CREATIVE PAINTING

After painting for one day by himself, I discovered that the paint used was Menard's flat paint and the cheapest that they sell. One bathroom was painted and the ceiling in another. The next day, Jim Aurienne came alone again and would have no helper. I asked him about the paint choice and he became very defensive, telling me I had 2 choices:
he would purchase SW paint the next day and use it, 
he would give me a rebate on the $800 down payment that he received.
He then packed up all of his equipment, the paint he had purchased for one room, and left with everything he brought, telling me to call him.
I called  him that afternoon with the decision to get a rebate on the down payment in a voice mail message.
Another painting company gave me an estimate and said that the ceiling s that were painted by JIm were not backrolled and that flat paint was not acceptable to use in the bathroom and would have to be redone.
Mr. Aurienne's coworker called me a week later and offered a rebate of $150, therefore the charge for one day's unacceptable work would be $650. I did not accept the offer and Jim would not return my phone calls. His daughter answered the phone and said that the rebate offer of $150 was final and if I didn't like it, take it to Small Claims court.
I did spend money in Small Claims Court and won a judgment against Mr. Aurienne and Creative Painting.
He has not paid the judgment, will not return phone calls,  and has foreclosed him home in Downers Grove.

James is very meticulous about his work and he has very good rates. I don't remember how much he charged me, but I plan on calling him again for more work. He's a one man shop and he works out of his home.
