Camacho Refinishing & Repair

The work was outstanding! Alex came to the house within a day or two, gave us a written proposal, took away the table and chairs and, within a week, delivered the finished product. In addition, he touched up the scratched base of the buffet. It now looks like I have a brand new dining room set. I couldn't be more pleased.

Everything went great. Fast and efficient service. He was prompt, professional, and polite.

i have cherry dining table which had to be refinished. I found Alex Camacho's refinishing service business on Angie's List. I am very happy with the quality of work and will highly recommend Alex.

We used Camacho in the summer of 2013 to repair and refinish two antique dressers that had been in the family for a long time.  The legs were cracked on both dressers and one or two of the legs were missing.  I stopped by his shop and brought pictures to get a rough estimate of price before having him pick them up.  Camacho repaired the legs that he could and replaced the ones that he could not, and they looked exactly like the original legs.  The refinishing was beautiful.  My mother wanted them to be refinished a little bit lighter than the original color, and they were able to do that.  They looked brand new when they were finished with them.  He had me stop by and check them before delivering to my parents, and delivery went great.  The price was very close if not exactly what he had quoted me from the pictures. 
It was hard to get a hold of Alex originally.  He did not return my first call that I made, but I am glad that I called again because I am so happy with the work that they did.  I did not have a hard time getting a hold of him after he started the job. 

Mr Camacho made a competitive quote to repair the damage. We were very satisfied with the result on both pieces. Mr. Camacho was punctual and professional. We would definitely hire him again.

I had previously used Camacho Refinishing and had a very positive experience (which I shared on Angie's List). This time, however, the service was disappointing.
Communication was poor. I fear that Mr. Camacho has become a victim of his own success - he has so much work that he does not do well in keeping up with calls. I had to call multiple times before he returned a call, and the process of scheduling this work stretched over two months. I would not have persisted if I had not been so happy with the first work. When I finally reached him & made arrangements and left the chair with him, he gave no estimated finish time. I said, "OK, it's April, we have time" because it was an outdoor chair for summer, but I did expect to hear from him. I finally had to call in late June to ask how the refinishing was coming (after he had had the chair for 2 months).
Worse is that the work was not the high quality he had performed on our previous project. I will say that he did a great job of cleaning up the chair, because it had been outdoors and was in poor condition. However, the new stain was not spread evenly; it has streaks and globs. One end of the chair slats was not finished, suggesting they had done one end and let it dry and then forgot to come back to do the other end.
Because the work was not good this time and because communication was so poor, I do not plan to take future business to Camacho Refinishing.

After seeing the many positive reviews on Angie's List, we called the provider and scheduled an appointment.  The provider arrived on time, was very knowledgeable and friendly, and provided us with a competitive estimate.  We agreed on the price and the provider took the two pieces of furniture.  The provider completed the work, returned both pieces, and we couldn't be more pleased with the outcome.

We brought three chairs to Mr. Comacho to have the cane seats repaired. He did the work  in a timely fashion and the work was excellent.

We were very pleased with him.  The experience with him was just excellent.  We have dealt with other furniture refinishers and he was by far the best.  He’s local and he’s right 10 minutes from our house.  He did a wonderful and a very good job.  We will definitely use him again in the future.

Excellent they came on time and finished early. We were very very happy since we were having a Xmas Party, and it gave me a chance to fill the cabinet.

I have a round, fluted Baker table that I love but it is 14 years old and had become wobbly and unstable.  I called Camacho to see if they could repair it.  I thought it just needed the screws tightened.  However, he said it needed a lot more than that: they would need to take the table apart and re-glue it, etc.  But he suggested I might also want to consider refinishing it since it had been worn and scratched so the finish was pretty marred.  He gave me the price for all of that and said it would take 3 weeks.  I called him at the three week point and he said it was finished and they brought it back a few days later.  It was totally like new -- just beautiful!  I will definitely call them again to do more work.  The quality of their work is high, they are honest and on time.

The first job I had my sofa cushions restuffed with new cushions. Service w as excellent. Cushions were done on time. 
Then I had an antique rocker that was painted black. Alex stripped the wood and matched it to a color sample. I bought material and he recovered the seat. Alex even made a custom back cushion to allow my daughter to sit more comfortably. The chair was done exactly when he promised.

Mr. Camacho came to our home and gave us a fair estimate.  2 weeks later, he picked up the furniture and promised to have the work completed in about 3 weeks.  About 2 weeks later, we went to his shop and chose a finish.  They were delivered this morning, 3 weeks after he picked them up, just as he promised!  The furniture looks beautiful and we could not be happier.  He is a true professional.

I have a rocking chair from when I was a baby (so technically, an antique). Based on Angie's List reviews, I selected Alex Camacho refinishing to take care of this high-sentimental value chair. They re-glued and refinished it, and it's beautiful. I was especially impressed because he identified previous damage (the chair had been "dipped" some time in the past, so the wood veneer was pulling apart). He told me what he could do and what he could not promise, because of this earlier mistreatment of the chair; I was glad for that honest and realistic assessment. The repair of the veneer ended up being better than expected, and the entire refinishing project looks great. Last night, I got to rock a grandchild in this family-heirloom chair, and all felt right with the world.
His price was fair, work was completed exactly when promised, and the workmanship was high quality. I will definitely use him again.

It did take three phone calls before we received a call back, and we almost moved on to a different service provider, but when Alex called back he gave us his cell phone so we could text/call him as well as send photos of the damage so communication was fine from then on.  He came out promptly, discussed repair options, which were limited, and price.  They took the headboard with them to be repaired at their shop.  He said the work would be done in two weeks, though it was completed in only one week.  Fortunately the area that was damaged cannot be seen since it is where the base of the bed attaches to the side boards, though he did have to reconfigure a way to attach the two pieces.  He was able to repair the veneer as well.  We are very pleased with the work he did, and would recommend this company.

Based on Angie's reviews, we called Alex for a quote on refinishing and re-caning 2 chairs. He showed up on time and was very polite. He quoted a price which was acceptable (low) to us. We offered a partial down payment which he declined. He took the chairs with him and told us that it would take 2-3 weeks to complete. He finished in a week and returned our chairs in excellent condition. I would strongly reccomend him, his price and workmanship are great.

We wanted to change the color of a bed that we will use for my son. We tried to do it ourselves, but it didn't work because the color that we were looking for was a very specific tone of "expresso".

I called Camacho Refinishing and Repair (because of all the great reviews he has gotten on this website!!!!) and left a message requesting for an estimate. Camacho returned my call within a couple of minutes and the next day he came to see the bed and gave me an estimate. I thought the price was reasonable so he took the bed right away. Since the color that I was looking for was hard to "find" I visited his workshop and he gave me several samples so I could compare it with the dresser and other pieces that I needed to buy. We were able to find the exact color that I was looking for and we agreed that he was going to deliver the bed within 3 weeks.

A week and a half went by and I called him to see how the work was doing and to my surprise, the bed was ready!!!!! WOW!!! he delivered it the same day and the work was  PHENOMENAL!!!!!!!.The bed looks brand new and of course it has the RIGHT color!!!! :-)

I definitely recommend him as a professional but also for the great quality of his work! 

Alex came out the next day to give me an estimate. He came back to get the chest of drawers when on the day I requested. He was punctual and told me it would be 2 to 3 weeks to do the work. The chests came back within that time frame and looked great!
