Our concrete contractor surprised us with a quicker than expected install. I called FJ and spoke to Jeff, who came out that afternoon. He explained exactly how he would do it. He said he didn't have an available crew at the time due to short notice but explained to the concrete guy where to lay chases. The next morning Jeff called and said he was sending out a crew to lay all the pipe before the concrete went in! I was very happy. After the concrete was done he came out and went over all the finish work to be done and sent out a guy the next day to set it all up. The inground fire pit turned out amazing and Jeff came through in a big way with great ideas and a thorough understanding of what we wanted! He even understood our need to have redundant shut offs for the gas because of our kids... Great job Jeff!

I used this company twice before, no complaints. I was going to try to install this myself,(Moen Tiffiny Tub/Shower assembly.) but I could see that the plumbing would have to be moved back at least an inch. So I called Jeff and told him in my own estimation, the plumbing would have to be moved back . In the instructions Moen gives two caveats. 1. Remove the plastic valve before any soldering is done. 2. Flush the pipes out before installing the valve. I mentioned this to Matt before he started. He mumbled something which I got the feeling he wasn't totally into that idea. Once this was installed, I had to install a tub surround. Matt capped off the shower spout. OK But the tub spout had a soldered cap. Matt explained once the surround was in, to measure for the spout cut the copper and slide on the spout and tighten the set screw.OK. I put up the surround and the valve assembly is way out past the surrounds opening. I call Moen, to tell them how far the valve is protruding and their response was,"the valve has to be moved back another inch and a quarter". I called Bero back and was told Matt wouldn't be able to come back till the following Monday. After two days, and a return call, the secretary said he would be out at the end of the day. When Matt arrived I asked about cutting the copper, he said "I'm Not Going To Cut Any Copper!" I walked away. What he did was push the pipework back @ one inch and anchored it to two by fours. OK. Tub surround finally in, I hook up the trim, turn on the water, it works! Turn off the water supply again to add more teflon tape to the shower (leaked). When I turned on the water again, the water kept coming out of the tub spout! Called Moen. The valves bad. I had them ship out a new one. When I pulled out the original valve, I found little pieces of solder! Not only that, but the tub spout that was supposed to slip on, my tub spout did not come with that provision. A threaded fitting had to be soldered on first. I complained to Jeff about these things  but he defended his employees work. I will never use Bero again.

Usually they were the plumber we call but at the time they were shorthanded on people. We have nothing but great success with Bero. They have done all the plumbing in our house. Basically they have replumbed the house from main to drain. They have done everything. We have used them for years. I recommend them very highly. They have always performed the service quickly and efficiently. Their pricing seems a little high to me but not terribly high. That's the way it is in the market. They have done 95% of the plumbing work we had done. We have been here for 25 years. They are a solid and reliable company. There has never been a failure. Everything they have done has been fixed properly.

Mike and David made a and quot;tromboneand quot; turn at the end of each of the two feeder runs and installed the return runs above the finned feed lines. This was a simple and effective way of avoiding ripping up the floors in search of the damaged pipes.
They cleverly brought the returns back to the point of origin connecting with the boiler using some really beautifully brazed turns and corners. They checked all of the joints under pressure and added new baseboard enclosures as needed.
We are on a well-and-septic system and the water has a lot of minerals. As a consequence, adding new water to the boiler will create gas bubbles as the heat boils the water. To solve this, they installed a spirovent air separator to eliminate the bubbles and an auto-vent so we can catch and remove tiny particles that can accumulate in well water.
Mike and David arrived promptly every morning with all the necessary tools and parts. They were quick and efficient with their work and everything was neat and orderly every evening and at the end of the process.
The boiler no longer makes gas bubbles so we don't have gurgles from one end of the house to the other. The family room and master bed room and warm as never before and the place looks great.
The invoice matched the estimate when we added in the spirovent and a replacement Fil-trol expansion tank on the boiler feed line I had requested.
These are our go-to guys. They've never let us down in the 42 years we've lived here.

I've used FJ Bero as my plumber for a number of years. I can handle the basic stuff on my own (e.g. clogged pipes and new faucet installs) but when it comes to the more tricky stuff like gas lines, garbage disposals, and leaks from unknown areas, FJ Bero has been my go to plumber. The staff is always very professional and the owner stands behind all their work. Most recently, I've had this tricky leak coming from the shower upstairs that, slowly but surely, came through my dining room ceiling. The builder did a horrible job of it's initial set up and this was not an easy fix. While FJ Bero could have simply just sealed up the drain and went on their way but they went the extra mile to check all the shower faucets, etc. to ensure they got the whole thing resolved. Having to call a plumber on things you can't fix yourself is always frustrating for me personally, but I'm glad I can count on FJ Bero to get the job done right the first time. Highly recommended!

Service was prompt and efficient. I plan to use F.J. Bero for future services as needed. Very pleased with the work and the mechanic. Also, the cost of repair and service call is very reasonable.

Would've been nice to get an estimate before hand since I had no clue how much damage I was in for, and it was quite pricey, since I thought that the initial job would have been quite small, but aside from this nagging sense, glad to have the whole situation resolved quickly within a few hours. Quite reliable service and local to Elgin some 90 years, I think. They knew more about this house than I did.

I had a very good experience with FJ Bero and Company. I called an made an appointment for 9/23/2011. The technician (Greg) arrived at the scheduled time. He checked the ejector pump and the floor drain and determined the problem was a clogged drain line. He rodded out the line and cleaned up the area The drain works fine now. He was in and out in about 45 minutes and the cost was approximately $145.00

Bero sent his staff on time. The work was performed quickly and efficiently with no lollygagging. Staff clearly explained what they did and why. They also saved us money by recognizing that our hot water heater was set too high, and demonstrated how to adjust it. Got the bill in the mail within 48 hours. They accepted my Visa (debit) card over the phone. Overall a smooth, flawless transaction. Highly recommended!

Almost hate to tell you how professional and responsive this outfit is out of fear that they will become so overrun with customers it will be hard to get an appointment next time. No, really, they have managed to stay on top by wise hiring and great company attitude so we're not worried.
