House Cleaning
$130
Sticking to the agreed-upon schedule was a major problem. We said not to have them come in before a certain time and often times they would come in an hour or more earlier. We kept complaining about this but it kept coming back.they did not do a thorough job cleaning. I once found a cobweb in the corner of the living room which they were supposedly dusting. Also soap dishes were not cleaned out. Bags were left unknotted thoroughly. This was a problem for putting out the garbage. They were supposed to send out the same team each time and did not do so. I have had cleaners before so had a point of comparison. They were merely adequate.

House Cleaning

We signed up for bi-weekly cleaning for $75. The first two "Deep Cleaning" sessions were $115. We cancelled after the second appointment because the house wasn't cleaned very well at all. I don't think they vacuumed the bedrooms. They dusted the front of the lamps but not the back. Their literature says the second $115 deep cleaning session includes "carpet edges vacuumed." This clearly wasn't done at my house. It has been over a week since I cancelled the service, and they still have not returned my house key, so I'm going to have to change the locks.

During the first 2 cleanings, I was present. Cleaning was OK. The last time I was not home. On inspection, many things were not cleaned (one half of the double kitchen sink not cleaned, tile floor wiped but the sticky spots were not removed, basement stairs not swept, bed linens not changed, etc.). This company has a quality inspector who not only checks on the quality of the cleaners, but records the things unique to your home (e.g. the carpeting on the basement stairs should be swept every time). The record was incomplete, the cleaning women (who had been at the house before didn't ask my husband if the bed linens should be changed). The fact that so many areas in the house were not cleaned well caused me to discontinue this service.
Response from The Cleaning Authority
"The Member was not at the initial meeting I had with her husband. Had she been there, she would better understand how our system of cleaning and our service works. She has the wrong idea of what a quality inspector does. Also, if clean sheets are simply left on the bed, we will change linens. This is a case of someone hearing our presentation secondhand and then thinking she knows how we work."

I like them very much and I pay them per visit. The first two times that they came out to my home they really scrubbed every where and got everything really clean. So the first two times they come out are a little bit more expensive, but other than that their prices are pretty reasonable.

Worst job I have ever seen. Their only project was to thoroughly clean the kitchen and bathrooms, clean the floors in the other rooms. They didn't even bother to sweep the floor. I found the kitchen barely touched, not sure if one cabinet was opened, the morning my movers arrived. Spent 3 hours cleaning the kitchen myself while attempting to direct movers. Tried to give the benefit of the doubt and have them come back to fix, that went ok (although it had to be after we moved; took 2 days at that point). Since then I did keep them on as a biweekly service, but seriously considering finding another. The 2 women who come spend less than 2 hours cleaning a 2500 sq. ft. home; every time I have found areas unsatisfactory and had them come back; enough is enough.
Response from The Cleaning Authority
"THANK YOU FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO RESPOND. THE MEMBER HIRED US FOR A MOVE-IN CLEANING TO A HOUSE. THIS WAS A ONE-TIME CLEANING, WHERE WE CHARGE AN HOURLY BASIS TO CLEAN WHATEVER THE CUSTOMER WANTS, SO NEEDLESS TO SAY WE WOULD NOT BE IN ANY RUSH AND WOULD WANT TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS TO THEIR SATISFACTION. WE HAD THREE PEOPLE (NOT TWO) AT THE HOUSE FOR OVER 2 HOURS (ABOUT 7 CLEANING HOURS), BUT THAT REALLY DOESN'T MATTER IF SHE WASN'T HAPPY. WE HAVE A SATISFACTION GUARANTEE AND SHE CALLED OVER THE WEEKEND TO SAY SHE WASN'T HAPPY WITH THE SERVICE SO THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY I HAD MY QUALITY INSPECTOR COME OUT TO THE HOUSE AND SPEND AND ADDITIONAL THREE HOURS AT THE HOUSE BY HERSELF TO TAKE CARE OF ANY ADDITIONAL THINGS THAT THE MEMBER WAS NOT SATISFIED WITH, WHICH AT THIS POINT WAS MORE DIFFICULT BECAUSE THEY WERE ALREADY MOVED INTO THE HOUSE. THE MEMBER WAS NOT CHARGED ANYTHING ADDITIONAL FOR THESE ADDED SERVICES AND WE COMPLETED THEM TO HER SATISFACTION."
