Actually, I am the one who got Adams Roofing onto Angies List and have continued to use them ever since.
Absolutely never the smallest problem with them or their work or the materials.  No one else gets to touch my or my mother's roofs!

Everything was good. They're timely and polite.

They did a great job and we're happy with the results.

Adams Roofing sent some very quickly to make the immediate repairs after the storm, which I appreciated. They literally made the repairs within hours of my call, without me needing to be home. That was amazing.
But, once I needed help with actually fixing the damage, the process slowed down considerably. They offered to send estimates to the insurance company directly. I think the fact that my insurance company wasn't covering the entire roof made Adams Roofing not interested in my business. They seemed to have put me into a category of "little customer" and it would take 3-4 phone calls to get a response. I am willing to fix the damage without the need of insurance funds, but they keep telling me to just deal with my insurance company. There's not even a willingness to come out an give me an estimate. I guess that's another issue that surprised me--I've asked several times for the estimate they sent my insurance company and they won't send it to me. 
Again, I really appreciate their responsiveness to the emergency, but since I don't have a $20k job to throw them, I don't think I'm the type of customer Adams Roofing is interested in.

They were great. They called and arranged a time. They showed up on time. They called before hand, to let me know they were on there way from their previous client. He spent a few minutes going over the insurance quote with me, and taking measurements, looking around .They did come back once post that meeting, and said I didn't need to be home, but, called and gave me a heads up, just to let me know they would be stopping by. My father was a roofer in Indiana, and a son of some folks he had worked with recommended this company to us.

We were delayed with the original start date due to the response time of Cook County for the permit.  Then we had several days of bad weather, but as soon as it was feasible to work and permit received they were here.  Adams roofing took care to protect our brick driveway, they worked hard and cleaned up at the end of each day.  While working in the attic a cracked bathroom vent, pictures were taken, emailed to our plumber and a time set for him to come out and repair the pipe before the new insulation was installed.
Charlie took time to explain what they were doing and why, he pointed out things that may have caused problems in the past, explaining what they were doing would prevent or solve problems in the future.
He listened to me when I asked about making a change order in the attic and agreed with my ideas.  Making a change order some times puts project behind the original schedule, but that did not happen, Adams Roofing was flexible and able to accommodate.

Adams Roofing has wonderful customer service and absolutely is in business to relieve any anxiety we may have.  They have a beautiful results and stand by their workmanship.  Skilled trouble-shooting and prompt service are so necessary when dealing with our severe weather!  Teamwork and a genuine desire to help has been my observation.....

I called and reached the company on the first try and found them very helpful.  An appointment was set up and a very pleasant and polite young man came out and evaluated what needed to be done and measured the area.  Later that day we received a price quote and agreed to it.  I later asked about a discount and one was given off the already agreed upon price.
 
The work was then done in a timely manner and the area cleaned up nicely.  I am very happy with the job they have done and highly recommend them.

I showed them the problem and they came up with a solution. It was very good, I am happy with the results. They cleaned up everything and they were professional.

Let me start out by saying that I do not work for this company, but was highly impressed, we had a tear off on the old roof and new roof put on. We acquired 3 bids form local roofers because I get home at 5:30 from work two of the contractors came out at there conveyance when I was not home to measure the roof and mailed us there proposal which I was OK with. Mark the sales rep from Adams roofing took the time to ask me what would be a good time to come out, and I told him " I know most people are on there way home from work by 5:00 p.m. but if he could stop by at 5:30 p.m. that would be great". He said no problem and showed up right on time, I walked the roof with him and told him my concerns. Every thing was addressed verbally and spelled out in the contract (which I received in the mail per my request 4 days later). Adams was the middle price between the 3 roofer estimates, but because of Marks easy going attitude (No high pressure sales tactics) and took the time to come out that was covenant for me,Complete roof tear off and replace with asphalt shingles I chose to go with Adams roofing. However I was still sceptically because all three roofers had a clause in the contract about paying extra for rotten wood that they would replace, if found once the roof was torn off. Well I know of one person who had a roof put on and had an extra $500.00 added to there bill which may or may not have been needed OR acutely replaced but hard to tell if you are not home and don't see the wood being replaced. Mark told me they would document rotten wood with pictures, but still being sceptically I was waiting for an "Up Charge" of some sort. Mark said his crew should be out in about 2 weeks if the weather holds out (this was done in early October) after we singed the contract. Well they were out in one week!  They had the whole roof torn off and re roofed in one day with no scraps or nails or trash to be found in the drive way or bushes. Not only am I a skeptic I am also a nit picker so I went up on the roof to inspect the job which looked great but had a few concerns about the flashing height around the chimney. And some chalking. I took some photos and E mailed them to Mark & Robert Panayi (the Vice President) explaining my concerns. I called Robert Panayi to asked if he received my E mail with the picture the next day. Expecting to get the a brush off, I was shocked when he said "I want you to be happy with your roof " and will have some one call to set up a follow up appointment. The next day sure enough we got a call and set up an appointment on the next Saturday (when I would be home). Charlie came out and met with me I showed him what I found he addressed the issues and went the "extra mile" he said AND DID walked the roof to double check the work (not that any thing was wrong or stood out) for nail pops, chalking, flashing ect. Charlie even asked me if I wanted the "stink stack/stand pipe" lead covers to be painted to match the flashing, which is unheard of !! Charlie even made two trips one to address my concerns and QUALITY final inspection which took him a few hours, and went to get paint to paint the stacks. This guy should get a raise! OH I for got to add, I had NO up charge they found no rotten wood. But if they did after dealing with them now, I would have believe them they have earned  my trust and I would recommend them highly!

