THESE GUYS ARE TOTAL SCAMMERS!!! They installed 5 door strikes in our building… Since the strikes didn’t seem to be working, we made an appointment to have them test the strikes. They were on site for less than 15 min and charged us 450 bucks…when making the appointment, at no point did they mention any costs. I I WOULD ABSOLUTELY STAY AWAY!!

The appointment setting was great. I was dealing with Jessica and she was very nice and accommodating. My "D" review is solely based on cost. First off, the locksmith who did the job seemed terribly slow. I stood there next to him for over an hour while he worked. I'm not saying this was an easy job, but he could of at least communicated and said hey here's the issue I'm going to take a bit longer etc. He didn't say a single word. Again this was not a simple add two locks and be done so I do understand that this was a complex situation, but I would of appreciated communication. He installed guard plates. Why? I have no idea. I'm assuming this added to the extra time. I never wanted guard plates. Unbelievable.
Time for the bill and it's $437.36. But here's the funny part it took him 15 minutes to write the bill! That makes me believe that he's just a slow person and I got screwed paying extra time for him to do the job.

They were great. The guy knew exactly what he was doing. He came in and did it and got it done quickly. I actually had him installs some locks on some gates in my backyard and what he did was much better than what I expected he would do. The quality was really good. It was a lot of work. Probably in about 2 or 3 hours, he was done. The gate broke three times in the last year and it hasn't broken yet so that's a good sign. I was very happy.

We have recently moved and needed to re-key the locks in our new home. We also wanted to change so that only one key would be necessary for front and back doors and for the garage as well. The technician came out, noticed that we had a new lock on our back door and instead of using the locks he had brought, he went out and got locks to match that one, saving us some money. He also came back twice, once to work on the front door lock (which is an antique lock and was not seating quite correctly) and once to fix the garage door latchplate which came loose about 2 weeks after his initial visit.
The communication with the company was prompt, all interactions were pleasant, and although we had a problem, they came out promptly to fix those problems and did not charge us any extra.
Because I have older locks on many of the interior doors as well as my exterior door, I expect that I will use Anderson Lock again, they are able to handle more than just the everyday problems.

They came out right away and rekeyed the locks. The guys who came out even offered up a quick suggestion on one of the locks to make it even more secure. Overall, these guys are top-notch in quality. They are a little bit pricey compared to other locksmiths, but I trust their qualtiy above anyone elses.

Excellent service. I have had a lot of work done on my house recently and this was the possibly the best experience I've had. Locksmith was on time, pleasant and did an excellent job. He told me he had been with the company for 34 years and that was a good testimonial to me that it was a good company. Friendly and professional.

I have had locks replaced in the past and it was very inexpensive and quick work, so I didn't think to ask for an estimate before having the locksmith come out. Because it was through a large company, I assumed the work would be good and affordable. Instead, having copies of the key made was three times as expensive as at the local hardware stores, and having the cylinder rekeyed was six times as expensive as I've had it done in the past. When given an estimate just before starting the work, I requested that he turn his van around and leave, but was told that I and quot;had to pay for coming out.and quot; After calling the company and confirming this obscene practice, I was able to knock $30 off the price. Despite doing a good job in a short amount of time, I have established that I will never use this company again to have locks in my building replaced or rekeyed.

After hearing the company's explanation of the cost breakdown, I understand better the work they do. Regarding hardware quality, such as key blanks, I understand very well the importance of buying high quality parts. I do much of the maintenance for my building and stopped buying cheap hardware very soon after adopting the practice, which in an effort to save a few bucks ends up costing you more. The work Anderson Lock did was professional and above expected standards. For our typical situation we would not need their services, but in the event I need access to a condominium for emergency maintenance, they will be the first company I call for help.

"I understand the customers viewpoint but disagree with his perception of the value he received. Our key pricing is more than the local hardware stores, no question. The reason for this is due to the fact that we only cut our keys on the highest quality blank material. Quite often they are cut on the original lock manufacturers key blanks. These are much more expensive key blanks than the typical hardware store cuts there keys on, but we feel that the keys work better and last much longer than cheaper blanks. The next reason is our key machines. The machines we cut our blanks on are usually 6 times the expense of the typical harware store machine. We also calibrate our machines on a very regular basis. This gives you a much better and more accurate key. If you are constantly having your locks changed and only have the keys for a couple of years you will not see the benefit of this. If they are for your house and you stay there for quite a while you will definitely see the difference. We still get keys in daily that we produced for customers in the 70s. they are forty years old and still work well. Regarding the labor cost to rekey cylinders. Our employees are constantly trained, they are background checked by the F.B.I. they are licensed, bonded and insured. They come prepared to do the job in a company supplied truck with our name and logo on it. They are in uniform so there is no question you are getting one of the best trained, trustworthy and ethical locksmiths available. Our locksmiths have an average length of service with our company of 15 years and we think they are the best. We will be happy to provide a written estimate to our customers for every job we do. This member was nice enough to recognize the quality of our work, and our responsiveness with a grade of A. We try to make all of our customers happy, we fell short with him."

We were out of town and had a pet sitter taking care of our Westie. The pet sitter called one night and told us she could not get the door to lock-the key would not turn to deadbolt the door lock. We called Anderson Lock and explained the situation and they met with our pet sitter to repair and rekey the lock. Their service was outstanding!

Our door to the garage no longer opened (we couldn't get in or out of the garage through that door). We called on one day and the service person came the next day. The door knob was replaced, to match existing hardware, and keys for it and for our deadbolt were made to match our existing lock in another door. We were very pleased with Andrew's professionalism and with his work. We have used Anderson Lock for almost thirty years, and have always been very satisfied with the results.
