This was not a good experience at all. When Jack came to give me the estimate he warned me that the cabinet sink was not a standard size. I asked if a pedestal sink would be better and he said yes. I signed the contract and sent a deposit in mid January. He then sent me to Advantage Kitchen and Bath to purchase the sink, toilet and medicine cabinet. I ordered a pedestal sink, a toilet and a medicine cabinet and light fixture. A few weeks later his crew arrived to tear out the old fixtures and informed me that the pedestal sink would not work because the pipes were coming out of the side wall - something I would have expected Jack to notice when he gave me the original estimate. I then ordered a custom cabinet and countertop to Jack's measurements. 6 weekls later the sink arrived and the cabinet was too deep and wouldn't fit. Jack took it to a carpenter to cut it down - at my expense. Everything was finally completed at the end of May. A couple of months later, I noticed that the pocket door was not closing correctly. Then it came off the tracks. I got a local handyman to come in and get the door back on track, but it still doesn't close correctly. The new door is much heavier than the old one was, and I suspect that, to save time, they installed the new door on without replacing the hardware. The weight of the new door has bent the old track. I am now in search of a carpenter who can replace the track. We really don't want these guys back in our house.

In total, the remodeling took 6 full days. Jack gave a very reasonable estimate and was present for part of the first day of the work, after that he was available by phone and checked in several times. His worker, Bogden (sp?) was great, very hard working and very precise. We would definitely use Jack's company again!

Overall we were very pleased with the results, and the work is beautiful. Jack gave us a quote in late July, and he started work in early September (our mutually agreed upon date). Jack was honest, open and responsive to our calls and questions. We made a few subtractions and a few additions to our original contract, which Jack easily accommodated. The price of the work was exactly as expected, it progressed on schedule; there were men working here, extremely hard, almost every day. There were a few bumps in the road (the window arrived in the wrong size, for example), but this was worked out, and did not delay the construction to a significant degree. While we would have preferred to see Jack on site a little more often, he was always prompt about returning our phone calls. There were a few areas of miscomunication or different expectations in some relatively minor areas such as painting, but these were all resolved quickly and to our satisfaction. After we paid Jack the final installment, we realized that a couple of outlets (in another room, not part of the major construction) had not been replaced as per the contract. Jack had the electrician out to fix them the next day. As a side note, during the construction, our dog accidentally injured his leg on some construction materials in the back yard. Jack was extremely sympathetic, and without our asking, as an act of kindness, he made some additional repairs in another room in the house that were not part of this job. Jack is a person of integrity and true to his word. Thank you for a job well done.

It went very well ! Jack showed up when he said he would with his assitant. The job went smooth and the clean up was great. The leak that damaged the wall has been fixed by another company. When I'm sure the leak is really fixed I'll have Jack back to replace the removed wall with a new one.

I found Jack to be honest, direct, and straight forward in every interaction I had with him. He and his crew did a phenomenal job on my new kitchen. We have gotten so many postive compliments on the kitchen he and his guys built for me from all our friends and family when ever they come over to our house. The great thing about Jack is that he can do both the design and build components of a kitchen renovation. The design he came up for my kitchen totally maximized the available space we had and makes the whole room feel more spacious and workable. When I did see one or two things I thought needed to be touched up or fixed Jack saw to it that one of his guys fixed it immediately without any attitide or pushback. Jacks crew showed up at 8:00 am sharp everyday and they worked hard non stop all day long. They cleaned up after themselves everyday and they had to work around my family and all our stuff because we lived in the house while he was doing the job. Jack has a really strong crew and they take alot pride in their work and the finished product they produce for customers. I never worried about my house or the things in it when I would leave during the day when I had to run errands. Jack completed everything he said he would do per the contractsI had with him. As far as improvement opportunities, Jack could do a better job of communicating work status and instructions to his crew before they arrive on a job site. I found myself at times having to micro manage the project to make sure his guys knew what work was done by other members of the crew and what work still remained. There were a couple of occasions where his guys did not show up due to unforseen circumstances and I would have to call Jack to find out if his guys were coming that day and if not when they would be coming back to finish the work. Even given the aforementioned, I would not hestitate to hire Jack and his guys again and neither should you. They offer a really "good bang for the buck", do really great work, and honor their commitments to customers. The before and after pictures of my kitchen illustrate the quality of work Jack and his crew produce.

