Mark took the time to explain the tuning process. Since the piano hadn't been tuned in a long time it really needed to be double tuned to get it perfect. However, since we are not professionals the standard single tuning was good. The piano sounds great. He was on time and finished in the allotted time frame. The price was as quoted and in line or cheaper than what other piano tuners quoted. He was also able to fit us in before Christmas.

Mark Foss has been a piano tuner for many, many years and is a registered piano technician with the Piano Technicians Guild. He tunes pianos by ear and did an excellent job with ours. I highly recommend him.

My Baldwin spinet piano is about 25 years old. It had been about 5 years since it was tuned, and it moved with us when we bought another house last year. Foss Piano adjusted the pedals and tuned the piano so that it sounds very nice again.

My wife is a university professor of music (piano), as well as a rehearsal accompanist with the Chicago Symphony & Chorus. When her own grand piano needed some serious work beyond tuning several years ago, she "asked around" and was told Foss piano was very good. For the last 8 years, she has only used Mr. Foss to work on her piano, as well as the piano at the church where she is an organist. We have found him to be extremely competent, very reasonable, and his billing always matches his quotation. He is also very personable.
