This was my first time using a professional computer repair service.  Usually I rely on friends and relatives to help me with computer problems, but I could see that this time,  my computer was in real trouble and needed a professional.   The work was done quickly and thoroughly.  All of my questions were answered both in the Hometech office, and later by phone when I had additional questions.   David was very patient with me through all this.  Phone calls were responded to quickly....communication was easy.   It's a relief to know that there is someone I can count on when I have computer trouble!

My experience went very well. The staff was highly knowledgeable and and professional. They were also very punctual and even gave me a call to let me know when they were running late which I really appreciated. I was pleased with the outcome of the service and would highly recommend this company to others.

They were very personable and professional. They told me it would take just an hour or two, called me promptly to let me know they fixed the problem. I used their $15 coupon for first time users, which was deducted from the bill. I would definitely use them again for computer related problems. They also advised me to consider getting a new computer once Microsoft de-supports XP. Good advice. I was very pleased with their service and would highly recommend them.

I am very impressed. Laird shows up on time, is professional, courteous, patient, and whip-smart. He's looking at the whole picture and asks good questions that I wouldn't have thought to ask (like switching services, backup remote server space, wi-fi to printer). He's not pushy about any of it - just asking, trying to make my life easier, which I appreciate.

Laird called to let me know he would be a little late. He set up a new back up drive for me. I wasn't able to demonstrate some of the difficulties I had been having with the computer. He did, however, figure out why I was having trouble saving pdf files using excellent problem solving skills. It appears to be an issue with saving through Safari. He was able to figure out that I can save the files through Adobe without any problems. Because I work with peer reviewed publications via the Library of Medicine, this issue with saving files and sharing them with clients had become a huge issue. Laird also reviewed the Disk Utility functions with me, so that I can check and repair problems with my hard drive in the future. He was very thorough and very professional. I will be using Hometech Computer Solutions for computer problems in the future.

It went very well. The technician was very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. I got what I expected. I was able to understand him on the phone and we were able to communicate when he was out here. I couldn’t understand most of the others than I contacted. Everything was fine.

The technician, Laird, was very courteous, professional, and knowledgeable.  He was patient in walking us thru the new system, efficient in setting up the new computer and even gave us tips on how we could get faster, less expensive computer internet service.
I would not hesitate to use this service again and highly recommend them.

Awoke to find black screen and misc. print on 2 yr. old Dell desk top. Panic.
We chose Hometech because of their excellent reviews on Angie's List and close location to home
We called and the phone was promptly answered by a human! David was knowledgable, organized and honest about what the problem might be, as well as cost.
We needed a home visit and could have been accomodated the same day, had we been available.
The appt. was made for 9AM the next day.
Laird, our tech, called to let us know he was on his way and arrived promptly.
He ran some tests and showed what the problem was....crashed hard drive. Laird asked if we had the purchase receipt for the computer which we did. He showed us that we still had time on our store service agreement and offered to take the tower to them for us for repair!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We chose not to do that and let Hometech do the needed repairs.
Laird took the tower back to the store, did the necessary work,  returned it and had it completley set up by 4PM the same day.
We couldn't be happier with Hometech. We hoped to get reliable, honest expertise and that is exactly what we got, not to mention peace of mind for two computer challanged individuals, knowing that help is but a phone call away.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Hometech to friends and did a few days later. They were equally pleased.

I had Hometech over to the house.  First, Hometech was very accommodating with my schedule, I could only be there nights or weekends.  The tech came on a week night after I got home from work.  He fixed my printer issue, cleaned up all of the cords and straightened up the work space and components.  Then the tech patiently explained what he had done, showed me where everything was hooked up, then wrote down everything I would need for the future.  The tech was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and patient.  Plus, their fee seemed quite reasonable.  I would highly recommend their service.

I called several other computer guys from the list and these ones actually answered the phone and had availability to put me on the schedule that afternoon.  They came on time and corrected the problem and I was able to keep my afternoon schedule.  I am very pleased with the job they did!

I sent an email to the contact person with an initial inquiry. I got a call back in less than an hour and someone was at my house the next day. He completed the job quickly and even was able to make some other improvements to my computer within the first hour (so I didn't pay extra for this). He was very pleasant and happy to show me what he was doing.

Service expert came to my home check all of my computers and determine the problems were being caused by AT&T, and sat on the phone with the phone company and attempted to fix the problem. After an hour it was determined to be a line problem which the phone company needed to send a repair man for. The HomeTech expert then stated that he could not help me until the lines were fixed, and left without charging me for the 1.5 hours he worked on my system. These are old-school service providers that left without making a penny but made a client for life. The whole experience was wonderful, from the initial phone call with the owner of the company right down to the pleasant service tech that came to the house.

My desktop PC was locked in a perpetual Chkdsk mode that I could not get out of after numerous attempts. Contacted HomeTechs and scheduled service that night. The quoted me hourly/trip charges and were very courteous and professional. Emmanuel arrived at my home as scheduled and proceeded to run a separate diagnostic that was very time consuming but which I understand is typical of this process. While we waited for the diagnostics to run he answered a lot of my questions and assisted on some other tasks (setting up my laptop to run on my wireless printer, linking my laptop with my desktop PC, backing up some files from another old pc onto my laptop.) Unfortunately, after the lengthy diagnostics and other checks proved unsuccessful he determined based on some noises that my 5 year-old hard drive was likely the issue and was likely to fail. He pulled out the hard drive and backed-up the most important files (photos, tax records, a large music collection, etc) on my laptop. This was all a three hour process but he deducted one hour because the slow & unsuccessful diagnostics failed to clear up the problem. The next day HomeTechs called and quoted a price for a new hard drive (slightly higher than I could have gotten on my own) and scheduled Emmanuel to return that evening. Again he arrived as scheduled with the new hard drive, installed, set up the new operating system and gave me instructions for the things he knew I could do on my own (to save time & expense). In the end, I could have probably bought a new computer for slightly more than I payed HomeTechs but as this was the first time I ever had a Home Computer fail, was most concened about recovering important data (which was extensive and consumed lot of the time spent), and learned a lot during the process, my overall experience was very positive. Just hated parting with that much money! After spending five hours with him over two evenings, I can say that Emmanuel was extremely professional, personable, and was very patient with all my questions and requests. If you don't have someone you know already know that is a computer whiz (and cheaper or free), I would recommend HomeTechs.

Took a couple of times and took longer than I would have liked, but they were professional and worked with me on the price. I ended up needing a new motherboard.
