This is the exact text of the email I received when I said the rate quoted was more than I was hearing from other local companies and more than I was paying to ADT: "Your ADT Focus panel will have to be replaced as this is proprietary equipment for ADT. Did any of the companies tell you that? I am pretty sure you would want remote capabilities on your mobile device to arm and disarm the system? For this, a cellular communicator accomplishes this. $29.99 is for phone line monitoring not a cellular communicator. Not all alarm companies sell cheap equipment or provide cheap and unprofessional labor. I can go to McDonald's and get a burger for 99 cents or can go to Scratch Kitchen and pay a lot more, for a quality burger. For some people, it does not matter, and for others it does. If you do not value your security and are looking for cheap, I would recommend Comcast."
