CONNOISSEUR SLATE & TILE

Connoisseur installed a copper flat roof on my Chicago bungalow in 2006. In 2017 I detected some dampness after some heavy rains. The source was not at all easy to find, but Marty from Connoisseur took the time and effort to diagnose and resolve the issue. This was years after his warranty expired. The work was completed without games or excuses and no fee was charged. Thanks Marty!

They fit me in between major jobs.  They bailed me out.

I was happy with the job,but I didnt care for the crew, They barely spoke english and didnt use any safety equipment.They were supposed to replace the flashing around the chimmeny but when i went into the attic i could see light so i had to have them come back. Due to the fact that i cant get on the roof i'm hoping the flashing was done right.

Work began exactly the day it was supposed to. Tiles were removed in sections and each section was prepared and waterproofed by the end of the day to guarantee there would be no leakage issue in the event of rain. We were informed of anything that might be of concern such as, rotted wood, gutter problems etc. Once the roof was prepared against the elements the tiles were installed. Our property was kept impeccably clean, roofers arrived on time everyday and worked consistently, only to take 2 small breaks and a lunch. Very professional and detail oriented.

After speaking with Martin initially he spent 5 hours on the roof counting broken tiles and evaluating the need of repair around the perimeter. It required replacement of the ice and rain shield and he counted piece by piece the number of tile replacements it would also require. After contracting them, they arrived early in the morning and stayed late into the 3 day process also replacing gutters with copper gutters. The workers were amazing and clearly knew what they were doing. This company is strong, smart and I highly recommend them.

We felt we got the most professional job of reflashing that we could have asked for. We have a cement tile roof and every care was taken not to crack them. Tiles were removed from the base of the chimney and old flashings removed, as well as old silicone, which took some effort due to previous owner's efforts to cover up leaky areas. A new copper watershield and apron was installed around each chimney. New tiles installed where others looked cracked or ragged, otherwise a great job of replacing existing tiles with new copper nails. They went out of their way to add a copper channel to reroute rainwater to prevent any problem spots in our soffitting. We couldn't ask for a more professional job. This job was done perfectly and on time and we feel completely confident in the results. We will definitely call these people again for any future roofing needs.

Carpenters I had hired to replace fascia board on the house and garage broke so many rake tiles there were not enough to finish the garage. The first roofing company I hired did a small amount of roof repair never showed up again and did not return phone calls. Second roofing company I called came out for an estimate told me they would have some figures in a couple days. Never heard from them again. Finally, a friend told me about Connoisseur Slate & Tile. Since these tiles are nearing extinction I was worried they were unobtainable. Marty went the extra mile to help where no one else was even willing to try, and in a day and a half he called with good news, he had found the tiles. By the end of the week they were on my garage. Who knew contractors like this still existed? It was really quite refreshing. Marty is a professional in his field in every sense of the word. Aside from being an all around great guy, his knowledge of roofing and quality of workmanship and knowing what people want from a contractor is unsurpassed. He has a keen eye for what will make your home look more beautiful when you're at a loss for ideas. I have had to call upon Connoisseur since the first time I hired them and have never been disappointed. I am always amazed with their timeliness, consistency of work and the way they keep a job site impeccably clean. Connoisseur has been well worth every penny I have spent and I would and do highly recommend them to anyone needing this service. What I like best about Connoisseur Slate & Tile is not worrying about the work being done.

The job was pretty expensive. He was a very nice guy and he did a good job. I don't see a leak anymore!

They had to remove the tiles on the front of my roof and install rubberized material and copper flashing then put the tiles back on. They arrived before I knew they were coming and did an excellent job on my roof. Overall it was a very pleasant experience and I'd use them again and highly recommend them to others!
