Revisions Window & Door

Horrible experience all around. This company should be out of business. We had (and continue to have) an incredibly frustrating experience dealing with Revisions Window & Door. Despite paying over $70,000 for new doors and windows for the front of our house, the experience and quality of the install and product are horrible. The installation resulted in one of the sidelight windows on our door being shattered, and the replacement process took over 8 months because they ordered the wrong size window for the initial replacement. We live in the heart of Chicago and this posed a safety concern. This also caused us significant financial losses because we rent our house for production and photo shoots and were unable to do so with a shattered front door (which is front and center in our living room). To make matters worse, Revisions refused to offer any form of discount or credit for their mistakes. During install they also realized they didn't measure a door frame correctly which resulted in a change order and them charging us more than our contractual agreement. However we just experienced the biggest issue less than a year after our doors and windows were installed. The recent snow and rain in Chicago revealed a major flaw - the french doors in our bedroom are leaking, allowing massive amounts of water to seep in, which has caused significant damage to the trim, flooring and ceiling on the floor below. This experience has been a nightmare and the worst experience I've ever had with a company. I would not recommend this company to anyone. They sell a commodity product -- look elsewhere and you will find much better quality and service. I wish I did.

Four windows were installed on 11/22/15 (very cold) and 3 on 7/21/16 (very hot). Work was done very efficiently with good clean up and no problem maintaining a comfortable house temperature.

It was an unbelievably smooth experience.  They protected our furnishings and flooring, cleaned up thoroughly each day, were polite, professional, and respectful.  They made this major remodeling job seem like a cat walk.

Amazing. ReVisions were the best contractors I've ever had in my home. They were fast, efficient, and had great attention to detail. Aside from the fact that the furniture was in weird places (which we moved), you would never know they were even here. They were meticulous in cleaning up after themselves. In addition, the windows are AMAZING. Easy to operate, sound-proofed, and just really attractive from the outside.

Since purchasing our first home we have had many disappointing and frustrating experiences with other vendors, so working with Revisions was like a breath of fresh air. We contacted 3 different vendors when we knew we wanted new Marvin windows installed on the first floor of our home. After the estimates came in, Revisions was the obvious choice. Not only were they the least expensive, but they were honest and forthright, never pushing add-ons or extras, they were great with communication, and obviously passionate  and knowledgeable about what they do. Patrick came to take the initial measurements. The man LOVES windows. After the estimating work was done he stayed for another 20 minutes just talking about Marvin windows. When you are spending as much as is necessary for good windows, having someone who is so intimately accquanted with them is what you want. The 8 - 10 weeks lead time after we placed our order was accurate, and the crew they sent did an excellent job, not only with the install but with draping our furniture with plastic and cleaning up after themselves when the install was complete. When it came timeto pay the bill they found they had put an extra $30 on the invoice by mistake. They could have not said anything and kept the money, but instead they apologized for the error and made the adjustment. These are people you want to work with! We love our windows and are so appreciative to Revisions foor making our install such a great experience.

We moved into a unique and charming old house with windows in need of replacement due to cracks, thin glass, cracking caulk, etc. It was hard to part with them because they added a lot of character to the house but Re-Visions really made it a point to help us find windows that kept with the look and feel of our home. We didn't want windows that looked like they didn't belong. I felt comfortable with Re-Visions because I could see that they appreciated the "good old bones" and unique-ness of the house.  
We are very pleased with the work Re-Visions did with our windows. They were very responsive with any questions we had and thoroughly explained our options and the process of installing the windows. Day of installation, three guys arrived on time and quickly got to work. They did a fantastic and thorough job. The windows are an excellent fit. It's been several months now (plus a lot of rain and snow) and the windows are still great!

Revisions installed 9 Marvin windows, which included a bay window, and
they capped all 20 windows on the house in 2 days.  In addition, they discard the
old windows for you. 
Their craftsmanship is the highest quality, and just as
important, they were on time and efficient.  I love these guys!

1)  Did an excellent job of explaining how their windows are made, what windows met our needs to maintain the same look of the exterior of the house.
2) Did double measurements using 2 different people to insure correct measurements for the windows manufacturing.
3) Delivered the window in the quoted time frame.
4) Day of install; a) put down plastic and cloth tarps, inside and out, to insure that dirt and debris didn't damage furniture, rugs and plants outside, b) did a careful job of ripping out the old windows, c) installed the window (that fit exactly as it was suppose to - great initial measurements), d) finished off the inside and outside trimming, e) cleaned up after themselves (did a very through job), f) installers explained all of the workings of the windows and best way to finish the interior wood framing, g) most important the installers conducted themselves in a very professional manner and did the work in a very timely manner.

There were four guys each day and the attention to detail was above expectations. 

We received quotes from three window companies and Revisions offered the best price and tingling for installation. Patrick was great to work with. He was very honest and professional. The crew of installers was friendly and did great work.

We worked with them before and we’re working with them again.  They are very responsive in all sorts of different ways.  They are very professional and surprisingly their prices are actually less than other people.  The prices of windows are expensive generally.  It is sort of across the board not really their choice.

I am very happy with the new windows as well as the installation.  The two carpenters who came over to install the windows understood the importance that I placed on preserving as much of the existing wood as possible.   They did a fantastic job.  The salesperson who initially sold me the windows stopped by during the installation to verfiy that everything was fine and that I was happy with the windows.  If I replace more windows, they will be my first and only call.  The finished product and workmanship look fantastic. 

This company was recommended to me by our neighbor across the street who was extremely pleased with their service and professionalism. We asked them to come out and quote our job. Their price was considerably lower than the major competitor in the Naperville area handling this product. We chose the Marvin Infinity product because of the quality and lower profile over vinyl window inserts. While the price is higher, we definitely appreciate how well they look in our house. The quote process was easy
 with excellent response and follow-up.
The crew that worked on our job was excellent. I can't say enough good things about their professionalism, care and quality of work. If you are in the suburbs, ask for Leo. He is as good as they get when it comes to managing the job and making sure it is done right. Our job was completed in 3 1/2 days which included the window inserts and cladding the trim on the outside. Nothing was disturbed on the inside and all existing trim was retained. We had to remove window treatments but that was the extent of our inside preparation. We replaced 23 windows in total.
Our windows are very quiet and eliminate a lot of exterior noise. So far, winter has not given them the big test but we expect substantial savings on our heating costs. All in all, a painless and satisfying experience!
