I dropped off the camera to be cleaned and checked in January. It was a 30 year old SLR Olympus that my college age daughter was going to use for a photography class. I hadn't used it in about 7 years so I wasn't sure if everything worked. They called me a day or two after it was dropped off and said they had cleaned it but hadn't checked the camera because it needed batteries. So I bought the batteries and went back to United Camera. They put in the batteries and checked the camera while I waited. I was very pleased with the service.

The employees were very patient in explaining new ways to get better pictures from my Nikon D300. They reset my camera settings and checked out the camera. No charge. I would definitely go back.

They very professional. All phone questions were answered politely. The work was done in the estimated time frame. An additional item was needed for the camera and I was called for approval and told why it should be done. No fuss or drama. I found their location a bit tricky to find since there was some construction going on in the area.

Shipped Nikon D70 camera body to United on a Friday, had it back within a week, paid the posted flat-rate price. The blemish was gone from the image sensor and the camera cleaned up nicely. Return packing was excellent. Would not hesitate to use United Camera again.

Very good choice of lenses for my camera. Very quick to pick up - I rented it for a week. I didn't need it for That long and returned it early. They gave me the 3-day price instead of the week long price we agreed On. When I brought it back, it was a Saturday and the traffic on the Kennedy delayed me. I got there exactly at closing time and they were locking the doors. They reopened the door for Me and said and quot;welcome!and quot; Instead of and quot;we're closedand quot; and I was able to return the lens ( and at the Lower price) that saved me another trip in from the far NW suburbs on another day. Day. Thank you!

couldn't have gone smoother. signed up online and printed a shipping envelope. got continual email updates from vendor through the quick process. received a working lens a few days later. awesome.

The end result was fine. Getting there was a struggle. I dropped the camera off 12/21/2012. Was given an esitimate, paid the estimate and was told the camera would be ready within 10 days. I called in 10 days and found the camera had been shipped to the factory for repair, adding 30 days to the repair time. I was called when the camera came back, picked it up and began clicking away.er Lane

My computer had stopped working abruptly. I took it in to the Genius bar at an Apple store and they determined it was either a hard drive issue or an operating system issue, but they couldn't determine which without doing a clean install. So they recommended I take it to an Apple certified service provider to back-up my data. There aren't many of these in the area and United Camera and Binocular Repair is (interestingly, despite the name) one of them. So I called them, told them my issues and bought an external hard drive and dropped off everything at their place in Bensenville. Over the next few days that they had my computer, we exchanged several phone calls about updates etc. They even gave me my computer to have over the weekend with its hard drive hooked up externally because it seemed to be working that way. They determined that the issues I was having were neither hard drive issues or operating system issues but a bad wire going to the hard drive. He apologized for it taking them so long to figure out because he says they almost never see this. I, on the contrary, was thrilled not to have it be a hard drive issue. So they charged me $99 for the repair and labor which I thought was very good deal for the great service I had gotten. I was also very pleasantly surprised to get my newly bought external hard drive back unopened. So that saved me another $89! I am happy to know about this place.

I sent them to them, they repaired it and sent it back to me. I chose them because I couldn't find anybody locally that would work on them. They were good about letting me know what was going on by email. They have a web site that you can go on and check the progress also. I would use them again.

The camera, which uses compact flash cards to store photographs, was unusable because its flash card reader had failed, apparently because of a bent pin. Since the camera was almost five years old, I considered replacing it, but when United Camera gave me a very good price in an online estimate, I packed it up and sent it off. As it happened, that was on Friday, June 29, just before the great storm -- the derecho of 2012 -- that downed power lines all over the Washington area. United Camera received the package on July 3, and, in spite of the intervening holiday, repaired it, cleaned it, and got it back to me on July 10. It works perfectly and I couldn't be happier.

The fact that they were able to fix my camera made me happy. The people working at the front desk were very professional. I really liked them. They were excellent. They were very efficient, and their prices were competitive.

They are an online service. I would highly recommend then.

I sent my camera in for repair and was charged $59. I received the camera back and the lens still appeared to be broken. I contacted them right away and they provided a shipping label to send it back. They promptly refunded what I paid as they have a guarantee that it will be fixed right the first time. They then contacted me before sending it back to tell me they had tested it numerous times and the problem did not recur. The customer service was excellent. I received my camera back and it now works properly. I was pleased with how they handled the situation.

United Camera Service e-mailed a UPS label for shipping, regularly updated status of the repair on their website and returned the lens to me within 2 1/2 weeks. The lens now functions better and produces sharper images than when I first purchased it. I had mentioned that I hoped to have it returned in time for a trip to Costa Rica. They had it back to me in plenty of time. I'm extremely satisfied with the United Camera Service.

I had dropped my digital camera (Kodak Z7112) and the mode selection dial had broken off. I got a quote of $50 for the repair and return shipping, mailed it out to them, and got it back, including a full inspection and cleaning. They also replaced the top cover at no extra charge. All was done in a very reasonable amount of time, and I was able to follow the process on line. I called before I mailed it out, and they answered their phone and were very friendly and helpful.
