It started off great but then went bad. They moved our fridge back on the floor before the finish was dry so when it dried it was a different color then the rest of the house. We contacted Emanuel and asked to come fix it. His guys have come out twice and the problem is still not fixed. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!

Look no further if you are looking for having your hardwood floors refinished. Emmanuel and his team are HIGHLY recommended to do the job! They are perfectionists! They brought life back into my living and kitchen area floors with an oil-based finish. The work was tedious and took a lot longer than expected but they did not change anything extra. They were very flexible and worked around my schedule. Thank You, Emmanuel!

I hired EMC Floors, Inc./Emanuel Tibu, to install wooden floor on first/second floor and stairs (floor and stair nose provided by customer) for $7150. The job was started on 3/21/16, Emanuel T. and his crew installed the second floor and stairs, they were not able to do the refinishing of the stairs, replace wood broken during the installation of the stairs, including the step-nose on foyer and because of it the riser, baseboard and base-shoe on the foyer (pictures available). They left on 3/23/16, to go to "two new big jobs" (as Emanuel expressed), with the plan of returning on 4/4/16 to continue and complete the job as per contract, they were paid $4000. On 3/23/16, p.m., I received an e-mail with invoice showing $4,000 payment and balance of $3,150, with a note that the wooden floor I had ordered was going to be picked up at Home Depot on 4/2/16 and, that the stair-nose was going to be ordered. By 4/3/16, I had emptied the first floor for floor installation on 4/4/16. On 4/3/16, before going to bed, I checked my e-mail and, had received an e-mail from EMC Floors, Inc., sent that p.m., with an invoice of $0 balance and a note stating that, because I was not happy with their services, they have decided "not to go forward with the second section" of the project. I immediately responded that it was not the case and that I expected them as scheduled. Emanuel, had not picked up the wooden floor at Home Depot on 4/2 as planned and, he did not showed up on 4/4/16 as planned. Emanuel did not respond to text message and e-mail sent on 4/4/16, did not respond to e-mail sent on 4/5 either. In the e-mails, I was giving him the chance to rectify his attitude and to complete the job. Emanuel T., responded to e-mail sent on 4/6/16, where legal action and a report to the BBB was mentioned. Emanuel T. was asked to refund me the $4,000 I paid him if he wanted to brake the contract and not to complete the job. 

After I took them to court, they came back out and resolved the issue. I would hire them again.

My floor is now uplifted after going to court to get him back out to do the first floor. I will give him the chance to come back and if not I will be going to court again. He said he wouldn't come back out to give me his opinion unless I gave him an A rating.

Emanuel was responsive and professional.  He gave us good advice and a reasonable quote.  The project was scheduled promptly and finished step by step on time.
We are happy with the work.  Especially, Emanuel made a trip to help us when we told him we couldn't lift the new floor vents.

Emmanuel and his crew did an great job.  I was never there and gave him access to my condo.  I had no security concerns, the crew was very professional and clean up very nice after the job.  Emmanuel constantly kept me updates on how the project went, it was a 3 day project.  Pricing was very reasonable, I would recommend him to my family and friends.

.EMC was very specific about what they were going to do next and at what time.  Emanuel planned the sanding, etc. based on two rooms at a time.  This made it possible for us to remain in the house throughout . They told us when we would be able to walk on the surfaces (without shoes) and when the rooms would be ready for the furniture to be brought back in.  
They took beds apart and removed drawers from dressers and moved everything extremely carefully.  They reassembled the furniture and moved it back into the rooms at our convenience and wishes.  We had two of the bedrooms painted while they were empty and EMC waited to move the furniture back after the rooms were completed. The last step was the staircase and landing. The arrived earlier than usual so that we would be able to use the bedrooms that night.
Recently, EMC returned to fix a couple of scratches that we made on the landing moving some furniture up from the basement.   They did it at no charge and it looks perfect..
Emanuel and his crews were beyond professional in their work and attitude.  They were helpful with every aspect of the job.

