Hy-Tech CARSTAR is a family owned collision repair shop serving the Elgin, IL area. Since our humble start with just two men in a body shop, we have grown and now have two auto body locations, one here in Elgin, IL and another in Chicago. At Hy-Tech, we pay a lot of attention to our highly trained auto body technicians, by ensuring that they are trained by the best so they can deliver the same consistent quality auto body repairs. We provide the outstanding care and concern for our customers and their vehicles before, during and after the collision repair process. My car was rear ended and major reparis were necessary. Hy-Tech CarStar provided us with an estimate on the day of the accident and handled all contact with the insurance providers. My son needed the car to return to college out of state and they indicated that they would try to do their best but estimated that the repairs would take three to four weeks. They clearly did their best because the repairs were completed in 18 days! The car looks great and is working well. The manager kept me posted about the progress being made and answered my questions politely and courteously. I was very happy with the level of service provided and will definitely use their services if needed in the future.

It was pretty quick, explained well, the people are very friendly, and the whole operation works really well. It was actually my first time to have an auto body work done anywhere so I was a little nervous about someone work on my car after it was damaged but it was okay. It was covered by the insurance.

A lady ran a stop sign and totaled the front end of our 2010 Honda Pilot. Hy-Tech Carstar did the body work for the repair. It took over six weeks to complete the body work and repair but our Pilot looks like new and runs great. Throughout the entire process they were courteous and called us frequently to let us know what stage of the repair they were at. When the repair took longer because they had to take the vehicle to Honda for testing, they spoke with the insurance company and the car rental place to make sure we would not have a problem with keeping the rental vehicle for another week. They did a terrific job. Afterwards we had a concern about a light fixture and they fixed it quickly and we were on our way. Overall, they did a great job.

From the beginning to the end they were prompt, professional, and courteous. They did a great job and the vehicle was done a day earlier than promised. How's THAT for service. I would (and will) go there again and have referred many family and friends to them. The biggest job they have done was a $20,000 restoration to a 1968 VW camper bus that I have and it has now won 7 trophies at various car shows due to their work. Recently the tail lights ceased functioning properly and they spent several hours diagnosing the problem and fixing it, all for no charge. They warranty their work for life - even on a 1968 vehicle.
