KVS Topside Construction

I initially hired KVS as an insurance claim after a bad hailstorm to replace my roof, siding, gutters, fascia, etc. a few years ago. Recently (about a year ago), I noticed a piece of fascia was bending and coming off on the second story peak of my house. It would need to be removed and replaced with a brand new piece but was too high for me to repair myself. I reached out to KVS, and Kevin said he would take care of it at no expense. He would just need to see when some guys were in my area and they would do it. After a few weeks I’d call to see when the job would be done, and I’d get something like “oh yeah no one has been by yet?, or still waiting for someone to be in my area”. This went on and on for about 6 months. Finally one day I came home and saw new fascia was sitting on the side of my house, but never installed on my second story peak like we had discussed. Strange, but I was somewhat glad progress was being made. Again, I placed more and more calls and texts to Kevin to see when it would be installed, but I kept getting the same run-around as before. Finally, winter came and I let it pass until spring. In the spring, I contacted the company again to see when the fascia will be installed, and this time a guy named Joe responds with a lot of the same story, but reassures me that it’ll be done eventually. Finally after a few months of the same old back and forth, I asked Joe again when it would be installed. At this point Joe said that I should probably just reach out to someone in my neighborhood to see if they will install it. That is where I left off with KVS, despite numerous follow up messages on my behalf - they just stopped responding to me. I did eventually hire someone local to install the fascia, and 2 weeks later the job was done at my own expense. I wasted literally over a year of my time (and almost $200) waiting for KVS to come through on a promise to repair my fascia but they failed. Terrible customer service and empty promises. Don’t bother with this company if you value your time and money. I do not plan on ever using KVS again.

The company from owner to contractors did a great job. Each part of the roofing process was well communicated. The teams were very professional and timely. The owner Kevin was very helpful in helping me determine the best fit for my roof.

The installation went very well. The work was completed on time. The installers were neat and cleaned up the property when they were finished. The owner, Kevin, was meticulous and pointed out work that needed to be done and work that didn't need to be done. The siding needed to be replaced due to storm damage and Kevin worked with the insurance company on this project. We have used this company in the past to replace our roof. And, because of the excellent service we received at that time, we called them again for this project. I would highly recommend this company.

We first noticed hail damage and went to angie's list to find a highly reviewed service provider to assist us in our claim and repairs.  KVS was amazing.  Kevin and Billy showed up and took us through the entire process of how it worked and assisted us in every detail along the way.  When our insurance agent showed up, Billy made sure that every aspect that should have been covered was.  Our roof originally wasn't covered but with some diligence Billy was able to schedule as second adjuster to review and with a second opinion it was fully covered! They have been extremley responsive in not only the work effort but any concern we had. These guys absolutely want to make sure you are happy with their service and in turn good service and recommendations brings more work which I think is the best way.  They have gone out of their way to recommend what they thought would work in our best interest and we couldn't be happier with the results.  We have recommended them already to everyone we have talked to.  We are so happy we went their company.  The original door-to-door company that stopped by didn't even show up for our appointment and apparently is even being sued by the state of illinois. My advise is leverage angie's list for their reviews and find yourself the best company.  I couldn't be more happy that I finally made a good choice especially when trusting a company to basically give you an entire new house.  I only wish I would have called these guys before I started my window project.  Once I finish paying of my overpriced windows I did have install, I'm definitely going to call these guys to finish the job for the remainder of the house.

When I first contacted KVS, I was simply interested in a quote to replace some bad, dented old aluminum siding on a single family rental I own. After a brief conversation with Kevin, I learned that they had recently done quite a bit of work in Bolingbrook and the surrounding area due to a series of hail storms and high winds. Apparently much of this work had been covered under the various homeowners' home insurance policies. Kevin suggested that I allow him to meet with my State Farm adjuster, and see if my home was eligible for a claim for the siding. He thought that there was a good chance my home would be approved, as the other homes had been. Honestly, at this point I was very skeptical, but since I had nothing to lose, I called my agent and arranged for an adjuster to meet Kevin at the property. Well, I was really surprised a week or so later when I was told that a claim for re-siding my entire home had been approved. Over the next few weeks, Kevin tirelessly followed up all the details with my insurance company, making sure that everything that I was eligible to receive was included in the claim, and he was able to get the initial estimate upped to include gutters, and work that hadn't even occurred to me. To make a long story short, the most difficult task of this entire project (for me) was choosing a color. Kevin handled everything, returned all my calls in a timely manner, was exceedingly patient, and a consummate professional. I met with him a couple times beforehand to insure that all the details were covered. The main work was completed in 1 day. Kevin even included a couple follow up visits to re-do siding where a new fireplace vent was installed as part of my gut rehab project, and to add a garage light housing.
Now I realize that I had a good insurance policy, and I don't expect everyone to be as lucky as I was to have had the entire project covered. But regardless, I would still highly recommend Kevin and KVS Topside to anyone looking for a siding specialist in this area. Kevin's knowledge, attention to detail, and especially (for me) the timely follow up and returned phone calls made a tedious, overwhelming project go really smoothly. KVS's expertise with dealing with the insurance side of things was a real timesaver, and allowed me to increase the scope of work well beyond what I had originally hoped for.

