Innovative Wood Floors

My wife and I were delighted with the finished product. Throughout the work sessions, the representatives, including the owner, were thorough and professional.

The builder's installation of our white oak floors was flawed.  The floors had been stained with a Golden Oak and coated.  Over time the floors turned toward an orange color and many of the boards had cupped and/or valleyed to the point that you could not slide a chair across many of the boards....the felt pads would get stuck.  Rich and his team sanded the floors twice (once at a 45 degree angle and once with the grain) to level the boards, used a light stain that enhanced the white oak and applied three coats of satin polyurethane.  They are beautiful.  
The challenge for us was removing all the furniture from the first floor.  We got most of it off and Rich's team helped get the heaviest pieces to the garage.  Afterwards they helped us move the furniture back.  
The floor work started on a Monday and was finished by Friday morning.  They came back the next week to touch up some spots they noticed after the floors were dry on Friday. 
We will be using Innovative Flooring this Fall to install hardwood floors on the second floor.

I had some older oak (pegwood) hallway floors that were covered with carpeting when we purchased our home years ago.
There was also an addition (additional hallway and bedroom) that was carpeted, but not hardwood under the carpeting.
I called Richard for a quote to sand and refinish the existing oak floor and install new oak flooring in the addition.
Richard came out promptly and provided a quote that was in line with a second quote and considerably lower than a third. I could tell by the way he answered my questions, that he knew what he was doing. Since they don’t make pegwood flooring
any more, they would have to manually drill each hole and put in the pegs for continuity with the existing hallway.
After accepting Richards bid we set up a schedule that was convenient for me. Richard explained the process and what would take place over the four day installation so we could plan our days and what to do with our pets.
Once the work began, Rich’s crew was on schedule every day and Richard came by every day to see how things were going.
The guys took up the old carpeting (and took it with them), took up the particle board flooring from the addition (also took that
with them), installed the new floor (with transition pieces into two bathrooms and entryway). Added the pegs to the new hallway floor, sanded down the old floor, applied stain, and put on three coats of polyurethane. The guys were very professional and friendly. They answered any questions I had and explained the next day’s work as they went along.
They did an excellent job of matching the stain to the color of our living room and other bedrooms.
You can’t tell where the old and new hallways meet, and the new bedroom floor is beautiful.
The guys did a great job of cleaning up after the work was completed, and took all the trash with them.
I would definitely recommend “Innovative Wood Floors” to anyone.

I contacted Innovative Floors for a quote on installing new wood flooring in our living room/dining room area. Richard

Patrick returned my call the same day and set up an appointment to assess the job. On the day of the appointment he was prompt and gave me what I considered to be a fair price quote. We set a date to start the work and Rich agreed to pick up the material that we ordered for the job. Rich picked up the material as agreed and delivered it to our residence 3 days prior to starting the job. On the day the work was to start Rich and his crew were on time and started work immediately. The job was completed in two days as promised. Several days after the job finished we notice several areas of the floor that were a little spongy. This was apparently because of some low spots where the floor did not adhere to the glue. I contacted Rich and he was out the next day and again several days later to solve the problem. We are very happy with our floors and happy with the work done by Innovative Wood Floors.

I recently moved into a new home that needed a lot of work. I basically remodeled the entire home- new walls, new floors, completely new kitchen, etc. The 46-year-old home came with hardwood floors in three bedrooms and the rest of the floors in the home were either carpet, laminate, or slate. Rich and his crew removed all of the floors (even the extremely thick concrete-embedded slate!) but left the three bedrooms that already had hardwood floors. He then leveled the entire home by either adding or removing layers of plywood because I did not want any transition pieces in my home. He weaved the entrance of each bedroom with the hallway and I am telling you, you cannot tell that the three bedrooms have hardwood floors that are 46-years-old and the rest of the floors are brand new! He sanded and stained the entire house, including the bedrooms, with a gorgeous color that he developed himself by mixing two colors that I couldn't decide between and I couldn't be happier with the color or the workmanship. This guy is an absolute genius with floors and so incredibly nice. My biggest regret in the remodeling of my home is that I did not use Rich to install my granite (he does that as well) because I know he would have blown away Pro Source Granite. When I get to the remodeling of my bathrooms and basement, Rich will be my guy (Hopefully he does that too!). I'm not taking a chance on any other company. I would very highly recommend Rich to anyone. I wish I could give him more than five stars!
