We love our new railing! My mom had fallen and we needed to make some adaptations to her house to make it safer for her. Our first project was a way to make it easier for her to get into the front door. After looking into renting or buying a ramp for the 2 steps, we decided to look into putting in a railing. We contacted 4 different companies but only Joe from J. B. Metal Works really took the time to explain the whole process and the advantages of hiring them. When we went in to their shop to drop off the deposit (sure, we could have done it by mail or used a credit card over the phone), Joe took us for a little tour through their shop, showing us how our railing would be made from start to finish. Since our project was so small, they were able to easily fit us in between bigger orders and we had our railing installed within a couple of weeks. We were wondering how Steve (the owner and the one who came out to look at our front steps/stoop and measure for the finished product) would deal with our slowly sinking stoop and were very pleased to find that they didn't need to install the railing into the stoop at all. It goes straight from the walkway/driveway into the wall next to our front door. Now we don't have to worry about the railing becoming wobbly as the stoop continues to sink. And if we decide to replace the driveway (and stoop), the railing can be uninstalled and reinstalled. Best of all, it looks great and is steady and sturdy. Several of our friends and neighbors have commented on how good it looks and how sturdy it feels. We highly recommend J. B. Metal Works to anyone needing iron work done.

JB Metal Works was recommended by my concrete contractor to provide metal railings for a new stoop I had poured.  In addition, I decided to replace two other wood railings with iron.  Joe was very responsive with a quote, which was competitive, and responsive with follow up questions.  Steve (owner) was very helpful with follow up questions as well and personally visited my house with his field supervisor, Mike, to make sure the job was properly measured and met my expectations.  Lead time was about seven weeks, but time wasn't an issue for me.  Mike supervised the installation crew, who did a very professional job installing the railings.Very satisified and wouldn't hesitate to use them again!

Couldn't have asked for a better experience. My sister, the homeowner fell down those stairs and after surgery and some time spent at rehab we had to do something to make the front steps safer for her. I contacted 3 companies on Angie's List but only heard back from Steve at J.B. So glad that's how it happened as they went above and beyond to get the work done prior to my sister returning home. Stopped by the house today and couldn't have been happier with the results. Railing is almost identical to the old railing installed 64 years ago when the house was built.

excellent fabrication, installation and cleanup too! courteous folks who made adjustment on site at a difficult job. Long lead time for fabrication.

I dropped off the part, Steve said he'd be able to do it this week sometime, which was fine with me - and I was pleasantly surprised to find a message that it was done the next day. I picked it up, it's a much better weld than it was before - I'm very pleased. I'm also pleased to know of someplace close by that can do these kind of smaller welding jobs - a good thing to know.

They did a very good job for us. They came when they said they would. I liked the way the worked. They were polite. I have no complaints at all.

They are really nice. I chose to use them because they were recommended by other people; a couple of my friends recommended them. I was satisfied with the outcome. They were wonderful to deal with. They were very professional. The price was good because iron is expensive. I would be probably using them again for my back stairs when I do them.

I called to ask for a quote on a new railing since we were having new front stairs installed. I was told that the person who does the quotes was out of the office but that someone from J.B. Metal Works who was in my town that day would stop by to take photos. I received a call early the next week as promised with a quote followed shortly by a written quote and a photo of an example of how the railing would look. When our stairs were finished, I called J.B. Metal Works back and the owner came to measure on a Saturday. The railing was installed a few weeks later.
