basement waterproofing
 + -1 moreOn 18 December 2011, when I returned home from work I went downstairs to inspect the contractor's work on the sump pump and water proofing system. Right away I noticed several discrepancies with the sump pump, concrete not properly leveled, and battery back-up improperly installed. I took pictures of the issues and emailed them to Mr. Beau Price of QC Basement Services to show them what I found wrong and would like to set up an appointment for them to return and fix the issues. He called and set up an appointment for the following weekend and never showed. Three days later, the alarm on the battery back-up activated and couldn't shut it down. Had to completely disconnect the sump pump system in order to shut the alarm off. Called and emailed the company again to schedule an appointment and once again, no one showed up. This went on for several months. After a few months of trying to contact the company, I finally reached someone. They stated there had been a death in the family and all worked was backed up. I sent a demand letter to QC Basement Services to fix the issue by a specific date. The letter was returned un-deliverable. The issue was never fixed, the company never replied, and due to faulty installation, the company that makes the system would not honor the warranty.
