The contractor showed up two days late. On day one I arrived home from work and filled up a one gallon bucket with roofing nails, button caps, etc.. I had found in my driveway, patio, sidewalks and yard from the tearing off of old shingles. There were also black streaks all over my siding and damage to my screens and one of my window sills from their wreckless removal work. I had mentioned this to the business owner and he assured me that he would take care of it. In the proposal they had agreed to haul away the debris, but on day two, they burned the old sheathing they had torn off in my yard. When the job was complete ( day five ) he had agreed to fix the damaged window sill and took the damaged screens with him to have them repaired. Two days later my wife talked to him and he said he had dropped them off at a business that specializes in screen replacement. However, after two weeks of avoiding our phone calls, he calls back and informed us that we can pick the screens up from a friend of his 20 miles away from where we live. The repair was done very poorly. The screens weren't even in the beads in some places, not to mention they used a different screen material that doesn't match the rest of them. Furthermore, he never came back to repair the damaged window sill and my wife spent hours scrubbing the tar streaks left on our siding from the shingle removal. They did a pretty good job on the roof, but overall the cons far outweigh the pros. It was pretty much a disaster and if I could do it over again, I'd have hired someone else.
