The work went great,
We were just finishing the outside construction of an addition to our home, so the back yard was completely dug up and a mess.
We met several times to discuss what we wanted and they worked well with us,  adding good ideas and scaling back things we thought we could do ourselves.
All said,  in the front yard they dug up and removed some old large plantings,  completely scraped the front yard and covered it in mulch,  added a small crushed stone patio in the front, planted several small planting and one tree.
In the back yard,  they had to clean quite a bit from construction,  level the yard, install large stone patio with walkways and steps leading from the 2 back doors to the garage, sod for the portion of grass,  many trees and small plantings.
They were always here when they said they would be and we were very happy with the results.

Jerry was wonderful. He listened patiently to my litany of wants and managed to get my 90% of my wishes. The remaining 10% was due to my budget. He used as many existing plants as possible.

Would definitely use them again. They're not the most inexpensive but the outstanding service makes up for it!!

Fabulous quality, team, and responsiveness. They charge a price premium but we think they are worth it with what is provided, our busy schedules and being new home owners. They always deliver top results. The team in particular is wonderful from management on down.

The initial consultation was in mid April for design ideas and estimate. A few days later I was supplied with a nice schematic, color photos of the plants that were to be installed and the estimate. The day of the actual installation had to be coordinated to avoid other work being done at my house that also involved a crew and multiple trucks but yet get the plants in the ground at the optimum time. On Friday May 16 Dan (from Am Gardens) called to check on how things were going and I told him that the other company had done all they could and now their work waited on city inspection. Dan said they could do the landscaping the next day, Saturday. Dan arrived first to go over the new design and a few things else I wanted done. The crew showed up soon after. The whole crew was here for four hours, half the crew left at noon. Dan appeared several times to see how things were going and to bring extra materials. They were very good at coping with my additional wants and needs even if it was inconvenient. I asked for extra mulch which had not been calculated into the amount they brought and it was politely and quickly dealt with. They also installed fence around my new tomato garden, did edging and trimming and all these little things that I kept seeing that I needed these done but forgot to mention earlier. One of the best parts was the way they clean up. I wish the other contractor would clean up like this company does.

The landscaping is beautiful.  We have received numerous compliments from neighbors.  Dan did a great job designing the project.  Frank (project manager) and his crew did a great job of installation.  During the process, Dan and Frank were in constant communication with us regarding the schedule (we had a few delays due to inclement weather).  Frank was on site daily checking progress.  The installation crew was courteous, hard-working and kept the site as clean as possible during installation.  They did a great job cleaning up at the end of the job also.  Dan stopped by a week or so after completiion to review plant care with us.  He also told us to call with questions any time and also that he would be happy to stop by if we wanted him to look at any of the plantings.  This company defines "Customer Service"!

I cannot say enough good about Dan and his team.  First of all, Dan is extremely easy to talk with and follows through with what he says he will do.  From the beginning to the end he is communicative, honest and trustworthy... things you don't see with many landscape contractors.  He and his company are creative, professional and very quality and customer driven.  Follow up services and warranty issues have never been an issue.  They truly stand behind their work.

After consulting with the company's landscape specialist, we hired American Gardens Inc for lawn and landscape maintenance. We have found in the past that other companies contract to take care of the landscaping as well as the grass but don't.  Our grass and landscape has never  looked better.  They trim the landscape often. The first day they worked for 8 hours manicuring and cleaning up in may, 2011.  They spend about an hour each week as opposed to getting in and out as fast as possible. They are worth the extra money.  We plan to use them for some downspout solutions and landscape design in the near future.

