See above. I could add that we have a small dog who loves to run in the street and they were careful of her. Rob came personally to help us lift in "curbside" delivery of fixtures that were beyond our ability to lift and carry alone. Everything was cleaned up after work; all detritus carried away. Just a totally good experience.
Description of Work: In a 100+ year old Evanston house, Rob Muno and his associates beautifully updated two bathrooms. From beginning to end, every promise they made was kept; every suggestion to improve our plans worked well, and the end product is one we admire every day. Someday we may sell this house, but we are thrilled that we got the needed renovations done for OUR own delight. We surely would hire Rob again, should the renovation bug bite once more!

Removed everything from the room, floor, plumbing, electrical, fixtures and replaced it all. House is over 120 years old and they did a great job restoring the bathroom and fixing all the 'issues' we discovered behind the walls and under the floor of a 1890s house.

Relocated the kitchen to the existing dining room (center of the house). This required new plumbing, electrical, exhaust and modifying a tall wide window to accommodate the space's new function as a kitchen. His team installed semi-custom cabinetry, new appliances, including vented exhaust and created a built-in pantry by cutting into the back of the existing deep hall closet. We were so impressed with Rob and everyone of his workers. We will definitely be calling Rob again for future projects. Even the permit process went smoothly... and the total bill came in $200 under budget. Also, his quote was VERY reasonable. We recieved two other outrageous quotes that were 30-40% higher for less work. While other contractors walked into our home and saw that we were doing a lot of work and perhaps found an opportunity to over-quote, Rob was practical and realistic -- something that is appreciated when having a lot of work to do without an infinite budget.

Project started July 25 and was completed on Aug 14, 3 weeks and well within contract completion date. Muno uses OTC Construction Inc as carpenter subcontractor. OTC was professional and knew what to do. Work started by 8:30 AM each day and ended by 5:00. Workers cleaned up every day and vacuumed at the end of the day. Demolition went smoothly with minimum dust and dirt. All trash and construction materials were removed from site. OTC did a very good job constructing new shower, pouring concrete floor and setting tiles. OTC replaced existing fans/lights in 2 baths and installed new fan/light in another bath, tying exhaust into existing through roof vent. OCT replaced damaged office ceiling and installed all medicine and laundry cabinets as directed. Rob Muno present each day as the general to oversee subs. Price was fair and less than half what another contractor estimated. Job completed for cost of estimate plus requested additional work. In general very satisfied and would use Muno and OTC again.

Rob Muno, the owner, acted as a general contractor for the remodel. He gave me an estimate for the work in the fall and I indicated a very narrow window that would work for me in January/February, with a preferred starting date. He brought in the owner of the construction firm that would do the work and gave me the estimate in a timely manner. He obtained the permit, helped me with measurements for the fixtures and amount of tile needed, and gave advice from previous projects. He was always really helpful and did all the coordination. His communication with me about the schedule and what was happening when was great. He met the inspectors at the house the three times they were required. The firm that he used for construction treated my house as if it were their own. It's a family business and everyone was very polite, detailed in their explanations to me, consulted me about placements, cleaned up at the end of each day. They were really a dream to work with. The painter came in for a day when needed and was the same. Excellent workmanship. Pride in what they did. The project finished on time. Everyone showed up when they were supposed to. The bathroom is gorgeous. I just couldn't be happier. I will call Rob again for any other house projects.
Description of Work: Our guest bathroom was ripped back to the studs. Electrical and plumbing was replaced, including other rewiring in the house to meet code. New tile and fixtures were installed. Room was painted. New radiator was installed.

He is very easy to work with, honest, around when you need him, and the price is fair. We have Rob over to get a view on things whenever we are thinking of something new and have recommended him to several friends, who have also used him and have been happy. Highly recommended!

Rob did a great job on my porch.
Description of Work: This is my first house and I needed proch repairs, Rob replaced the front railing of porch and installed new stairs. Did an excellant job, although it took a while to finish. Now that I've been through a couple of repairs with my first house I know what to look for and ask the contractor. Other than that I was very pleased with everything Rob did.

We have used their services a couple of times now. They are very diligent and reliable. They do a great followup and are reasonably priced. They were very resourceful and great with project management. We would use their services in the future too and in fact, we are talking to them right now to get some more work done.

He is a general contractor. He hired the painter, electrician and the flooring people to do the work. I spent about $25,000. The price seemed to be high but his quality was good. We get what we pay for. I have recommended him to a couple of people. I will use him in the future.

We started with a master bathroom where we wanted the tub area replaced with a contemporary shower enclosure. Rob works with a crew under the direction of Octavian, who is a master at tile, carpentry, plumbing and more. The results are outstanding and we LOVE our new shower. Other repairs included some can lights, new bathroom fixtures, a new island in the kitchen and many small repairs that were added to our overall job. Rob and his crew are masters at fixing all those things that just don't work right.
Description of Work: We worked with Rob Muno as a general contractor to update our new condo in Evanston that was built in 2001. We were referred to Rob through our realtor who gave him a very high recommendation. She was right...and Rob was fantastic. Rob is connected with top-notch, realiable professionals who deliver exaclty what he promises. Rob does not market his services...he concentrates on customer service and getting the job done on time and within budget. We think he is the North Shore's best kept secret!
