In June of 2022 we hired Soto Concrete to replace part of our driveway and do a patio. The job cost $7,000. and in less than a year our driveway started chipping away and is looking more like a gravel driveway instead of a concrete driveway. And recently I have noticed our patio is chipping away. Soto Concrete said it is due to the salt and said it is Our fault because we did not put a sealer coat on the driveway. We were Never told about, asked, or quoted for a sealer coat. There is/was nothing on the contract specifying anything about the importance of a sealer coat or anything about customer refusing the sealer coat. If we were informed about the importance of a sealer coat we would have indeed had our driveway sealed. Soto is putting the blaming on us and the salt. But then why is it also happening to my patio where salt has never touched it.

We had our driveway and patio redone with Soto concrete in the fall. We went with this company because they seemed knowledgeable and friendly. Unfortunately as we brought up concerns we were dismissed and essentially told we were being picky. We hired them for their professional opinion and expertise and have been left very disappointed, especially with how much money we paid for this project. Our driveway is already dusting/chipping and it hasnâ t even been a full year. There are also multiple spots where water pools. We tried to discuss many concerns, specifically the dusting/chipping, with Soto concrete and are being ignored/ghosted. Initially we were told it was due to salting by soto but weâ ve had an unusually warm winter and only salted once or twice. Per Google, this is an issue with concrete mixture, and moisture in the concrete etc.. nothing states salt being an issue after one season. This is only one of the issues but ultimately the biggest one as we really donâ t want to be replacing it or hiring a different company to fix. We will be having a structural engineer come inspect our driveway. Soto should fix or repair what they messed up or at least attempt to find a resolution in some way instead of blowing us off. This is poor business.
