The most recent project involved retiling the tub and shower surround, fixing a plumbing problem, installing towel bars and other fixtures.

I first met Dennis Cygan, the owner of Inside Out Home Services approximately five years ago when we renovated the second floor of our home. The following year, we renovated the first floor and basement in our house. Dennis performed almost all of the work himself with the exception of HVAC and some electrical. He handled the demolition, performed the carpentry and trim, put in new floors, took care of almost all of the plumbing, installed multiple bathrooms that included cutting stone to specifications, installed a complicated tile pattern on several walls and in the entry way. During the course of this work, my wife and I came to look to Dennis as a friend. He is the most honest person that I know. He will tell you what can be done and what can not be done because he truly wants to make sure that you understand what is going to happen and because he wants to make sure that you are happy with the result. He starts a job and does not leave the work until it is done. He does not, like many other contractors start and job and stop to work other jobs in. He is extremely smart and, in my experience, has been able to figure out the solution to almost any problem. In short you will never find anyone better to take care of your contracting needs.
But I am writing this review to also tell you all of two additional stories that will give you an idea of what a great man Dennis is. One year after the work in our house was completed, we had a fire that destroyed almost all of the interior of our home. The day after the fire I called Dennis and he immediately came to our home. Dennis' first words to me were, "don't worry, I will get you through this." And he did. I can say without hesitation that I would not have been able to survive the trauma of the fire, dealing with the insurance company, an attempted shakedown by a contractor that the insurance company tried to impose on us and all of the record keeping required. Dennis took over as the general contractor on the reconstruction of our home. He stopped a contractor chosen by the insurance company from dishonest conduct and furthermore worked to force the insurance company to hire an industrial hygienist to verify that mold was in the house from the water used to extinguish the fire and then to confirm that the abatement process had been completed. Dennis walked me through the permit process with the City and found an architect who could handle what he could not do. Dennis again by himself demolished all of the fire damaged portion of the house, reconstructed walls, floors, bathrooms, installed the kitchen cabinets and everything else that could be done. His fine carpentry work is unbelievable. We have multi lawyer molding that was very difficult to create but Dennis made it look wonderful. We are now in our beautiful home thanks to Dennis and have survived this ordeal.
There is one more story that I want to share about Dennis. Two days before leaving the country, we found that we had a leak in our beautiful finished basement. Our basement had never before had a leak in the 30 years we have lived here. Once again I called Dennis who took care of everything while we were out of town. The leak was in part my own fault from a clogged catch basis, from a clogged downspout, and from a sidewalk in the passageway that needed to be replaced because of cracking and a pitch that took water to our foundation. While we were out of town, Dennis arranged for the catch basin to be unclogged, Dennis removed the wet carpeting, Dennis cut out the portion of the wall that got wet, and most importantly Dennis diagnosed the problem.
My family trusts this man to the point that Dennis has a key to our home so that if there is an emergency he can come in on his own. In my experience it is so unusual to find someone like Dennis. His honesty is without question. His skill as a contractor fantastic. He is creative and can suggest great solutions to almost any problem.
It is for these reasons that I am writing this review. I have never written such a review before but I feel so strongly about Dennis that I decided in this case to do so. You will never regret hiring this man. And you will feel lucky that you have had an opportunity to work with him. The family and friends who have used Dennis have all thanked us for recommending Dennis to them.
