Everything about the call was fine -- he showed up on time, fixed the washer and the cost was reasonable. What I didn't like is that he held very strong political opinions that were opposite to my own which is, of course, fine. Free country. But I did not appreciate being dragged into a debate I did not want to have about them. The whole encounter became very uncomfortable and I could not get him out the door fast enough. Other than that, the experience was fine.

The service provider was slow.  Didn't come prepared.  As an example, during the repair - the service provider left the freezer door open the entire time while he read the manual on how to fix the water dispenser.  I fully understand that the water dispenser is on the freezer door - but the door should have only been left open during the actual maintenance.  The service provider should have come prepared and have already read the manual prior to arriving at the home for the repair.  The provider also was not very friendly.  When coming to a home with an owner of Viking appliances - and wanting additional work later - the better you treat people - the more likely you will be to get returned business.

He was articulate, on time and had very good communication skills. The job was analyzed quickly and he had the parts needed for the repair. He made out and collected the bill while at the house. He was prompt to come out for the repair. Just a side note. Since moving to peoria from Chicago, we've had many repairmen come out for one reason. Most have been terrible. This young many was great. We can highly recommend him.

The initial response from Don was excellent. He came out within a day to look at our dryer. There was a part that needed to be ordered. He told us it would take 4-5 days for it to come in. It was almost 2 weeks and I had not heard from him so I had to call. He said, "oh, yes I got that part middle of last week and just hadn't gotten around to calling you." That was the only negative part of our experience. He came out within 2 days of my call, repaired the dryer and cleaned the vent.
Don did not charge us for the cleaning, but instead gave it to us as a complimentary service, since we had him install the new part.
Overall, good experience...just a little poor on the communication end of things.

I phoned Freedom Appliance Repair on November 1, 2012 to see if they could repair an oven at my rental house.  I indicated that the problem was most likely the igniter.  I gave him the name an number of my renter and he was prompt to contact them.  He arrived the next day and fixed the problem.
I was pleased that he fixed the issue within 24 hours of my first call, but I have to say I felt his rates were high to me.  He charged about $75 for the part, which I know I could have purchased on the internet for about $35.  And according to my renter, he was there only 20 minutes, but charged $100 in labor.  I don't expect the service people not to make a profit, but this seemed a bit extreme.  The plumber I higher frequently only charges $80 and hour and bills in half hour increments.
He did phone me prior to the repair with the cost, and when I complained about the price he did offer me a lower cost part which would have saved me about $20, but it would also take 3 or 4 days to get the part in.  So I opted to get it fixed right then and there with the part he had on his truck.
He asked where to send the bill and I gave him my address.  Almost 10 days later, I had not received the bill so I phone him and left a message.  He never bothered to call me back, but a week later the bill did finally arrive.

Everything went great.

Owner was very personable and timely.

Had a really nice experience with them. he had the oppertunity to charge me for a part but he told me that wasn't the problem he is just very conscientious. Very very honest and trustworthy
