The three people that we worked with (husband, wife and son) were very nice. We had a ponderosa pine that needed to be cut back and I was given several options on how that could be done. I felt I was very clear that I wanted the entire circumference of the tree trimmed back because it was taking over the yard, but that the bottom should be left down to the ground. I was told there was also a need to remove a branch from a nearby tree that was interfering with the growth of the pine. The quote was $300, and I was told they would also remove some of the small hang-down branches from the other tree at no charge.
I was given a written estimate on the spot that included trimming the tree up from the ground for another $100. When I bought this to their attention I was told they misunderstood and that it would not be included in the scope of work. There had been a lot of talking over one another during discussions between the three and its my belief that the miscommunication happened as a result.
When I came home from work a few days later I found that the pine tree has been trimmed back only the side nearest to our house. The limb was gone from the nearby tree, but the hang-downs had not been touched. I actually thought that they had to stop work due to some rain in the area. This was on a Friday, so I expected that they would come to finish on Monday.
To my  surprise they came by on Saturday to see how happy I was with the work (and to pick up their check I assume). When I pointed out the issues they again blamed it on a miscommunication and said they would come back out to complete the job. When I got home from work on Monday Ithe entire job had been completed to my satisfaction.

Two men arrived on June 8, 2013 and removed the limbs from the tree down too about ten feet and left. The boss and two other people arrived and started removing the limbs from the yard. They did not use a motorized chipper, they loaded the limbs on a two axle trailer and hauled them to the dump outside of town. They finished up on the ninth the following day. and cleaned up the yard. The wife and I were satisfied with the performance and workmanship of the individuals that were doing the work.
