The day before this service, we had an emergency issue which we thought was plumbing-related. When the plumber arrived after hours (because the problem arose in the late afternoon when it was very difficult to get someone out on the fly), he said that before he could do anything our septic tank would need to be pumped. --It had been about three years since our last pumping, and just two of us live here, so we were certainly going to do it, but it wasn't the top thing on our agenda. --And because we had to do it sooner than we anticipated, I had no idea who to use.
By the time the plumber came out, it was after six p.m., and I knew the prospects of finding someone to pump the septic tank after hours were slim to none. Funny thing is, for almost all of the companies who claim to offer 24 hour/"emergency" service--they don't. Period. I called several of these places, and for all I called except one, either no one answered the phone, or the person I talked to didn't think it was "emergency"-enough--which was incredibly frustrating. And the one guy who did say yes said that his REGULAR charge to pump a tank was $475, and that after hours would be $800. Are you KIDDING me? I'd done my research and I knew what it cost for a basic tank pumping... We were prepared to go stay at a hotel for the evening, but ended up staying home because it was so late anyway.
We also stayed home because Tim?, from Rieke, returned my panicky phone call, asked us some really good, detailed questions about what was going on, and then said he could be out at 8 am.
Since it looked like no one else was available for "emergency" service, we said yes to that time slot. --This at least let us sleep  easier knowing someone would be coming early in the morning.
Not only was it an early appointment--he came EARLY!!!
He was nice, professional, knowledgeable, and fast. He was done in about 20 minutes--which had him out of the door before our scheduled appointment time! He didn't think we needed the enzyme treatments that the plumber relentlessly kept trying to push on us... It was also nice to know that he'd recently serviced the home of one of our neighbors.
We wouldn't hesitate to bring Rieke Septic Services back out.

At 10 pm on a Sunday night I realized I had a major plumbing issue.  None of my toliets would flush and they were making a gurgling sound.  I called Rieki Monday morning at 8:30 am  and they were at my home at 9:30.  By 10:00 the system was back to normal.  Great service and a friendly company.

Called and made an appointment. Driver showed up just as planned, performed service, and left. Sent a bill to my husband later.

They remembered my warning that my wife was worried about the low evergreens she had planted that were next to invisible under the snow. We could see by their tracks they had taken care to avoid the plantings. The area we live in along the Fox River has been growing at a very fast rate and more than a few companies have struggled to continue to provide good service as their volumes have increased. Rieke Septic has managed to keep that service orientation.