This was a wonderful experience! I just bought a "fixer-upper" 2-flat in Lincoln Square. Emanuel came over to give me a quote immediately after I called him. I was thrilled with the quote and he also fixed several pieces of wood that needed repair/replacement. Emanuel had a great team and he was on-site regularly to supervise the progress. I was thrilled with the result, and my floors look amazing!

My husband and I renovated our home, which included restoring our existing oak floors and installing oak floors in the remainder of the home.  Over the past year, we have worked with just about every kind of contractor there is (plumber, HVAC, tile, drywall, flooring, mason, etc) - Emanuel is one of the most professional and reliable you will meet.
Prior to choosing a contractor, we got several bids from flooring companies and EMC Floors was by far the most fair price.  Right away, Emanuel (owner) impressed us with his punctuality and quick response times.  My husband and I both work, so Emanuel was willing to work around our schedules and meet when we were available.  We got our estimate for services, which was thorough and straight-forward, within 24 hours.  His price was very fair and was much more competitive than the other bids we received.
Emanuel has a staff of highly skilled, hard-working tradesmen.  He and his team take a lot of pride in their work and it shows in all they do - they are punctual, they are detail-oriented, they use quality materials, they clean up after their work is done, and they are friendly and willing to answer all of your questions.  Prior to installing our floors, Emanuel made sure the wood had time to acclimate and visited our house several times to measure the humidity and be sure the conditions were right for installation.  Having spoken to friends and family who have had floors installed, I know not every contractor is this meticulous and that step is often skipped.
The installation went quickly - EMC is efficient and will work long hours to get the job done.  We were nervous about choosing a stain color, so Emanuel and his team took the time to sand, stain, and buff 4 different stain colors in two areas in our house to be sure we could see large samples of each color in different lighting in our home. 
Our floors are finished and we absolutely love them.  Emanuel uses high quality materials and it shows in the final product. He offered a lot of advice on how to care for our floors to make sure they stay in prime condition.  Our friends and family who have seen the floors compliment them constantly.  We are so glad we found EMC Floors and have already recommended them to several people.  I can't say enough about the quality of work and the professionalism EMC Floors displays.

I strongly recommend this company.  We interviewed many wood floor re-finishers prior to hiring Emmanuel.  We selected his company for four reasons:  1.)  His willingness to meet a one-week schedule,  2.)  The product he uses, which we found superior;  3.)  His service of preparing 3 samples for us to choose the stain;  and 4.)  His competitive price.  Also, he was the ONLY re finisher confident enough to stain maple.  Emmanuel has been great from start-to-finish.  He is very "hands on", giving close supervision to his employees and the results are amazing.

I am very particular when it comes to having work done in my home.  There usually is some sort of problem with the work done- that is until i had the pleasure of being introduced to Emanual of EMC Floors, Inc.  Emanual and his team performed miracles on my floors.  After 20 years of kids, toys, teens, friends, parties, cats and dogs, my original 1920's hardwood floors looked like a tear-up.  They were scratched, faded and stained beyond repair - or so we thought.  EMC Floors stripped the floors in the whole house - using the dustless method - and refinished them to look like new.  Emanual and his team was meticulous when moving my furniture and made sure to cover everything in plastic.  When they were finished with the job, a LIGHT dusting was all that was needed. Everyone who walks into my house cannot believe that these are the same hardwood floors. I have hired Emc Floors to sand our hardwood floor in our home. From the beginning Emanuel explained the details of the process. He gave me all the color options and also he detailed all the benefits of the eco-friendly water based finish. We decided to go with the dark walnut stain and 3 coats of water base finish. We are very happy with the results. Emanuel was very professional  and easy to communicate with. He told us the entire sanding process would take 3 days but his crew finished the job in two and a half days. We were worried about the dust accumulating all over the house. When the job was done our home was clean and spotless.
