Description of Work: Quality work. Great follow through if you need them to return for any issue. I have used this firm for both design build from the foundation and for a major renovation of an existing condo. Both projects resulted in a living design that was exactly what I was hoping to achieve in the time frame that was presented.

They came and listened to what I wanted (Not really sure how it was going to be possible to do,) took measurements, built the false back in his workshop and then installed it in the unit. It was well done and looks great. We would use his services in the future without hesitation!
Description of Work: Phil and his crew made (off-site) and installed a false back on our entertainment center to support our very heavy flat screen TV. He enstalled an adjustable arm so the TV could be viewed from all areas of the room.

+ 1 moreWe were told repeatedly that we would pay more for their work, but it was worth it. Everything was quoted with an additional 10 - 35 k on top of it. There was no design sense, no style sense, no punctuality, and no real respect for our time or ideas - so we are not sure what we paid $3,000 for??? We were condescendingly told that people on the Northshore were willing to pay way more than we believed the job to be worth, but we never got the detailed job breakdown that we were promised. We had to ask for everything twice.
Description of Work: Paid for drawings, estimate, and design of kitchen remodel and remodel of 3 baths and a mudroom. Design ideas were next to absent. Went to stone and tile shop and no sense of design and matching of stone was provided by architect. Was told repeatedly that laying marble was the only worthwhile material to work with, even though it pushed past an already inflated estimate on their part. Would travel to their showroom and the meeting was disorganized. The architect did not listen to my ideas or remember what I had told him. Front elevations were beyond the $3,000 price for the designs and he wouldn't "allocate any further resources" to this kind of a plan which would have assisted in visually understanding the kitchen remodel. They directed us to put money into more visible projects - like re-roofing instead of insulating. They were late to 3 of 4 meetings. One time 1 1/2 hours late, the second 20 minutes late, the third time 45 minutes late. Emails were slow to be returned. We were told that the architect would not work of Saturdays to meet with my husband and that he would not meet with us in the evenings. Very poor communication skills. The ideas we did get were centered around maximum purchase of their cabinets, even if the design did not dictate increased cabinets.

+ -1 moreWas told on the phone that they service a high end clientele. As an example, they said that they never remodel a kitchen for less than $100K. Basically, they were telling me not to bother them unless I'm planning to spend a lot of money with high end fixtures. While I don t like that answer and the elitist attitude, it's better that they told me this up front. That way nobody's time is wasted.

+ -1 moreTHIS IS A FABULOUS COMPANY. THEY ARE A DESIGN-BUILD FIRM AND THAT MEANS THAT THEY HANDLED THE DESIGN AS WELL AS THE CONSTRUCTION. THEIR DESIGN WAS CREATIVE (THEY SUGGESTED IDEAS THAT I NEVER WOULD HAVE THOUGHT OF ON MY OWN) AND THE REMODELING WORK IS FIRST RATE. THE FIRM ALSO CUSTOM MADE THE CABINETRY IN ITS EVANSTON SHOP. MY HUSBAND AND I ARE THRILLED WITH THE RESULTS.
Description of Work: I REMODELED AN EXTENSIVE PART OF MY HOME, INCLUDING A NEW CUSTOM KITCHEN AND A MASTER SUITE.
