Gorman Carpentry and Home Renovation

Lucky and Cristian were able to fit us into their schedule right before we needed to move into our new home. Christian's team was able to take care of our requests and were creative in problem solving any issues that came up along the way.

Lucky and Christian (and the rest of their crew) were great to work with for my bathroom remodel. This was the first full remodel of the bathroom in my 100+ year old house. We encountered some surprises along the way which made a simple remodel more complicated. At each new surprise, Christian suggested a solution which would ensure that I would be happy with this remodel for years and years. Whether doing the demo, re-framing, plumbing, tile work, or final paint and trim, their work was impeccable....and they were very careful to keep my home clean.

It was great. Christian showed up when he said he’d show up and did the work. 3 hours later, it was repaired, clean and totally fixed.

We were very happy with the team who painted our bedrooms. The walls were in bad shape and they did a beautiful job smoothing them out. They were extremely neat and you wouldn't have known they were here when they finished. They also solved a lighting issue for us while they were here. Thank you!

In July of 2022 we hired Gorman Restoration to refinish our front door. The carpenter stripped the old, wood veneer and replaced it with new veneer that was then stained a beautiful dark walnut. Unfortunately, in less than a year the veneer began to peel off. I contacted the owner, Lucky and he honored the warranty. The door was redone at no cost and it looks better than before. Also, the carpenter was able strip the veneer and then showed me that the wood underneath was in excellent condition, so he stained the wood without adding the veneer. So much better and without the worries of the veneer peeling off due to heat and moisture. I highly recommend this company.

Awful experience. Lots of promises and even more under-delivery. Hired him to strip and stain my deck. They talked me into replacing the decking and then staining it. Deck now looks worse than it did prior to the work. The stain has left dark spots in multiple areas, and in some instances Im convinced they used paint and not stain as it looks like a completely different surface. They also left a pile of extra wood on our driveway for multiple weeks. that I eventually had to pay to have taken away. One of his freelance crew members came out to review the work and indicated that they clearly did not apply the stain correctly, and indicated he they would likely have to redo the whole project. Weve called multiple times to have him address it. Always told were at the top of his list but he never shows. Its going on two months now and we written him off. Do not hire Gorman Restoration

The job turned out great. We are very pleased and plan on using Lucky again on some other projects we have in mind.

Very professional job.  Came in with tarps for the floors.  Knew exactly what they had to do to resolve my issues.  Very happy with the service provided and would definitely recommend for electrical projects.

Overall, it took over a month to complete both parts. Got the deck repairs done quickly but then waited for weeks for the wash/stain. To be fair, some delays were due to weather and others because they did not order the stain in advance. I was satisfied with the deck repairs although I thought the price was high for the amount of time they spent. The cleaning and staining went better....the stain was hand applied.

Lucky and his team were great. They arrived on time and were very professional. Gorman Restoration provided quality work at a great price. I would highly recommend Gorman Restoration! 

Worker appeared on time and completed job in expeditions manner. Quality of work is excellent! Color matches exactly after he utilized his own paint.

I initially inquired on line, and they called me that day. The job was scheduled for the following day. Brian did a good job and did it well. We talked about what could be done and the most reasonable way it could be taken care. I am pleased with the final product.

This is the second time we used this co.

They came promptly to an emergency call to replace a broken pane of glass.

Did a great job replacing the glass, staining the door and replacing hardware on the outer doors.

Happy with them and will use in future.

Most expensive deck sealing I ever had. Provider tried to tell me in middle of project that he had mismeasured and wanted to charge even more!!! I refused and he did honor his original quote.

This service was absolutely terrible. I could have done better work. He was never punctual. The bathroom work created a leak that came down into the kitchen which had just been repainted.

They provided great service and were prompt. They did a great job.

They did an awesome job, showed up at scheduled times and were very communicative about when they would be at my home (which was great because I had to arrange to work from home).  They also fixed it immediately and the pricing was very reasonable.  I am super impressed and would recommend them to anyone and certainly use them in the future.

The leaked within a month.  Turned out I had to call out someone else to actually repair the spot where birds had nested (was untouched) and eventually had to redo the flat roof.  The flashings were not properly done from the start and the prior work was poor.  None of this was noticed by Gorman, who just threw some tar on it.

Horribly.  Do not use Lucky Gorman under any circumstances.  His people/subcontractors were very nice people and had excellent skills (although he couldn't keep anybody for more than a few days and found them on Craigslist), but he often did not pay them.  I rarely saw the same workers more than a day or two at a time.  In spans of "no shows", I heard every excuse in the book, including that one of them was in jail (?).
He was full of empty promises ranging from when they'd show up, what would be done, etc..  A job that was supposed to be done in a few weeks took MONTHS and was never completed.  He always wanted money, but the work was far from acceptable in timing or quality.  
I finally had to file a claim in court to get rid of him and then never heard from him again.
I have owned 20+ properties and have worked with MANY contractors-- good and bad.  On a scale of 1 (awful) to 10 (superb), Lucky Gorman is a negative 100.  
Sorry to say, but it's completely true!