They do garden design, regular landscape maintenance, fall and spring cleaning, garden build up and tree planting kind of stuff for us. I think we've been doing garden design with American gardens probable for ten years. We've built a number of gardens with them. They are so good that we have neighbors using them for garden design now. They've also done brick work for us. They've coordinated a design for architectural fences in the garden. They've helped us on fountains and we're having a custom made fountain which is made of granite stone. They are extraordinary. Their president is a man named Dan. I think it's once I'd told him to look that up, but he is just superb in service and really good in terms of garden design. They are very excellent in terms of somebody to use for your regular maintenance on your gardens, your lawn, your home and the areas outside your home. They have done Christmas decorations for our house a couple of years in a row and they're just great for that. We use them for a lot of things and they are always very professional and wonderful. They are exceptionally good in all categories. We have used other garden companies but we didn't like them because they were nowhere nearer to this company.

This was my second project with American Gardens and it turned out as well as the first. I met with landscape designer George Allen in early March to outline the project. He returned within a week to present a plan that nicely blended the new landscaping with existing landscaping at the front of the house and the work that American Gardens had done in my side yard 2 years ago. When the time came to do the actual work, I was out of town, but my next-door neighbors commented on how efficient and considerate the work crew was. That was important to me because a lot of work was done in an area next to my neighbor's driveway. The new landscaping looks wonderful and was easy to maintain this past year. I'm very pleased with how the project turned out and would definitely work with American Gardens again on any future landscaping projects.

This was my second project with American Gardens, and it went as smoothly as the first. The first appointment was held within a few days of my initial call, and I then had the proposal within a week. I approved the plan without any changes. Approximately two - three weeks later, a subcontractor arrived to remove the old shrubs. They did the work quickly and cleaned up the area before they left. The new landscaping was put in approximately one month later, once the plants became available from the nursery. (The work was done in early spring.) The result is fantastic. I think the new landscaping looks terrific, and I've received many compliments from my neighbors.

Process went great, George visited us on a few occasions to review a couple of concepts and ideas. He was open to creating a plan that included plants we were interested in and incorporated these with suggestions he had as well. Included in our plan is a screened in porch, pergola, new patio, new front walk, flower beds with trees and scrubs through out the yard with a fountain / rock garden (focal point) plus create curb appeal and privacy we seek. We now have a complete design (blue print) plus detailed inventory of trees, scrubs and perennials with estimated cost for completing this vision. We have several remodel projects in process and hope to move forward with landscaping projects soon.

Before this project, the yard was underutilized. The previous owners were avid gardners but there was no real plan, so there wasn't any particular visual interest to the landscaping. There was also a large vegetable garden and compost pile taking up a large part of the yard, and no outdoor seating area. George Allen, a landscape designer with American Gardens, listened to my very rough ideas about how I wanted the yard to look and provided a plan that took my ideas to the next level. The landscaping was installed over a 3-day period, and I couldn't be happier with the end-result. George's design plan also included a patio (which was installed by another company) that is now one of the highlights of the yard.

They worked with us. They responded to questions. They coordinated with the plants we already had and made sure to put in easy care, low maintenance plants per our request. They brought out extra stuff that they didn't have in the contract. Work took less time than they expected. On some projects, they did extra stuff that needed to be done in lue of that. They gave us tips on how to take care of the plants. They even left us hoses for the four weeks we had to water all the plants and grass they had planted.

The front of our house had a bad case of overgrown evergreens, but we weren't sure what to do. We drove around looking at other houses but couldn't agree on anything. We talked to other landscaping people but weren't satisfied. We then asked at Luur's Garden Center and they gave us Jerry Milewski's name. He came and we gave him a rough idea of what we wanted. He then prepared a drawing with his suggestions and a few alternates. We reviewed this information with the help of the Internet, called him back to make some changes and then gave him the go ahead to proceed. We are very pleased with the entire job from the beautiful design to the smooth efficiency of the actual work.

Called Jerry on recommendation of my church property person, also had reference. The design was very through and we could have used another landscaper, but felt they would be worth the $ and they were, and are as we have hired them for this year to finish rest. Very professional crew and Jerry was on-site for start, checkpoints, and finish. Work was on-time with no surprises. He also recommended another company to treat our silver maples.
