Do not use Finnpro. To be polite, they are unprofessional. They estimated a project for me at $1600 and I expected the job would take about 18 hours over several days based on their published hourly rate of $85. The estimate stated that the job would require special preparation and several coats of primer and paint. The actual time taken by their handyman/painter employee was 7 hours including the time taken to run to the store for supplies (he was gone for one hour on one trip and a half hour on the second trip). Speaking to the owner, I pointed out the difference between the estimate and the time spent to perform the actual work. I was told that I had to pay the estimate. That would work out to something in the range of $230/hr. I offered to pay a fair price for the work - about $600 plus the cost of materials. The response was that I needed to pay the full estimate regardless of the time taken and that he intended to turn this over to his lawyers. This was the second project we did with Finnpro. On the first project they sent an employee that took excessive cigarette breaks. On that occasion, when we questioned the accuracy of the hours spent, the owner adjusted the price. One final comment, they are very weak on their communication and scheduling skills. They rarely answer their phones and they hardly ever call back. Stay away from these guys - they are, to be less polite but more accurate, crooks.

If all you need is painting and you don't care about communication or being able to schedule/plan your life around it, then by all means, go to FinnPro. If your job has any aspects other than painting, for example, wood repair, you may want to look elsewhere. If you need to know when your painting job might get scheduled, you should definitely not rely on FinnPro. I could not get an answer about scheduling - the estimate visit was in March, I put the deposit down in early April and the job wasn't done til August. I asked repeatedly via email if I was coming up on the schedule. Didn't get a straight answer until they suddenly announced they would be coming the next day. The actual painting was done efficiently and well. The rotted wood (see pictures) was NEVER addressed. FinnPro sent out a sub-contract carpenter to look at it but it was never estimated or scheduled. Just more ineffective communication. I can only imagine that FinnPro's client base puts up with their lack of professionalism because in their houses, someone can be there all day everyday, waiting for FinnPro to deign to put them on the schedule. If that's you, you'll be delighted with the quality of the painting work (which was really top-notch). I expect more professionalism in communication and follow-through.

The company came right out to give us an estimate. Once we'd hired them, it took a long time to have them appear at the house, probably because it was a very busy time and also because our job wasn't very big. But when they did appear, they did a very careful job and we really appreciate the time they took to do it right. We're looking forward to having them return for some interior painting this winter.

I've used Finn Pro for years.  I considered their previous painters nothing short of artisans.  I got a bad crew and despite calling many times during the project re: problems in the making (there is paint all over window sills?), they left and I spent the  weekend touching up, repainting trim, and even painting parts of walls that they missed.  We were having new carpet installed on Monday. this job looked like I had hired college students.  I sent photos re: the paint drips on door hardware (brand new...doors were not to be painted), paint covered wall plates, paint on blinds, missed spots/walls.  I had them back to eventually fix a wall that they had done a horrid job patching (it looked worse).  Ollie conceded it needed more sanding and could look better.  It improved somewhat.  didn't he sign off on it at the  end of the job the first time?

In May, seams started popping on our ceiling.  We called, he came, said he'd fix it, and never came back.  I emailed him and he told me they were really busy.  I gave up.

We have subsequently used another company recommended by our contractor to repair Finn Pros work and they later did the entire first floor.  The others painters explained that some seam tape had be placed poorly by the previous painters. they redid it.  It looks fantastic.

I would have tried to get them to fix the ceiling, but by that point, my husband refused to allow Peter in our home again. Peter told me he painted one small section of a wall that was one half inch with close trim with his finger? Really? 

very disappointing.

FinnPro was great, Olli especially. He gave a very comprehensive and detailed estimate, and when the full painting job fell outside out budget he worked with us to figure out how to accomplish our top priorities without going over (that is, what FinnPro would do versus what we could do ourselves). He also gave great tips for the work we were going to do ourselves and helpful recommendations on products and where to buy them.

Finnpro did an excellent job painting our back porch. The following year I hired them to paint the entrance way of the front of my house along with two large columns. The job was adequate. However, the front door was not painted and the columns had an area of missing paint on the back side. I noticed the poor job on the columns about three weeks later and left over four messages with Martin. I never heard back.  The following year, I called again to have them fix the columns and paint the front door so it matches the columns. The paint they chose did not match what was used on the door. Again, Martin was extremely hard to get in touch with. I finally spoke to Ollie. He arranged someone to come and paint one afternoon. Unfortunately, we did not hear the door bell ring, and the painter left. They did not attempt to call my cell phone when they were at the house. I have now emailed Ollie four times and left over five messages with no response. I do think it is important to see a job through to the satisfaction of the client. Without that ability, I have no recourse when a job needs to be improved. I never expect a perfect job. However, I do hope the contractor will come back to correct any aspect that is needed.

Olli -- the owner -- was extremely responsive in giving us quotes on this job as we figured out how much drywall we needed to replace.  The painter/drywaller he sent over was punctual, professional and did excellent work.  The painter ended up painting an additional wall that our very young daughter "painted" herself the day they were out.  We would definitely hire FinnPro again and recommend them without hesitation.  
FinnPro also stained a front door for us, and the inside roof of a portico in 2012.  They did excellent work then as well, which is why we continued to use them.  They have an excellent reputation in our community.

We have used Finnpro a number of times in the past. They continue to do high quality work. Ollie, the owner, and the others at Finnpro are customer oriented. They work with you to make sure the job requirements are understood. If something does not get done to your satisfaction, they are promptly back to your house making the necessary adjustments. The crews clean up at the end of the day and at the end of the job. We are very pleased with Finnpro, plan to use them again in the future, and highly recommend them to others needing painting done.

Ollie provided a prompt, thorough and competitive quote, explaining what needed to be done and why.  The job was scheduled in a reasonable time.  Work started on the date promised and finished promptly.  Everything was done well and on schedule.  The work areas were cleaned up each day.  They were professional and responsive throughout the project.
