These folks have all been amazing from start to finish. Lana, Crystal, and everyone at the front desk have been so friendly and helpful every time I call. Jack was extremely patient and knowledgable during the quote process. Even though I was such a pain :) he was always so respectful and patient in explaining the reasoning behind prices, approaches, etc. Once the work began, I knew these folks will be the only company I work with. Spencer was prompt, extremely hard-working, and very knowledgable and creative with the solutions and approaches he made during the process. His work is incredibly neat and tidy, and very well done. I literally enjoyed the final walkthrough because the work was done so well. Michael was also so helpful with checking in and both were able to explain the many steps to the complicated process without talking down to me or rushing my questions. Seriously, I cannot say enough good things about each and every person I worked with over this process. You will pay a little more, but if you can afford it you will be happy.

After living in our home for ten years, our old Tramco flood control system (over 50 years old!) broke down and we needed to find someone capable enough to replace it. After contacting more plumbers than I could count on both of my hands, I finally found a reliable company in American Vintage Home. In talking with other plumbers I came to realize that the vast majority of them had no knowledge of our old system, as well as no real good options for replacing it other than something that would cost well over $10,000. They told me I either have to replace it with a brand new Tramco unit or build a new flood control outside of our home. To top it off many of the plumbers neglected sending us quotes as they promised. When Jack from American Vintage Home came over he was professional and had ideas for replacing our system immediately. After several days, as promised, he sent us a quote that was incredibly detailed in its proposal and really laid to rest any questions I had. I signed on and he scheduled a plumber to come over and get started. The plumber they sent was professional, and when they ran into a problem they discussed it with me and presented me several options to proceed, some that wouldn't change the cost, others that would due to having to order extra materials. Most of their concern had to do with trying to maintain the current layout of our basement room, so it was much appreciated that they took the time to make sure I had a complete understanding of the issue. After completing the work they sent an inspector over the following week to do a walkthrough and provide me with some information regarding the new pump. Although the job was costly, it was reasonable when compared to offers from other companies. When you also take into account their extreme professionalism and their attention to detail, you are getting your money's worth for sure. I can't stress this enough; when most of the plumbers would just give us a verbal quote and wouldn't be bothered to write something up, it gives an amazing impression when someone is willing to take the time to write a 2 page proposal that lays out on a point by point basis what the work will be. And they followed that proposal to a tee! We will definitely be contacting AVH for any future projects we have!

The technician that did the work (Spencer), showed up on time and did a great job. He was professional, cordial, quick and competent. The company was easy to work with from the point of calling to get an estimate to the moment the tech finished the work and left my condo. I would hire them again. I thought the cost of installing the two toilets was a little high compared to their competitors, but worth the slight extra expense.

I originally called American Vintage Home to get a valve on my sump pump replaced. They talked me into the service plan, which I thought would be a good idea. It took me two appointments to get a plumber to show up -- the first time nobody came in the FOUR hour window, and did not call or text. The next time the plumber came in a two hour window and was professional and did a good job. I then scheduled an air conditioning appointment. More no shows after I sat at home waiting -- also no calls or texts. When a tech finally came, he was thorough and did a good job. Then made an appointment to get a leaking toilet fixed. Again a no show, and that was the last straw. I rescinded my service plan and am moving on to another provider.

They are great! I never write reviews but Jose and his team were Professional, courtesy, honest and truly transparent. I engaged several firms as I looked for quotes and options and found them to be comprehensive and knowledgeable. The follow up and service have been excellent!

I contacted American Vintage Home to come out and do two things: (1) remove a garbage disposal (replacing it with a simple drain) and (2) fix a leaky faucet. The person on the phone was polite and professional in taking down what I was looking to get done and scheduling an appointment. I took the morning off work so that I could be there for the plumber. Unfortunately, the plumber they sent out did not fix either issue. He said he didn't have the parts for swapping in a drain (even though those are standard parts and the task was known before-hand) and that he didn't know how to work on the kind of faucet I had. He then charged me $90 for coming out and told me the company would be in touch to schedule him to come back to do the work. They never contacted me to reschedule. Naturally, I'm dissatisfied since I still have the issues. I just have less money and missed a 1/2 day of work.

I called for a routine service of my Spacepak AC unit. Technician inspected unit in attic and outside my home. He found that the capacitor was rusted & needed replacing at a cost of about $200. It is an older unit & I want to keep it running properly so I agreed. Once the capacitor was replaced the fan motor stopped working. I was told the part could be available in a day or two but it turned out it was a special order & it took a week. I understand these things happen so I rolled with it. As a side note, the 1st technician who came out was on the phone for at least half the time he was inspecting and working on my AC unit, which I found to be very unprofessional. A second technician came to install fan motor after a week or so had passed. While working on the replacement I was told the fan blade was seized to the motor. Technician managed to get to their supplier and get a new blade at an additional cost. Again, understandable. Tech completed the repair, tested the unit & it seemed to be working properly. After he left I found the cover had been left off the condenser unit. Had to call and get another tech to come back and reinstall. We had a cool week after the repair was done so AC unit was not run for a while. When I finally fired it up the fan motor started buzzing and the blade was not spinning. Shut the unit down and called back immediately. The first tech who came to my home was out later that day. When we first fired up the unit the fan started spinning. He barely investigated the problem and told me that if he stayed any longer I would be charged, even though it was a warranty visit. 5 minutes after he left the fan stopped again and the motor started buzzing. Called him back and he returned. After convincing him to investigate the problem further he found it was overheating. It turned out the capacitor that had been installed was not calibrated properly. I'm not sure if this is the issue that caused the fan motor to blow out in the first place but I have my suspicions. He finally got it running properly but it took four visits from technicians, $1,000 dollars in parts and service and some convincing to actually take the time to diagnose the problem. And again, the tech was on the phone for the majority of the time he was working on my AC unit. Overall I found the explanations from the technicians to be lacking and their estimates for the timelines on parts to be inaccurate. I also expect any service person who comes to my home to not be distracted by phone calls for the majority of the time they are performing the service I am paying for. I was also put off by the fact that the tech who came out after the fan motor had stopped barely took the time to diagnose the problem before telling me I would be charged. I should not have to convince a service person to diagnose an issue properly. I will be looking for an alternative HVAC company to service my systems in the future.

