ABF U Pack

Not well, All but one of the pods had massive amounts of damage. More then what is covered by their $0.10 a pound policy. In fact three of them looked like they got dropped from an airplane. Everything was pack based on their guidelines and we had stacked box just get crushed.

Over all ABF U-Pack did exactly what they were hired to do. BUT...the truck was filthy dirty and had 6 vent holes which could not be closed and allowed rain water to get in and soak the front half of the truck. Also it looks like a squirrel was in there eating nuts.
They do not load and unload and the sister company they use to do this Moving Staffers is TERRIBLE and EXPENSIVE.
The low budget movers they contract did a terrible job loading our stuff and not any box or furniture is not soaked, burst open scratched ripped cracked, shattered or crushed.
If you use these guys be aware that you will need to cover the floor and walls of the container or make sure everything is sealed water tight. HIRE your own loaders if you are not doing it. Do not use AFB's sister company Moving Staffers unless you want to replace everything.

Price quoted remained the same - fixed. The driver was here on the day and at the time as promised for both container drop off and pick-up. On the delivery side, the container was deliver on the day and timeframe as promised as well, all contents intact. Great experience, would use again or recommend.

We needed to move furniture and other items from a house in Florida. We were going to go with POD, but switched to ABF because of the cost difference. We couldn't have been happier. The intial questions were answered promptly, clearly, and professionally. Setting everything up was easy. The cube was delivered on time and picked up exactly when we wanted. We did not have to be at the location when it was picked up. The cube was delivered exactly when it was promised to be delivered. Drop off was fast. We were able to move the contents out of the cube in 2 hours and the driver was able to pick up the empty cube the same day which worked out well because the next day it snowed heavily. Drivers were very professional and polite. We would definitely use ABF again.

It was a fine move. We liked their price. We could move in less than a truckload because we were temporary residents in Dallas. We wanted to move only some stuff and not a lot, so it was flexible for us. They were here when they said they would be here. I would recommend them.

The moved eveyrthing in three days which was amazing. The drivers are very professional.

You can't beat the price, they were very inexpensive. They are very responsive, if you have any questions they get back to you immediately. We had to change plans at the last minute and they were very accommodating. They showed up on time and I can't say enough good things about them. The only thing is that you have to be responsible for loading and unloading the truck yourself. It is possible to find people on line to do the loading and unloading.

After briefly getting tied up with a moving scam company, I was referred to U-Pack. This is a near ideal solution for cost effective long distance moving. I contracted for the trailer which they delivered to my house with a free ramp. The trailers are large (28' and 8' tall) with plenty of tie downs. They are a bit dusty but just wrap things well. I used a total of 22' and they provide a bulkhead to partition off your stuff. Once you are done you arrange pick up. The driver explained that the truck is always in their possession and they do relay driving, the trailer is either moving or locked in their depots. I hired local moving companies on either end to load and unload. Total move from TX was only around $2200! You will need to provide your own rope and packing blankets. I got mine on the internet for a good price so shop around.

ABF WERE VERY GOOD. THEIR RATES WERE EXCELLENT, I THOUGHT, AND THEY WERE VERY ACCOMMODATING. I NEEDED TO GET MY STUFF FROM MY POD ON A PARTICULAR DAY, WHICH WAS, AS I FOUND OUT LATER, SOONER THAN THEY HAD GUARANTEED. THEY PULLED A BUNCH OF STRINGS AND GOT ME MY STUFF THE DAY I NEEDED IT. I WAS VERY APPRECIATIVE. PLUS, THE GUYS WORKING AT THE DES PLAINES OFFICE WERE REALLY FRIENDLY.
