Limousine Service
I received a phone call from the limo driver about an hour before we were supposed to be picked up to confirm the pick up time. He arrived promptly, but that was about the best part of the experience. We knew we were going to be renting an older model limo, but I guess we shouldn't have assumed that it would also be in good working condition. It was dark outside, and he directed us to the door with a large flashlight, like one you might bring on a camping trip. I was a bit confused, but understood once we got in the limo as there were no working interior lights. He gave us the flashlight to use if we needed to see each other. There was heat in the limo, but the side windows were so drafty that if the car got over 30 mph, you couldn't feel the heat. He asked us where we were going, which I thought was odd because all of this information had already been confirmed with him when we made the reservation. When we told him we were going to a popular destination in Geneva, he had no idea where it was. I figured as the driver, he would have already had preparations made to actually get to where we were going. Once we directed him out of our neighborhood, we got going. At the first stoplight we encountered, the light turned yellow and instead of slowing down, he continued at his speed and didn't bother to apologize when he blew right through the red light! Later on down the road, he started looking for something in the seat next to him. He was so consumed with finding this item (later we found out it was his cell phone), that he drove right into the oncoming lane of traffic! He corrected himself before hitting any cars, but he clearly was not concerned with making us feel safe or helping us build any confidence in him as a driver. At another point, he started swerving onto the center divide and I'm convinced that if me and another passenger didn't SCREAM that he would have actually hit the oncoming car. When we finally guided him to our final destination, he flung a dozen or so business cards our way saying he "throws them around like trash." I don't think he's too far off. We seriously considered telling him to not bother coming back, but my husband (whom we met up with at the venue) decided to give him a good talking to before getting back in the limo. We decided he would even sit in the front seat on the way home to keep him on the straight and narrow. Once again, he did pick us up at the designated time, but when my husband went to sit in the front seat, he realized there was no such seat! And when my husband confronted him about running the red light, he said he didn't want to slam on the brakes, although he had plenty of time to. We shivered on the way home, using the flashlight once again to talk to each other. Overall, I was extremely disappointed and honestly shocked at the lack of professionalism, courtesy, and safety this "limousine" "driver" employed in our hire of him. We will NOT be using his "services" again!