The service was quick and quality. Dom was professional and clear in his explanation, very detailed and easy to understand.

I always thought that when a furnace or some other thing was installed, that was the end. American Vintage Home installed the furnace and air conditioner a couple weeks ago, but then as part of the service, sent techs to insure the job was properly done. I can't say how much I appreciate this added benefit. The men that came yesterday were nice, professional and gave me some tips about the furnace that I did not know. Additionally they told me some things about the ducts in my home - it was a learning experience for me - they gave me the sense that they wanted me to understand how to use the furnace, thermostat and humidifier. They spoke in terms that I could understand - which I really appreciated. There was no charge for this re-check of the installation

After years of plumbers telling me that my life would be easier with an outdoor, full-sized cleanout drain I decided to take the plunge (pun intended). We have used American Vintage Home before and found them to be dependable and fair priced, and decided to use them again for this larger job. The crew limited disruption to my family in scheduling and when conducting the work, and the job was done quickly and efficiently. Following the job, a small sinkhole developed around the job site, which American Vintage Home corrected with 24 hours of me calling to ask for help. All in all, a terrific experience.

Very good experience. They got us in a week ahead of the originally scheduled time. Technician was knowledgeable, prompt, professional. He did a beautiful job and cleaned up afterward. Would definitely recommend to others. We have had AVH come back out to do additional plumbing work - and have also used their HVAC services. They are a great resource for older home repair and maintenance.

Very professional and well done. They came and measured at least twice, sent me a picture of the radiator they picked out before purchasing it for me, did the install, and came for a walk through to make sure everything looked good.

The workers were great. Very professional and courteous. We have had it two years and extremely pleased. Can't believe we waiting 20 years to do this. I have also had them come out to inspect our HVAC. wow the tech was extremely knowledgeable and thorough.

Most cost effective bid among five firms for steam boiler replacement, AND only firm (among five bids solicited) to recommend converting from outdated steam boiler to high-efficiency hot water boiler system. Deep knowledge of options and thorough analysis of heating requirements along with easy-to-understand explanation of the option lead to unexpected, better replacement solution that will save significant sums on gas bills monthly going forward.

Excellent service. Fast response - came out same day to quote, installed next day. Both the guy who came to quote and the one who performed work were polite. Cleaned up after themselves. Would hire again.

Overall, very well. When a boiler goes OUT, you need fast resolution. AVH provided several options and price points for a new steam boiler, were available to answer our questions to enable us to make an informed decision, and scheduled the install very quickly ... important when you are without heat for several weeks! They were also able to offer a financing option for this very expensive (and unexpected) work, which was great. Staff are professional and knowledgeable. Only issue is that after the install, a few issues remain unresolved and these are slow to be resolved.

For the a/c project: the first workman came, checked out the system, said our freon level was fine. It got hot outdoors after the visit and the system was again not working. They sent another duo out who said the freon was low, which they replaced, but the system was not cooling properly after that visit either. The third visit they sent a workman who seemed more senior and knowledgeable. He spent and fair amount of time in our attic, made some repairs and said it should be fixed. It never got hot outdoors, so we still are not sure. Then we had them come to check out the boiler for the season. The workman arrived and told my husband what the boiler needed without even looking at the system! He told my husband we needed to install a CO detector directly above the boiler and that a valve was needed that would cost $400. Our confidence in this company was already low, so we got a second opinion, who said you should not install a CO detector directly above a boiler and that the system was fine.

Provided excellent solution to complex installation due to lack of space and historic character of house. Very clean installation and team are real experts. No other company could come up with such an innovative solution to the challenges of my home

This was a large investment, and one in which we spent years going back and forth on whether to do it or not. Eventually we decided to make the investment, and did a lot of research on firms. Price across the various estimates we got back were reasonably close, but American Vintage form the outset stood out. The estimator was on time, incredibly professional, and very detailed in how we measured the house to determine the proper system for our house. He was also very thorough in explaining what would happen and in answering any follow up questions. The installers could not have been better. Victor was a true pro. They were always on time, worked really hard, kept the area they needed to work in really tidy. He would frequently ask for preferences on how to install certain pieces of the system and was always looking out for our needs beyond the A/C system. For instance, he routed some of the condenser pipes a certain way so that in the event we wanted to replace a door later in the house they wouldn't be in the way. And he explained thoroughly any time I had a question about what was being installed, how it worked, and what I needed to do to maintain it. We're thrilled both with the decision to install the A/C system in the house because the summer was a completely different experience for us, and we made the right choice in going with American Vintage. I feel complete confidence that we have the right system and that it was installed impeccably. If we need any heating and cooling work done in the future, they'll be the ones we call.

I definitely did not like the hard sell I got when American Vintage sent two men to my home to give me an estimate for a new boiler furnace. I wanted to meet the people who would actually install my furnace, not listen to some canned, overdone pitch for "maintenance plans" and high cost, super high efficiency boilers I don't want or need. I still might hire this company on the basis of their Angie's List reviews (if I can get comfortable with their actual servicemen, not the sales people who wasted my time). But the hard sell made me so uncomfortable that I might go with another company. Ugh.

The work was professionally done in every respect.