We got several estimates to remodel our basement we decided to go with JK. Jacek seemed very honest and his estimate was very competitively priced. Jack was very good about following up regarding any questions.Throughout the entire project Jacek was very easy to work with and the workers always showed up when they said they would. There weren't any delays from their part. They were very good about making sure everything looked as we wanted it and made a few good suggestions throughout. I always liked Ralph's ideas regarding the layout of the walls and decided to implement them. Jose's team performed a fast and high quality drywall job. Extremely professional plumbing work from Wesley. Eddy's woodwork was very detail oriented and Paul and Adam did an excellent tile job and painting. I did make a few changes to the original plan so the price kept going up which is understandable. Jacek was very flexible incorporating those changes into the project but I think there is opportunity for improvement from Jacek's side, he should track the changes more efficiently because there were a few misunderstandings regarding some of my requests and the cost of them. That's why I gave him a B in professionalism. Overall we are very pleased with the outcome of his work and would use him again and recommend him to our family and friends.

They did two completely different tasks for me. The 2nd story work was mostly A work; the bath earned from A's to F's, hence the overall grade of C. The drywall work/repair was excellent as was most the work on the second story. They were on-time, worked hard, and came when they were supposed to. Communication was a problem as they speak mostly Polish and I felt that Jack could have done a better job of instructing them or giving them direction. I was pleased with the overall work, the crew, and their work ethic. I really like the crew. I was displeased that they had left a bad wire in the ceiling they replaced instead of pointing it out and asking me if I wanted it fixed. Jack's excuse was that is wasn't included in the work order and so he ignored it. Who ignores a bad wire (blackened and cracked insulation) and leaves it in a ceiling? However, since I was pleased overall I invited them to do the bath work with the understanding that I expected to consulted if things like the wiring came up. On the bath project, Jack was very flexible with the timing and was willing to work with me on scheduling other contractors and the work I was doing myself. I was surprised and not prepared to have to hire my own heating contractor but Jack's crew was very good about working around them. The drywall was again excellent and the electrical was done properly. Bart suggested a few things that greatly improved the project design. For example, he pointed out that I needed a light in the shower. The plumbing was a disaster. There was no trap installed in the tub drain, the toilet flange was below the floor level and the sink drain was not appropriate for a pedestal sink. I seriously doubt that the shower is vented properly, but without ripping out the walls, I can't check. Jack's response to these problems was to blame me. The floor wasn't in before the flange was installed (it was), he didn't know there was a pedestal sink (it was sitting in the next room and was in the blueprint), and then asked me where I wanted the tub trap; like it was an add-on when I pointed out it was missing!? A new guy was eventually sent to install the tub trap and it leaked from the start. They had to come back 3 times to eliminate the leak. (Seriously, run some water down the drain and check it before you leave.) Jack at first refused to fix the toilet flange; wanted to jerry-rig it with multiple wax rings and shims. I found this unacceptable for brand new plumbing. Jerry-rigged toilets were the reason I was having to replace my floors in the first place. Jack was rarely there and did a poor job of communicating instructions to his crew. As the project went on, they became more undependable, saying they would be there, and then not showing up or calling. When I reported this to Jack he indicated that was unacceptable and said he would take care of it, but then he blew off an appointment with me himself; not showing up or calling. To Jack's credit, he did keep coming back until the problems were fixed to my satisfaction. I think he is a good guy and an honest man and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him for framing and dry-wall and I would have him back to do that kind of work for me. But I wouldn't hire him do any plumbing.

Job well done! Jacek's crew started just a few days after the contract was signed. They worked on Saturday and completed the job in 2 1/2 days. At the end of every day they stacked the remaining lumber neatly on one side fo the garage and swept. The finished product is extremely sturdy and looks flawless. I would use them again and recommend them to a friend.

