Z BEST LANDSCAPING & MAINTAINCE INC

I've called three times and haven't received a call back in 3 1/2 weeks. This was a problem the first time I hired them.

Oftentimes my driveway was not cleared until late in the evening but, once the crew arrived, they cleared the driveway and walks very quickly. However, after a significant snowfall, two large sections of turf were torn up when the crew cleared my driveway. I called Z Best and was told that they would come out and regrade and repair the damage in the spring time. I called in the spring to inquire as to when the repairs would be made. My calls were never returned and the repairs were never made. It's a shame. A family friend had offered a glowing recommendation and I had selected this provider on the basis of that trusted friend's enthusiastic review. But, if a company promises to make something right and doesn't follow through on its promise -- and doesn't even respond when I try to contact them -- then I feel no need to use them again. Furthermore, I certainly wouldn't recommend them to anyone I know.

They did a beautiful job. The sidewalk is beautiful and the landscaping was well done. I think that there was something that died and it took them a while to get back to me. I think it was in the beginning of the season; so they were busy, but they replaced that. Their initial response was good though. The reason I hired them was because I wanted the sidewalk and also wanted the landscaping, but it was hard to find somebody who would do both; so I felt that the price was good.

They did a very good job. I think they were great to work with. They were punctual and professional, and I would give them my recommendation.

Excellent experience! Highly recommended! This company was a referral from a friend of mine who recently had a stone patio installed. Mike Wirth was my main contact at Zbest and was an absolute pleasure to work with. I later researched them on Angie's list and saw they received a good review and had an impressive website. Mike met with us once to give the initial quote and then 2 more times to finalize the plans. He was extremely flexible, honest, personable and negotiable. My front yard looks beautiful and the price was right. I plan to have them back next year to install a patio in my backyard. I have had the experience of working with several contractors in the past (roofers, siding, garage built, floor finishing, HVAC, etc.). I get several quotes before hiring anyone. There are hundreds of landscapers in the Chicagoland area and we received at least a dozen quotes. Zbest was by far the best landscape company we worked with (they beat out Grant & Power who was written up in all sorts of design magazines - see my review on them for more information).

Mike walked around the yard with me and described what Z Best can do to address the drainage problems I'm having. He promised to mail a quote but never did. I left a message with his office, and haven't gotten a call back.

My yard looks fantastic when they are finished and I am always really impressed. They make sure to clean up all of the trimmings really well and the staff is all professional and hard working. The price is great and I really like them. We pay yearly for the service.