It went so well. Everything was excellent. You always hate having to deal with this kind of thing but they made it so easy for us. He even said don?t pay us until happy. I saw what they were able to do and they did everything perfectly. The materials were great and there was no skimping.

After starting with another vendor- and it not going well, we contacted KVS. They were extremely responsive and able to answer every question we had with the process. The represented us with the insurance agency to make sure that everything that should haven been covered by the insurance claim was. Overall all, went above and beyond to make sure that everything was done to our satisfaction.
We did have two issues. The roofing work was done in 1 day- but it was getting late and dark. So, workers said they would come back in the morning to complete the cleanup - but they did not come back. We had to do the cleanup - which included finding a crowbar in the front yard- again, it was already dark when they were leaving the night before - but that is why they should have come back in the morning to do the cleanup.
Siding work was done another day - but also in one day. The gutters were installed another day. But, no supervisor was available that day and there were issues with the work that was performed. There were valid reasons why. When notified, the supervisor reviewed the work, completely agreed that they work done was not up to their standard, and fixes were done.
Many homes in our neighborhood needed the same type of work due to hail storms. The quality of the materials and workmanship remain among the best in the area.
As a result, a neighbor used KVS to fix their work after another company had done the siding.

I can't begin to explain how this company "came through" for me.  First off, the work was done well, done quickly, and done when they said it would be.  Just this is practically a miracle. But given the fact that all of my repairs had to be made within an impossible timeline because the house was under escrow to be sold-- KVS is my hero. They were extremely professional, punctual, knowledgable, and competent.  I highly recommend them to anyone in need of services!

The team at  KVS Topside is very responsive and professional.  I never felt pressure and was very comfortable with my choice of contractor from the start.  I am a single female and never felt I was being taken advantage of because of that.  They answered all of my questions and I was confident in their experience to get the job done to my satisfaction.  Once I decided on KVS, the owner came out to introduce himself (he was in the area because we were hit with storm damage).  Shawn, my consultant, was with me every step of the way.  He dealt with my insurance company and let me know if there was anything I needed to handle.  His experience made me feel less stressed as he took care of everything.  When the construction crew was going to be a day late, the owner called to apologize and Shawn also called.  The day of the job, Shawn came out and he called to make sure everything was going well.  When the crew left for the day, they left some debris and KVS came out immediately to clean up the debris, even though they were going to be finishing the job the next day.  Very responsive to my concerns and assured me they do not take that lightly and they pride themselves on leaving a clean job site.  The job was completed the following day and EVERYTHING was cleaned up.  They dug thru the hostas and the bushes to make sure there were no nails.  I saw them looking in the yard for any debris.  They did a fantastic job! 

Once the construction crew left, Billy, another consultant, came by to do a walk-thru with me and I had the chance to voice any concerns or opinions I had.  All my concerns were dealt with the previous day and I told Billy the crew was very courteous and responsive to my concerns and were very kind to my dogs and showed a respect for my property.  Also, Shawn was off work the day the job was completed but he called me anyway to see how things were going and if I was happy with the job.  Talk about ultimate customer service. 

The materials KVS used were high quality.  I leaned against the siding and there was no give.  My old siding would move when I leaned against it.  I was very impressed with the product.  I also loved the new vents they put in. I don't have to worry about hornet nests in the vents anymore.  Awesome job!

When / if I need to replace my roof, no question, I will be using KVS Topside

Kevin and Mike were great to work with?.they provided us with all kinds of samples, colors, from different siding companies?.provided a list of clients in the area and we drove by and checked them out. We talked to one customer that had their house completely re-done and he couldn?t say enough about the attention to detail.