This is our second time working with Jack on a project and once he remodeled our kitchen so beautifully a few months ago, we didn't turn to anyone else but him when we were looking to do our bathroom. As always, Jack's team was on time and kept the project within our timeline. Jack really made sure we got exactly what we discussed and the bathroom couldn't have turned out any better. His team paid attention to details and did a great job cleaning up after the job. Just with our kitchen remodel, we felt like Jack gave us a fair price and always made himself available.

Had a good meeting with Jack/Jake on a Thursday and we talked through everything. He had some good ideas for some of our layout options and was up front regarding some of the costs and seemed very honest and open. It seemed like he was very interested in the job and wanted us to get back to him afterwards so that he could give a counter-estimate. We were very eager to hear back from JK and we were supposed to hear back on Monday or Tuesday of the following week. We are 5 or 6 days past that time now with no communication from JK at all. We have received quite a few other quotes in a short period of time and one of them we received on the same day (the company we ultimately chose). I would expect to receive something back on or around the date/time I was told. I wasn't given a phone call or anything since. It was a great start to the process with no follow through.

I brought in quite a few contractors to take a look at our addition which was sinking. We received solutions and costs that varied greatly. JK Remodeling was by far the most impressive bid by combining great costs and most solid solution. Jack and his guys were absolutely great to work with and I will go back to them for future work without hesitation. They did a great job of keeping me up to date with progress and letting me know when any obstacles popped up. The work was solid and the price was great.

We received 6 estimates from various contractors (4 were from Angie's list). We were most impressed with Jack's knowledge, his reviews on Angie's list & his estimate, which was near the low end of the 6 estimates. Jack and all of his crews did a very good job. We had the kitchen totally remodeled & 2 bathrooms gutted & remodeled. Living room, dining room, halls & den were all painted with new baseboards throughout. New hardwood floors were put in the kitchen & dining room. Mike & his crew did them to our specifications & they are lovely. Tile in the halls & both bathrooms looks beautiful due to Marian's expert work. New lighting, new electrical outlets, new fuse box, and assorted final detail work was handled by Paul, who was very knowledgeable. During the entire project, if we had concerns or certain things needed to be changed, Jack was always available & got back to us in a very timely manner. All of his people are very trustworthy, and we had no qualms about leaving for the day. We would highly recommend JK Remodeling. We expect to use them again on a future project we are planning. I understand that Angie's List is great for vendor's business, and this is confirmed by the fact that many appear to be too busy to respond to inquiries. We have purchased a new (to us) home and are doing a lot of work in various categories. I would guess that 50% of those contractors we have attempted to contact via Angie's List have not responded. An identical review is going into at least 5 vendor reviews today. JK appears to fall into this category. We have chosen a contractor that responded in a timely manner.

After getting several estimates to remodel our basement we decided to go with JK. Their estimate was very competitively priced and Jack was very good about following up regarding any questions. They completed the demolition of my basement( which included the removal of a non-working fireplace), re-framed the basement, installed new electrical outlets and can lighting, installed drywall, installed flooring, installed windows and painted the entire basement. They also expanded the basement bathroom and installed a shower, new plumbing and an ejector pit. Floor and shower tile was also installed. Throughout the entire process Jack and Paul were very easy to work with and always showed up when they said they would. (there was one exception with the drywall sub but that was quickly addressed) They were very good about making sure everything looked as we wanted it and offered good suggestions throughout. We did make a few changes to the original estimate but JK delivered exactly what they said they would at the agreed price. I look forward to working with them again.

We obtained the primary bid in March 2010, but did not finalize the costs until June 2010 due to our schedule and deciding on exactly what we wanted to do in the room. Through that time frame, Jack was very courteous and followed up at regular intervals to check in with us. He was very professional throughout the project. We agreed to start on July 7th. Jack and his crew arrived right about 8:30 ready to go. They quickly assessed the scope of work, put down drop cloths from the back door all the way through the house to the bedroom and immediately got started. Within the next 10 days they got the new wall framed for the window, drywall installed, taped, mudded and sanded. We had the weekend to paint the trim and the room before the finish carpenter showed up on Monday morning to install all the trim. NOTE: Carpenter did an EXCELLENT job! I'm in the construction business and I know how bad or good this should be. We are just tickled with the finished product. It feels like we did a new addition to the house! We are very, very happy with JK Complete Remodeling and would strongly recommend them for any remodel project you have.

