All I can say is that these guys knocked it out. Estimate was back the next day, they showed up on time to do the work and there wasn't a crumb of asphalt laying around after the job. They even lowered my drain at the bottom of the drive for better water flow. Highly recommended.

Everything worked very well. Quote was very close to other proposals we got. Time will show how good the quality is, but on the surface everything looks good.

We didn't hire them but I wanted to thank them for their speedy reply.  They came out to our house to prepare the free quote and sent the estimate within a few days of my calling them.  This was the 2nd fastest response I received out of the 5 paving companies I called that day.  They were also quick to send a modified estimate less than a day after I asked for it.

The parking lot had years of deterioration and had major potholes, and parts missing. It was a big undertaking. It went excellent. I couldn't have asked for anything better. They had to negotiate with my 90 year old mom, and they were patient, understand, and cooperative. They went above and beyond. I can't say enough good things about them. They are one of the best companies I've ever gotten from Angie's List.

The north side of our condo building parking lot (6 cars) had been slowly sinking for years.  During heavy rains or snow melting, the parking spots on the north side of the building often had 3-6" of standing water in them.  
We contacted a LOT of contractors, several were slow to get back to us or just didn't bother.  Very frustrating.  F&J responded to us promptly and had someone come out to take a look at our problem and give us a few options.  They provided 2 quotes that involved various levels of regrading the entire parking lot.  While this would have probably been the optimal solution, they were both beyond what our association could reasonably pay at the time.  
Since only the north side of our parking lot had the problem, I contacted F&J and asked if we could get a partial removal and regrading.  They sent someone out the next day and we discussed it further after looking at our problem more closely and we determined that only doing part of the lot would work and they promptly provided a quote that was much more in line with our budget.
They were able to schedule the work about 3-4 weeks later.  They arrived when they said they were going to.  They did all of the asphalt removal and replacement in one day (it was quite a production to watch).  They let that cure and then came back the following day to stripe the lot.  So far we've been very happy with the results.  We haven't had water pooling with any heavy rains, but this winter will tell the true tale if we get a lot of snow and subsequent melting.  

We are a manufacturing company and needed to remove and replace existing asphalt that had deteriorated over the years.  F&J Paving was one of four bidders and was the lowest bidder for this project.  F&J scheduled the project, confirmed two days before beginning the project, came in and performed the work in two days' time, and removed all debris, and left the area in pristine condition.  There was a supervisor overseeing the project both days.  We are very pleased with the quality of work performed.

I couldn't have asked for a more quality job! They were perfectly on time, and very nice people. I was very satisfied.

Their follow up to do the seal coating, and the overall follow up was not what I would expect, after spending $30000 with them. Their most different follow ups have gone to a different contractor for the seal coating, and it is a bit disappointing that they couldn't fit me in their schedule. They sent me a letter last fall to apologize that they were busy and would contact me this year, but they didn't and I have moved on to another contractor. Their initial response was good but they didn't follow up. I get the sense that they are more commercial based, and that is where they get most of their contracts, and so the rest of the jobs are secondary.

Everything went very well and we were pleased. When I called them in March 2014, however, they said that they no longer did asphalt work.

The driveway behind five townhouses needed to be replaced. Jerry came out and provided the quote in early spring. Other asphalt companies refused to provide a quote because of such a small project and city working conditions (large equipment couldn't make the tight turns in the alley). It took some time for the five homeowners to come up with the deposit since we are not an association. It also took some time to get a scheduled date once the deposit was mailed. But since we live near Wrigley Field, we had to make sure the Cubs were not playing when the work was to be performed. John (the project manager) and his crew came out promptly on the morning of the install. Even though they had a large crew, the project took 7 hours. We were happy that it was completed in one day. That night we had a severe rain storm. Although one homeowner did not like the water pooling near his garage, water did not enter his garage. The next morning, the pavement was dry. That same homeowner complained we paid too much; however, he couldn't find an alternative. This homeowner is very happy with the results.

This crew was amazing. They were fast, accomodating and really cared about our satisfaction. And actually completed the work all in one day - ahead of what they had scheduled. The driveway is perfect!

They had to dig up part of it. They're very good, reliable, and ethical. It was a very big job.

F M and J came out and did an estimate, and within two weeks, had our driveway ground up and a new gleaming asphalt driveway put in its place. The pitch and appearance is phenomenal. Even with this huge "once in a lifetime" rain we just had, the driveway directed the rainfall in the correct direction.

They were punctual, efficient and careful. Their price was the best, and their finished product was fantastic. I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

We are very pleased with the work done by this company. We have scheduled for them to come out and do another project for us. They are professional, timley, and very easy to work with. They have high quality work and you do pay a bit more for that but it is worth it.
