Excellent experience.  Phone calls were answered promptly.  Appointments were kept as agreed upon.  My questions were answered very satisfactorily and the work was started as agreed upon.  The month was very rainy and the work was begun and completed as soon as the weather cleared.  I am very pleased with the work that was done and the work area was kept tidy as agreed upon.  The carpentry repair was excellent (something I had been concerned about). I would definitely recommend Campus Painters and will use them again.

The first day, they had one individual come in and strip the paint.  I was checking to see that everything was covered up and my vinyl windows were taped.  I also checked on the entrance door in the hallway to make sure that the carpet/ walls/ varnished wood were all protected.  He did not protect these areas.  He got paint remover on the vinyl window.  He also got paint remover on the wood varnish by the entryway door.  He was getting paint remover everywhere.  After a week of this, I was fed up.  He was tracking in paint that he had been removing onto my steps when he could have simply put on his boot protector booties, which he had) but didn?t bother to wear then to prevent this.  It was a very sloppy job.  I told the contractor that I didn?t want this gentleman to do anymore of the work.  I asked who he had as a replacement and was told ?no one at the moment.?  It took a week before he sent the replacement out.  Paint had not been stripped under my window ledges.  There were gouges in the wood that they did not repair.  They finally admitted that they were not very good paint removers, but better at the painting itself.  They were not qualified in my opinion and should have never been sent to do the work.  They finally started the taping, applying the drywall compound and sanding.  I noticed that that the nail holes and such were not being puttied, but I thought that this would be taken care of after they put in the trim work and crown molding.  They were supposed to come back that following Thursday and he didn?t show.  I called the boss and he said that he hadn?t heard from the worker.  He rescheduled for the next Tuesday.  The worker showed, but I advised that I had hired someone else to finish his part of the work.  My guy finished all the trim work, baseboards and was going to wait until the floors were done before doing the crown molding and quarter round.  Campus Painting came out and finished the joint compound and didn?t do a very good job of it.  You could see the fiberglass mesh in several different places and also didn?t sand where they filled the nail holes in my trim and just painted over it.  Now there are bumps all over my trim.  They primed and applied the first coat of paint and missed some spots.  They even missed these areas with the second coat (which made me wonder if they even applied a second coat).  They missed spots around the trim and baseboards and on the sides of the trim.  I asked them to correct it, and they did not.  I asked them to put one coat of paint on my baseboards and wait until my floors were sanded and then he could apply the second coat as well as the two coats on the quarter round.  They missed spots on the quarter round.  The workmanship was terrible and I would not recommend them to anyone.   They scratched 9 panes on my glass French Door and gouged the wood frame, which ended up costing me.  I had to bring the boss in every time to show him these things and he would just say ?I don?t know? or ?how could a guy do that??  They came in to finish putting in the crown molding.  I Ok?d this because the floors and ceiling had been completed.  He never showed.  I ended up waiting another 3-4 days.  I ended up having someone else come in and finish all the trim work.  I told the painters that they were missing spots and even after I showed them around the entrance door, he didn?t bother painting it and continued to miss spots.  They didn?t put enough primer on and so color kept bleeding through.  Finally after about 5 coats, it looked ok.  The painters didn?t check their work when they were completed and the boss never came out after completion to inspect either.  I had to constantly babysit and watch these people, which was time consuming and exhausting.

They sound very convincing but the workmanship speaks for itself.

Communication between painter and main office a little weak. Did a fairly good job of painting and cleaning up.  Biggest issue was company's failure to communicate that the garage would need to be power-washed before painting.  Was not in original estimate. Cost an additional $50.

Campus has worked for us now for well over 20 years. Jack is the owner; whenever I need a bid, Jack arrives right on time for our appointments; within a week I invariably receive a fair proposal.  Jack is calm, easy going, professional, fair and honorable.  The gentleman who works in his office, John, is always pleasant as well.
I believe Campus has a few interior crews. I generally ask for Ray. Ray starts when planned and, barring something unforeseen (such as when I change the scope of the job by for example landing on a dramatic color change) he finishes on time.  I believe Ray has been a painter his whole working life.  He is a gentleman who takes great pride in his work and he does it well. He is polite, focused, hard-working, detailed and always a pleasure to have in our home. Most recently, Ray painted our master bedroom and bath.  He moved the furniture, neatly prepared the surfaces where it was needed and applied two pristine coats of paint.  Clean up, too, was perfect. It really looks nice and everything went smoothly.
Btw, their exterior crew is a different group.  We have  used them in the past as well, also to very happy result. They too have always been timely, workmanlike and courteous.
Having worked with Campus for many years, I know that Jack and Ray do their work reliably, well and charge fairly for it.  I am happy to recommend Jack and Ray to you.

Everything about this company was good. They arrived on time, and were very clean and orderly throughout the process. Our home looks amazing now! It's like night and day. I've very, very pleased with the quality of their work.

They usually sub contract everything. They have a marketing agent sitting in an office who has the sub contractors that they had. No body really has a way when they hire Campus Painters but the guys who did the actual painting did a great job. Some of the painting that was done later on like the one done on one of the fences; maybe the preparation wasn’t as good as it should have been. Basically I feel they did a good job. I think they were efficient and the price was decent. It was competitive but it wasn’t cheap. I feel more comfortable saying it if I knew it was this company, but they use sub contractors to get a job. For me overall, I would say it was a good job. They did work very quickly. I will use them in future.

They began in timely fashion the first day. I was doing some of the painting , storm windows, that needed to be removed. Wednesday they were in full swing. They were friendly and courteous. I had to be away frequently which was a mistake. The work was done as expected with the quality expected. But mistakes were made which I could have prevented if I had been present. The supervisor corrected most of the problems and I will correct one problem with paint supplied by them. They were the lowest bidder by far. They do a decent job but you need to be present to be sure that what you wanted done gets done correctly.

Their price was so cheap that it made me nervous. The estimate was very professional. I really did feel the price was so much less than the other companies I would still call this company again.

Paint job in Kitchen was sloppy. I had to call them back out to retouch areas where they got wall paint on trim and vice versa. They sanded the walls and didn't hang plastic in the doorways so I had dust all over my house. The dust took hours to clean out of the grout lines in my newly laid tile floor (a huge mess). They left paint splashes on the countertops (again newly installed corian). We asked them to use the utility sink in the basement, which they did but didn't even clean it out. I will say the wall looked smooth. They did a better job in the DR, but they did have to come back out to fix a section of wall where the skim coat they applied was bubbling up. They were fine about coming back out and apologized for the bad clean-up... but still. I would have probably left it and made them do most of the clean-up, but we were having people over and I just needed it done.

We got bids as high as $2500.00 to do the same work, which was paint the first floor exterior windows, three dormer windows, and a wood porch on a brick bungalow. We already had the paint and had painted the basement windows ourselves. They came, and one guy got it done in one long day.

THIS WAS A 6 DAY JOB AND WE WERE NOT HOME TO OBSERVE OR SUPERVISE. SOME AREAS WERE MISSED TOWARD THE END OF THE JOB, BUT THEY RETURNED TO TOUCH UP. OVERALL, A GOOD JOB. THEY ALSO DID SOME MINOR REPAIR, PATCHING, ETC AROUND WINDOWS.