I contacted Jack (the owner) during a weekend asking for a quote. He stopped by within a few days to prepare an estimate. Two days after that he called us with a verbal quote and followed up with a written quote shortly thereafter. The quote was detailed and spelled out exactly the work that would be performed. We asked for a start date of 5/21/10, and he was able to accommodate that request. On 5/21 one of Jack's painters showed up promptly at the time he was supposed to. He worked quickly and effectively. He was very accommodating of any request we made and had no problem touching up areas that didn't cover well. He was also very neat. At the end of each day everything was put away with no clutter of painting supplies and equipment in our unit. The job was finished three days ahead of schedule, and we were completely satisfied with the work.

We bought a 1920 bungalow in need of lot of repairs before we were able to move in, so we were in a time and money crunch to get this done. We first browsed Angie?s List to look for contractors. While some called back, some others did not. Jaceck (Jake) returned our call within 24 hours and made an appointment to meet us at our place. He walked around and we explained what we wanted to do, within 30 minutes he had an idea and promised to give us an estimation within the next 2 days. He came back on a Saturday with a very detailed proposal that was very reasonable (compared with another estimate we received from a very arrogant contractor/architect). In addition, Jake was very personable and we felt very comfortable giving him keys of our house right away to start the work. Jake estimated 5 to 7 weeks of work, starting the weekend after we meet. We were surprised when we walked in the house on Tuesday to find half of the basement gone. The whole work took around 6 weeks (March 16 to May 22), some of the delays was due to us not having all the material needed for him, since we had to provide it. However, as soon as we got the material he had someone coming and working right away. Our all experience working with Jake was amazing. We had a vision of what we want, and he helped and guided us to achieve our goal. He always listened and suggested better ways to do the job. The house turned way better than we expected or imagine, and we highly recommend you to use Jake for any remodel or house-fix job.

This was a relatively small job in terms of basement refinishes. I had about a 300 square foot area in my unfinished basement that I wanted walled off, painted, etc. to use as a workshop area. The enclosure was primarily to keep dust away (but really, also, because I hate bugs.) Jake and his guys were eager to help. despite the "smallness" of the task, and after work was underway it went rather quickly. Most of the time elapsed was for negotiating the contract, and then waiting for the village inspections and approvals. Speaking of which, the inspectors found some issues with my house construction unrelated to the room they built for me. Jake was able to fix the issues up to pass without issue. Originally I had planned to paint the room myself. I actually bought all the paint and started doing it, but quickly remembered how much I hated painting. They took on that job for me too. I will definitely consider this company for our planned remodels in other areas of the house.

This was our first major home project that would require a contractor and we were nervous to say the least. You hear horror stories about contractors not showing up on time, cutting corners, extending deadlines and coming up with unexpected expenses. Jack blew through all those stereotypes and made the process virtually painless. He was incredibly flexible and responsive. He picks up his phone practically on the first ring and if you get his voicemail, he'll call you back within minutes. His team was respectful, very clean and produced quality work. The project went so smoothly and was finished before we knew it. Jack also accommodated some last minute requests. As we were going through the process, we realized that we would like some outlets moved in other areas of our home and we wanted to mount a TV above the fireplace. Jack quoted us quickly for the additional work and once we agreed to move forward, the additional projects were done in tandem with the work already in motion. Again, we never imagined the process could be so simple. My husband and I would recommend Jack and his team to anyone who needs any type of work from small projects to big demo jobs. We joke now that when we're ready to move to a new house, we'll look at homes and not be discouraged by potential renovations because we know "Jack can do it." Its great to know we now have a reliable source for the future.