The roofers arrived on time and covered the roof with flower beds as protection. A truck was present to collect debris from the old roof. They removed any piece that fell on the grass as well as nails. They have done a professional job.  

Dan from Adams was very reponsive in providing an estimate, adding my changes to Adam's proposal and providing proof of insurance. Adams was the lowest bider of the 3 contractors I solicited for bid.  In my younger DIY days, I have read a book on roofing and have done about 8 roofs for my homes, friends and relatives.  The work perfomed by Adams was according to the book.  They torn off the old roofing down to planking, nailed down the loose planking, used ice sheid and tar paper for the sub-roof and applied the new roof in straight rows. They protected my grass/plants, brick side-walk and my house as well as the neighbors with coverings.  They cleaned out the gutters and picked-up roofing debri around the property.  All this worked was courteously performed in one day.  I would definitely use them again.

Crew arrived early, conversed with my husband regularly, sales/estimator stopped by twice to monitor progress. Problem=permit was never displayed even after we asked.

Easy to work with, punctual. Side work very good. Regarding the roof repair, I thought they could've replaced a few more shingles. But it's good.

They were responsive, easy to talk to and there were no surprises.

They worked hard. When they first showed up (on time) they discovered that the site was more difficult to access than they expected from the original survey. They eventually left and returned the next day with more appropriate equipment. It was VERY windy that first day (they were on the roof - remember), but they worked through the day and made substantial progress. They assured me that the roof would be watertight each night when they finished for the day - which was good because we got pretty good thunderstorms one night. No leaks. It did end up taking them longer than they originally expected - I believe they were on site parts of 4 days whereas they thought originally that they might finish in 2. I'm not surprised - I think the job was probably more work than they expected. It was fine. They were professional. Cleaned up each evening. Were always curtious. I was quite nervous replacing the shingles on the entire roof, but they were great. They made me feel like I was in good hands. It's done. It looks great. I'd be happy to recommend them to anyone.

They called me back, scheduled a time, and came for a quote. They were very knowledgeable, polite, and professional. However, I thought their quote was a little high- it was at least $3000 more than any of my neighbors paid for their new roofs. I am still searching.

Their estimate was too high so I am unable to go with them.

They did a good job. They knew what they were doing. They were very professional. They cleaned up very well after themselves. I did not see any messes they left. I would recommend them to other people.

Adams did a great job. They did a very detailed inspection of my roof. They were a bit higher in their estimate than other roofers, but they also used quality products. They were also the only ones to recommend venting more in line with my roof type. I was impressed with their knowledge of roofing. They answered all of my questions thoughtfully and in great detail. I did not feel rushed at all. The job was done on time and very well. The crew was very polite and professional. The clean-up was outstanding. I did not find one nail or piece of roofing material anyplace on my property. They explained all of their costs in great detail, I had no surprises at all. I am very pleased with Adams and would definitely use them again. Highly recommended.

Once they got the area of damaged roof open it was a smooth deal from start to closer.

They are very attentive to detail. I had gotten three different quotes and I felt that this was the best choice to go with. They were not necessarily the cheapest, but I felt I was getting my monies worth and a quality job done. I will definitely call them again in the future.

They were outstanding. I later had a problem and they came right out and fixed it with no problem. I would highly recommend them.
