Mark went above and beyond what he needed to do, and we're grateful for his help. He told us which piano makes and models to look for and offered to check any piano before purchase. Mark just seemed like a nice honest person who enjoys what he's doing -- a pleasure to talk with.

He was very good. He referred us to the piano re-finisher. He also did some extra work on the piano itself. The price was very reasonable. The price for the tune up was only ninety dollars. The price is higher because there was extra work involved.

Charged us more than any previous Angie`s List customer but said that was his standard rate. Pushed having a second tuning in a week which we declined. It is hard to judge the quality of the tuning.

"I'M SORRY SHE WAS UNCOMFORTABLE WITH MY RATE. HER PIANO HAD NOT BEEN TUNED FOR QUITE A WHILE, AND I AM SORRY, ALSO, THAT SHE WAS LEFT DOUBTING MY EXPLANATION THAT HER PIANO REQUIRED A SECOND TUNING IN ORDER TO BE AT PITCH AND STABLE. I WONDER IF I COULD HAVE BEEN CLEARER IN MY EXPLANATION. I MAKE IT MY POLICY TO EXPLORE THE HISTORY OF TUNING WHILE ON THE PHONE WITH A PROSPECTIVE CUSTOMER, AND, WHEN APPROPRIATE, MENTION THE POSSIBILITY THAT UNDER SOME CIRCUMSTANCES THERE IS A LIKELIHOOD THAT A PIANO MAY REQUIRE A SECOND TUNING IN ORDER FOR THE PIANO PITCH TO BECOME STABLE AT STANDARD PITCH---JUST SO THERE ARE NO SUCH SURPRISES. ONCE IN A WHILE THE CIRCUMSTANCES OF THE INITIAL CALL DON'T PERMIT THIS TO TAKE PLACE, OR I NOTICE THAT I FORGOT TO DO THIS, AND AT THAT POINT A CUSTOMER HEARS ABOUT THE PIANO'S NEED (IF, INDEED THIS IS AN ISSUE) AFTER I'VE ALREADY STEPPED IN THE DOOR. I HOPE THAT I CAN THEN ENGENDER EACH PERSON'S TRUST, BUT ONCE IN A WHILE I KNOW THAT PEOPLE ARE LEFT DOUBTING. I REGRET LOSING YOU. THANKS FOR THE FEEDBACK."

I was extremely impressed by Mark's congenial and professional manner and the obvious affection that he has for pianos and for his craft! He was responsive and punctual, explained the tuning process, answered all of my questions and made several recommendations for keeping this piano tuned going forward. I will continue to use him for future tunings and would definitely recommend him to anyone needing this service in the Chicago area.
