About us

Heritage House Florist located in Downers Grove, Illinois has been delivering daily to Chicago and over 150 surrounding suburbs for over 75 years. We are a family owned and operated full service florist. Grandma and Grandpa Bicek started Bicek's House of Flowers in 1925 and we bought Heritage House Florist from the Nelson Family 20 years ago. Our design staff is professional, experienced and award winning. We won the Chamber Choice Award for Retail and were again voted a Top 3 florist by Suburban Focus Magazine this year. We are known for our quality and long lasting flowers, our spectacular wedding & party work, beautiful and affordable funeral pieces. We have a large selection of green plants, blooming plants, Fruit & Gourmet Baskets and Gifts and in 2009 we added Expressions from Hallmark Cards & Gifts to our store. We are a member of FTD and Teleflora. Our long time experience allows us to professionally handle with care your local and international orders. We hope we can provide the service you'd expect and more from a family owned florist. I decided to have flowers delivered to my grandmother the day before I wanted them there. Heritage House had many beautiful options and had similiar pricing to other local florists, but cheaper delivery fees. I did not actually see the final product but my grandmother said they were beautiful. She also mentioned that she was not home when the delivery occured and the gentleman called her and the two agreed to leave them at the door. He was willing to come back or have them returned to the florist for her to pick up. I was very pleased with the service and would use them again.
