KRISTIN PAWLAK INTERIORS

We have a small bathroom, and unrealistically would have liked a double sink. When Kristin first met with us she suggested bumping out a wall. We thought about it, and decided we didn't want it to get that involved. So we were a bit disappointed when the final presentation included moving locations of the door and window. Would have preferred a consultation informing us that it would be impossible to fit a double sink without major demolition or two presentations, one without major demo and one without. We are unable to utilize the tile layout, pricing, etc., as we are not interested in moving the door and window. Her true talent is with tile. I had already chosen one tile, and she came up with several coordinating tiles and options. On another unrelated note: we experienced a major plumbing snafu in our basement the same time we were working with her. Once the plumbers were done she did hook us up with concrete contractors that came out the same day! That worked out well.

Overall it went very well. We had an idea of the budget we wanted to spend on the bathrooms and backsplashes. We conveyed that to Kristen and then she worked within that budget to select materials for the spaces. We had a contractor do the actual tiling but Kristin stayed involved in the project to ensure that the contractor followed the designs correctly. We had a great experience.

The project stayed in budget and finished on time. The tile installers had no problem following the sketches. We are just about to move into the house, but the bathrooms look fabulous and the interior paint also looks great. Before Kristin started helping us we were overwhelmed with the project. Too many tile choices. Too many paint choices! We were extremely pleased with the help we were given. One bonus is the discounts that a designer is able to receive and pass on to the customer. In our case, Kristin was able to get a sizable discount with a large tile retailer, which amounted to more than the cost of her services!
