We've used PetWatchers since we moved to Evanston 14 years ago, both for daily dog walks as well as pet/house sitting services. I can't say enough great things about them. They really treat your pet as if it were their own.

The pet sitter was loving, thorough, left great notes, and did everything we needed. They are terrific!

Simply said - my dogs are my world, and I trust Pet Watchers 100% to give them the quality of care I require when I am not there to walk them. Highly recommend!

Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous! Highly recommend Pet Watchers (and Doris). The process from in-home interview/consult, to staying at my home to leaving daily notes was very professional. My dogs were very happy when I got home and not stressed at all so I know they had a great time and felt relaxed too. Thanks Pet Watchers!

We used this company to do a daily cat visit over a five day vacation. Our cat was to be fed and watered, administered a dissolvable tablet medication, and have her litter cleaned daily. Visits were supposed to be 20 minutes long, and we were assured that we'd receive regular updates. Cost: $21/day paid in advance.
Pros: Eric, who arranged my service, was friendly and responsive. They agreed to come to East Glenview, although that is technically out of their service area (though I don't understand why, since it's basically next door to their other service areas). Services described were performed as far as I could tell, and our sitter Margo did come daily (which we verified through the arming/disarming of our alarm at the house). Our mail was also brought in, which was very nice. I got two texts from Margo during the vacation, which was sufficient.
Cons: Margo did not stay for the 20 minute time allotment during her visits. I can tell this because I get record of when the alarm system is turned off (her arrival) and turned back on ( when she left). Although her tracking sheet she filled out by hand indicated she stayed for exactly 20 minutes per visit, I have record of visits as short as 13 minutes on more than one day. She also accidentally caused our alarm to be set off the first day, and while I understand things happen, I was disappointed that although I called the office and asked for follow-up, I did not hear back from them.
Am I being picky, you ask? Perhaps. But when you are paying $1 per minute and this is the only contact your cat gets for an extended period, I believe each minute counts. Furthermore, the fact that our sitter lied about her visit times on the tracking sheet simply leads me to assume that she could have lied about any other detail - did my cat get her medicine for real each day? Did this sitter brush her as she claimed to have done? I have to say I doubt it. Had she been honest about her visit times, I would not have cause to say that.
Overall the service gets an average grade from me because that is exactly what was provided - average service. I don't feel our sitter was interested in caring for the pet, nor would I feel I could trust the service after being short-changed this time around.

I have used PetWatchers in Evanston for several years. Often we have someone stay in the house for a week or longer to take care of our two dogs, bring in the mail, water the plants, etc. They are always professional and take excellent care of the dogs, who love them. The house is clean and well maintained when we return, and they provide a detailed report of what the dogs did while we were gone. When one sitter accidentally broke a glass recently, she texted me right away and offered to replace it.
I will continue to use PetWatchers as long as they continue this excellent level of service.

We were new in town so I checked Angie's list for pet watching services. Decided on Pet Watchers. Had an initial visit from Eric to get basic info about the pets and lodging layout since the cats are homebound. We have used this service four times this year, two of which had to be scheduled at the last minute because of family emergencies. Barbara was able to accommodate our needs.
At the completion of each visit, a written report was provided to us by Doris who has watched our cats. Our cats seem happy (show no visible stress); litter is clean and food has been used. Doris plays with them so they wont get bored and she sends pix occasionally of the 2 cats who seem perfectly content.
Positives:
Pet care: Cats are happy so we will be using this service again and again. Never met Doris but assume that she does care for our 2 cats because they seem well taken care when we come back home (fur is shiny and they look at us with contempt, as cats do).
Billing: I had a small problem with a bill recently which was promptly rectified over the phone and followed by an apology phone call from the owner which was not necessary, thus much appreciated.
Recommendation: would suggest that scheduling, confirmation and billing be performed online for more flexibility. The phone system where I leave a message and the call is returned same day or later has worked so far but providing online info might speed up the process.
Negatives:
The need for 2 keys . While I understand the safety concerns, I don't really have control over the number of keys I can let go.Might be the same issue for other renters.
Not sure how the fee system works. For the same duration of service, I have had 2 different costs. I am ok with that yet the company web site should provide more info.
I have no frame of reference for how this type of service should cost in Chicagoland, It is affordable for now.
WIll use Pet Watchers again and hope that Doris can keep watching our pets.

"Hi and thank you for your detailed review. Our sitters are always available for a stop by if you would ever like to meet them. That is a complementary service. We do ask for two sets of keys in case we accidentally lock a set inside. If there are no other options we can work with your building's management. We are currently researching an online booking software but in the mean time you can email us through our web site but please follow up with a call to make sure we got it. We can share a price list with you to better understand any add on charges. We love playing with your kitties!"

They do a very good job. We had the same walker most of the time. She was very nice and friendly and our dog loved her. We had no issues with this company.

"Thanks (removed member name), We enjoyed walking your dog. The price was $16 per visit."

Their service is good. They helped us match the right walker to our dog. She clearly loves our dog and has a great attachment with him. She even works on some training with him since he is still a puppy.

"We are heart broken that after more than 15 years of service to this client that a situation beyond our control has caused an unfortunate parting of the ways. We'll always be available in the future for her if she gets beyond this misunderstanding."

I've used Pet Watcher's several times a year for many years. They are very reliable, and the sitters are enthusiastic and knowledgable about taking care of pets of all types. It's reassuring to know that our 2 cats will be just fine while we're gone.

I have them come out 5 days a week for dog walking. I also use their services, when I plan a vacation, to come over and take care of my dog. They are extremely reliable and trust worthy. They have people who love and are very good with dogs. My dog is afraid of any stranger, but, gets along with Pet Watchers Inc. They have a good system in place and are very flexible. I can cancel or reserve any service on their automated machine, till 10:00pm. My dog has a lot of medical issues and they take care of his injections and medications. After they walk my dog, they leave notes behind with details, how my dog is doing. In case of and fault or miscommunication from their end, they take ownership of the same. I like their services a lot and will use the same in future.

I was very pleased with their service. We had one caretaker in the morning and another person in the evening. They wrote short reports after each visit. This was helpful because one of our cats has been boarded, but not been home, when we were gone in the past. It gave me a sense of how he handled it, which he did fine. I never met the watchers, but from their notes they sounded like compassionate, animal people. I felt safe about our cats well being as well as the house being looked after. I will gladly use them again in the future.

We like them. Their prices are a little high during the holidays, but they are competitive other times. We have been using them for about 1 1/2 years.

We found this company to be super-responsive and attentive on both occasions. Pricing was very fair. Both this time and last time, the cats looked well cared for and the house was in good order when we returned. We would be quick to refer this company to other petowners and will use them again ourselves.

Petwatchers has walked my dog daily for about two years. They also have someone stay in the house when I am traveling. They have a very user friendly and extremely reliable system for bookings and billing. Their prices are competitive with other services and I have enormous peace of mind when I am traveling - not just about my dog, who enjoys them a lot, but also about the condition of my house upon my return. All in all, they are tops.
