 + 0 moreHIS WORK IS METICULOUS AND FLAWLESS! WE WANTED TO GIVE A LASTING "GIFT" TO OUR HOME AND CHOSE TO MAKE IT A FIREPLACE. WE COMMISSIONED WALTER TO DO THE CARVING/STONE CUTTING AND WE COULD NOT BE HAPPIER. THE FACADE OF OUR HOME HAS STONE CUTTINGS/CARVINGS FROM THE ORIGINAL MASONS/STONE CUTTERS. WALTER INCORPORATED THEIR WORK INTO OUR MANTEL WHILE KEEPING IT WARM AND INVITING FOR INSIDE OUR LIVING ROOM. IT IS BEAUTIFUL, REMARKABLE. HE IS EVERY BIT AN ARTIST AND HONEST BUSINESSMAN. HE DESIGNED OUR MANTEL, RAN THE CONCEPT BY US BEFORE MOVING FORWARD, AND INCLUDED A SPECIAL DETAIL THAT THRILLED US UPON ARRIVAL. THE PROCESS TAKES A LONG TIME, SO PREPARE YOURSELVES FOR THIS IF YOU HIRE WALTER. WE WERE PATIENT BECAUSE WE KNEW IT WAS WHAT WE WANTED... SERIOUSLY WORTH THE WAIT. HE IS THE KIND OF PERSON WHO BELONGS ON ANGIE'S LIST AND I AM HAPPY I CAN ADD HIM JUST AS OTHERS HAVE REFERRED ME TO EXCELLENT RESOURCES. I WISH I HAD MORE MONEY IN THE BUDGET TO HIRE WALTER FOR MORE! MAYBE NEXT YEAR.
Description of Work: THIS STONE CARVER CREATES UNIQUE, TRULY ONE-OF-A KIND MANTELPIECE IN ANY STYLE, FROM CLASSICAL TO TUDOR, FROM BAROQUE TO CONTEMPORARY. EACH FIREPLACE IS CUSTOM CARVED FROM NATURAL STONE OR MARBLE. THESE ARE NOT "CAST STONE" (WHICH IS PRE-CAST CONCRETE WITH STONE DUST MIXED IN) OR "CULTURED MARBLE" (A POLYMER, WHICH IS A PLASTIC OR FIBERGLAS LIKE MATERIAL). WALTER ALSO OFFERS SOME "STOCK", OR MORE AFFORDABLE, STYLES THAT HE CAN CARVE. THESE STYLES CAN BE CARVED IN LIMESTONE OR MARBLE. WALTER ALSO CARVES GARGOYLES, UNIQUE MEMORIALS, OR GARDEN/PARK ORNAMENTATION LIKE LIMESTONE BENCHES.
