Do not use this company. This would be a 0-star review if Angi would allow it. TL;DR: Two service calls and almost $1000 later I had a boiler that was no longer working, had a leak in the backflow valve, and had been cursed out and hung up on by the owner. What happened: I called the number on our new home's boiler to have the company come do a check-up and to see why the boiler was discharging. Garret Jr. came out and told me "the boiler looks good and is properly working". That same night the boiler broke and my family went without heat. I called and AH Heating and Cooling came back the next day (Joey and Dan) to take a look. They had to completely replace the pump on the boiler. $700 and a leaking backflow valve later (note the backflow valve was not leaking prior to Joey and Dan's visit) I was assured that our boiler was in working condition (with the exception of the leaking backflow valve of course...). That night (so for the second night in a row) our boiler went completely out cold. I called the company that night and was told no one was available and that my family would go without heat again. I called another company and the service tech was immediately able to determine that both the thermal couple and the gas valve were faulty and my family had heat that night. When I called the next day for a refund of the services rendered I was told the owner was out of town and that the company would check to see what could be done. The owner (Garret Sr.) called me back and after 5 minutes on the phone, he was cursing me out asking me "who I thought I was" and "to go F myself". The phone call ended on this note with the owner hanging up on me. Needless to say, we will not be working with this company moving forward and I highly recommend you stay away.

It went very well. Our home is slab on grade and half of the ductwork was in the slab and half was in the attic in the addition. The existing system was not up to code and needed to be rotated 90° due to a small space and the water heaters location, in the attic addition all of the ducts were flex runs that were not properly sealed and had kinks. The system was past its life expectancy so we knew we were going to have a big project. However when we removed the furnace and saw the lower plenum chamber where the ducts in the slab connected to the furnace we had a HUGE issue. The box had decayed and either ground water or condensation had caused the concrete to spall and expose the pea gravel. The ducts were heavily decayed and or corroded and the decision was made to abandon the ducts in the slab. (This decision was MINE, not Arlington Heights Heating & Cooling, I want a clean safe efficient system to heat & cool my house.) This in turn caused ARLHVAC to have to run both returns and supply throughout the entire house in the attic spaces. They made a difficult job look easy, and they did an excellent job. Passed Building Inspectors review with flying colors and I have a safe, clean, efficient and reliable system.:) The best part is that if you call them, even after hours, they ANSWER the phone. No phone tag, no messages. You speak to them ASAP. Its awesome, and I cannot say enough great things about them. You get what you pay for and believe me, they are worth every penny.
