Mike is the grandson of the founder who started the business 70 years ago. I requested a quote knowing my system would need to be replaced as it was nearly 20 years old and not well maintained by a previous owner. Alan was one of 3 companies to bid the job, and the last to do so. At the end of Mike's assessment and quote I told him that his presentation was so thorough and precise that he had 100% earned my business and it was just a matter of picking which model condenser I wanted. After an inspection of my outdoor/indoor setup, mike proceeded to walk the entire house to inspect vent location and took a measurement in each room to calculate the precise square footage of my home. He sketched the floor plan on an ipad with measurements and detailed notes. It was very impressive. He then explained that split level homes are very difficult/impossible to evenly cool. But, being an Elmhurst company he deals with hundreds of split levels every year. He explained the key to cooling split levels is using a slightly smaller condenser (3 ton condenser instead of 3.5 in my case) to cause the system to run slightly longer which will push a larger volume of cooler air across all of the levels. As opposed to a smaller volume of colder air which a larger condenser would provide. The results are fantastic and my home is staying much more evenly cool. I could not recommend them more highly. Most contractors just want to quickly come out and replace your equipment with an updated equivalent. Alan HVAC took the time to ***** my home and my need and give me an informed recommendation.

Technician Greg came during the appointment window. After he was done I had to request an update. He did not want to check the freon levels in the small 20+ year old central air system that is on our room addition. He simply said it was undersized and we need to set up another appointment with an estimator to consider a replacement system. I asked how many BTU is needed for the room in question and he said only the sales guy can provide that. I asked him why he checked the freon level in the main system but not the addition and he said it is old that is why it is not cooling well and to schedule the sales guy. I called 630.833.1100 around 8:10am the following morning, identified myself and explained that I am fine paying the bill but I was not happy with the lack of troubleshooting done on the 2nd room system and the older man that was taking the calls said "I already know that" and just hung up. I have used Alan Heating in the past and was very pleased with their work but yesterday I had a different tech and the individual answering the phone this morning was not helpful.

It went very well. Both servicemen arrived on time each day (it was a two day process of removing the old furnace and condenser and installing new ones). Matt, one of the servicemen, was very good in explaining how the new system worked. He walked my wife and I how to set up the new thermostat. He answered every question I had and explained his answer that was clear to me.

Job was done on time in a most professional manner. Workmen were experienced, professional, courteous and a pleasure to deal with. Work was extremely well done and I am totally satisfied.

I 've used their services for about five years. They are a small company.  They are reliable and come quickly.  They also troubleshoot some issues over the phone, if possible.

They were very responsive.

They did a quality professional job. They left the premises in a clean condition and offered a reliable service.

It went very well. Alan Heating made the custom boxes to fit right up into the floor vents, came out and spent a couple of hours doing the installation. The work they did was great.

My furnace exhaust fan went out on a Sunday.  I called another "24/7" place that scheduled an appointment but never showed up.  I called Alan Heating late Sunday to see if they could get a person out Monday as they are not 24/7.  Someone picked up and said they could come out that night and at least take a look at it.  The service person showed up when they said they would, diagnosed the issue and gave me a quote for repairs.  The next day he arrived when he said he would, and replaced the part for less than the quote.  None of this was a surprise to me as I have dealt with Alan Heating & AC over the past 10 years and they have always been efficient, professional and knowledgeable.

Alan Heating is very good - they have been servicing our units, for several years now - and they are certified Lennox provider. Very professional and do their work on time and quickly. I wish I had them install the furnaces but we will continue to use Alan for all our HVAC needs.

One of the installers was rude and intimidating. They failed to tell us we would need to cut away our viburnum so when they arrived one of the installers yelled at my wife and told her she needed to remove about 70% of this beautiful tree. When she expressed concern about cutting away so much.. He told her to get over it. If it it died too bad. The installer had back issues so he was unwilling to move the unit in from the other side because it would need to be lifted. We have always had good service and friendly installers, but this guy was terrible.
