Tree Service
em a check and they A Terrible experience. These guys were recommende by a relative so we hired them to trim trees
.RED FLAG #1: When we initially called them for an estimate, the guy pressured my wife( mom's full time caretaker) by saying "if we come all the way up there (about 35 miles, are you guaranteeing that we'll get the job" ( add nasty tone).
RED FLAG #2They show up chain saws but (no other equipment , bucket truck etc, and,estimate the the job for around $2200 and demanded $800 up front before they would begin the work.
RED FLAG#3 :We wrote the check and they immediately went to a bank and cashed it saying they needed tires tools etc.Most reputable businesses have their own tools a line of credit for emergencies and cash in reserve.
RED FLAG#4 They returned and sent a guy up a tree with a chainsaw= NO SAFETY EQUIPMENT and they absolutely butcher the tree, ending up cutting it down , leaving a 4 ft high stump.They "trimmed "2 or three other trees with the same dismal and ugly results and then took off leaving half the job not competed and leaving the yard full of tree refuse.(All on 1/16/14)
RED FLAG #5 Repeated phone calls text messages etc resulted in lame excuses ( I had to take my girlfriend to the doctor; It's snowing and too cold...or unfulfilled promises to complete the work as contracted "We'll be there Saturday"... We'll be there Sunday AM... We'll be there Monday AM"
We haven't seen or heard from them since...and we're left with butchered trees and a yard full of refuse.
BTW-The Ameren Crew told us they would have done most of the job free of charge
Steer clear of these guys..the only thing that will get trimmed is your wallet.
