It went great!!!  Don is a very knowledgeable man when it comes to fixing the good things!!  Not only did he help out with carrying in my beastly TV into his workshop but he was a real pleasure to talk with.  His work shop is filled with many memorable things from my younger days!  When the work was done and he replaced all the parts that had gone bad and I went to pick up the TV, he connected it and hooked it up for me to an HD source and the TV came on very bright and vibrant like the day i had just brought it home the first time!!  Don charged me for parts and labor and it was honestly very fair.  I have another 65 inch Mitsubishi that I am bringing into Don to take a look at and see if his magic can be worked once again.  I have since brought a couple of friends and family here for their TV issues and he has been able to help them all!!  I was very lucky to have come across this place, Don and his staff have found themselves a regular customer for years to come!!

He said it take some time but he would give it 110% which is exactly what he did. He also kept in touch with me to tell me how it was progressing and what was going on. I am glad that he took the time because without the diagram it is hard to determine what to replace and what to replace it with.

This was the first time this had been done in at least 29 years. What I liked is that even though the amp is old, he did not replace anything that was not broke, only did what needed to be done. Also, he took $30 off the original estimate because it did not take as long as he originally thought. There's also has some very cool vintage stereo equipment there.

Don is a great guy with fair prices and quality work. What more can you ask for?

He did a beautiful job and is an extremely knowledgeable man. I thought he was very compasionate and in the past, I have had other TVs fixed and did not see them for two weeks. We brought it home and it worked beautifully. There was one problem which started and was completely different from what he worked on. When he had the TV the first time, I can tell he went above and beyond and fixed other problems. We brought it back and he had it done in two days, charging nothing. He thought he should've spotted the problem. He also, after realizing my situation, found us a loaner. It is almost a 50 mile drive round-trip, but he was so nice, professional, explained things clearly, prices were modest, and was a gold nugget! He really knows his stuff and treated me like a human being. I also bought his loaner TV for $75.

Don Evans, owner of Elk Grove TV and Video Service, is extremely personable, performs exceptional and high quality work, and has a deep and extensive range of knowledge regarding audio/visual equipment from the 1950s to the present. Following is a list of items he has repaired for me and my family. For me, he re-coned a pair of Advent speakers purchased sometime in the late 80s or early 90s. For my sister, he repaired a pair of Klipsch speakers; a RCA MCS Integrated Amplifier Stereo receiver; replaced a needle cartridge and stylus in a RCA MSC Quartz Direct Drive turntable, customized speaker wire to length and placed caps on the end of all wire; and replaced a circuit board on a “Touch Lite” lamp, all of which is of vintage stock from the 1960s to the present. For my oldest brother, he replaced speakers in a pair of Sherwood speaker boxes; he repaired an older version Sherwood tuner and a Sherwood amplifier, all bought in Vietnam in 1966. For another brother, he repaired a pair of JBL speakers; a German made Thorens turntable; a Gemini turntable (used by dance DJs); and an older version Sansui receiver. Finally, for my younger brother, he repaired a horizontal problem on a CRT TV (pre-flat screen) and he repaired a Bose radio, which Bose refused to repair. I highly recommend that if you give Don a call if you have any audio/visual equipment repair needs.