Kevin wanted to make sure we were completely happy. He and Mike worked with us to get the best selection of materials and colors. They were very patient and spent considerable time and went out of their way to make sure we were completely satisfied.

Rubin and his crew did the installation and they were superb. I have never seen a neater, cleaner, or tighter installation. Every board was caulked to perfection. As the installation progressed we made changes and suggestions on how we wanted things to look and they worked with us to get the best looking job any one could ever want.

They did a wonderful job on our home.  This was an insurance claim from hail and wind damage.  Kevin said he wanted us to be completely satisfied with the job and we definitely are.  He has a great team of professionals.  Their commitment to our toal satifacation wa a concentrated effort in qualtiy workmanship from beginning to end.  Kvs assisted us in every aspect of the project and kept their commitments.....they were knowledgeable, responsive, efficient, on time, and did a suberb job.  We can certainly recomment them with confidence.

KVS Topside Construction was excellent. He has done everything really well. His work is in very good condition. The quality of their work was excellent. His professionalism was really good.

They did a beautiful job for a very good price. It was an insurance replacement so all I paid was my deductible. They did an outstanding job for me and worked directly with the insurance company so I didn't have to do anything except schedule the appointment. They gave me a free appraisal, a free inspection and the workmanship was really excellent. The insurance company didn't argue with them on the price so that shows me they're reasonably priced.

My wife and I have nothing but praise for KVS Topside Construction, and I would recommend them without hesitation. 
 
When he was out to give us an estimate the owner, Kevin Sweeney said "I want your house to be beautiful, and I want you to be happy"....   His crews did beautiful work, arrived when they were supposed to, completed on time, and cleaned up thoroughly. Kevin made himself available to us throughout the entire project, and was present to supervise the work being completed.  This is not a contractor who is satisfied with "just good enough" and realizes that the key to a successful business is satisfied customers.
We had many contractors come out to bid on our project, and we put a lot of thought into who we would choose to complete the work.  In the end, I am pleased to report that we made the right choice when we chose KVS.  

After heavy wind and hail, I needed repair of my homes aluminum siding. Kevin from KVS came and walked me through every detail of work needed to be done, and helped facilitate with my insurance company. Aluminum siding was replaced with vinyl siding. Roof also had to be re-shingled. Their work was excellent and my home looks BEAUTIFUL. Clean up and workmanship exceeded my expectations. Roof completed in one day, and couple days later came and completed siding in one day. Highly recommend!

KVS was unique from the moment Tudor (their rep) rang the door bell. Tudor explained the entire process. He mentioned KVS jad an "A" rating on the Better Business Bureau (this was definitely NOT something other constractors mentioned!). He explained that KVS was so confident that any of their recent customers would give them a strong recommendation that they would be happy ask them to contact me (He had a map showing recent customers addresses). "Big Mike" their overall foreman not only personally met with our adjustor, he made sure that I was completely aware AND satisfied with what was going to be done. He made sure they used the highest quality/thickest vinyl siding. Once we got the approval for the work, KVS scheduled the job within 5 days! They even scheduled it on Sat. so I would not have to miss work. They started at 7:30am and by 9:30am, the old siding was gone. Then they installed 0.5" insulation and the vinyl siding. So far I saw they have done an excellent job. However, their attention to detail on caulking every tiny space around wndows, doors, dryer vent, water faucet and wrapping board with aluminum was flawless/phenomenal. Our home backs to Naper Blvd (which had a constant traffic roar- inside the house). After the siding installation, the road noise was gone! Not only that, we don't notice significant temperature drops outside because the house is SO air tight! Kevin (the owner stopped by mid afternoon on Saturday to check to see that all was well. ( He really did not need to bother- his crew is ultra professional!). Roughly 1 week later, Juan (KVS gutter-guy) installed the gutters incluing the leaf guards. In short, KVS was superb in every aspect of the entire experience. I know this sounds to good to be true but believe me it is! I am so pleased that I am willing to provide my email ([email protected]) for anyone interested in KVS Topside doing their siding (or roofing- my next door neighbor got their roof done a week before we had our siding done). I took a lot of pictures and if Angies list will allow me , I will send a slide show of the entire process. My advice- USE them and recommend them to your friends and neighbors- they will thank you!
