Things started off well but slowed down due to Vlad's son health issues and some of the financial problems Vlad ran into.  It was frustrating to have remodeling go on way beyond the originally agreed upon time frames and have the whole house turned upside down, we worked through the issues that he was facing.  Towards the end of the project, Vlad simply had too many things going on and wasn't able to finish the project and we mutually agreed to hire another person to finish the remaining loose ends.

In spite of the delays and frustration experienced during the project, we can vouch for Vlad's attention to detail and the pride he takes in his work.  The basement looks wonderful and kids are enjoying the extra space.  We wish speedy recovery for Vlad and his son and hope his personal and financial woes will be soon behind him.

An absolute nightmare dealing with this guy!!  He stole $16,000 from us!!  His name is Vladimir Vujic, not Vladimir Markus.  Spend $40 to do a background check on Vladimir Vujic before you sign a contract with him.
Response from CGC Enterprises
"Before commenting directly to this report I want to point out the other reports my customers have added that are a better representation of the quality work my company provides. I admit the service this member experienced from my business was not quality but is also not the standard I set to reach with each customer. I did enter a work agreement with this member as they describe. We had only completed the framing portion of the job and then prior to starting the plumbing and electrical, this project fell apart due to a series of the worst circumstances I have ever experienced. Without trying start a pity party, I feel it is important to note that my 7 year-old autistic son had to be hospitalized for 6 weeks, fighting for his life and shortly after I experienced a heart attack and was also hospitalized for several weeks recovering. This was an emotionally painful and financially stressful time for my family and I do sincerely apologize to the member that my communication was found lacking due to my health. As of now the member is correct that they have paid $16K of the $20K total cost of the job that I did not complete. I do vow to return every single penny back to this customer, as soon as I will have the finances (within the next 4-6 months and hopefully sooner). While trying to recover physically, I currently have no work coming in which is the only barrier preventing me from refunding the member’s money. I sincerely regret and apologize for all of the problems I have caused. Sometimes, life itself throws a punch, from which we can't recover fast enough. Should have any questions regarding this situation you may call and speak with me directly."

I contacted Vlad in August of 2010 for an estimate on basement work. Shortly after our first meeting he constructed several 3D diagrams of options for our basement. We then offered some suggestions and he revised the diagrams accordingly. Based on the final drawing he gave us an estimate of $20,000. At the time the price seemed a bit high, but the contract specifically stated that the price was set and that there would be no increases due to higher material or labor costs. We decided to go with them and work started in late September. Overall, we were very pleased with both the quality of the work and professionalism of the employees. My wife and I both work during the day, and thus we were slightly nervous about giving strangers complete run of our house while we were out. However, those worries proved to be unfounded. When the workers arrived, they went straight to the basement, did their work and never left a mess. The project went just as Vlad described. The framing was done first, then all of the mechanical work, and finally the finishing work. As things progressed, we made some slight adjustments to the original plan and Vlad was very accommodating to our requests. He also offered several suggestions that made the final layout flow much nicer. Along the way we ran into some issues with the way the plumbing for the original roughed-in bathroom was completed and with the placement of the water softener. Vlad and his crew was able to re-route some piping, move the water softener and accommodate for some of the other problems with the original layout. The end result was a beautiful new bedroom and bathroom in the basement. The only issues we had with the project were in regards to the time it took to complete. The original estimate was for a four to five week project, but in actuality it ended up taking nearly 8. There is a logical flow to the order in which projects are completed in a basement, and we had to wait over a week for the HVAC technician to be able to do his work at our house. We also had some trouble with the scheduling of inspections by the village. This was not the fault of the builder because all inspections were passed on the first visit, but coordinating schedules so that all inspections were done in a timely fashion proved to be the tricky part. Overall, we were very pleased with the service we got. Vlad was always quick to reply to any e-mail, phone call or text message. He clearly takes pride in his work, which is evident by the job that he does. His prices may be slightly higher than what others quote, but you definitely get what you pay for. I would have no problem recommending his services to anyone.

CGC did an excellent job on our basement and my wife and I were very impressed with the quality of their work. Throughout the process, they were prompt to respond to our calls and emails, they arrived on time every day, and were flexible when we unexpectedly had to postpone the project halfway through because we got a leak in the basement (thanks to the heavy rains this summer). This was greatly appreciated as I know they were extremely busy at the time and basically worked triple-overtime to fit our job back into their work queue. All of the workers were knowledgeable, thorough, and professional. It's very clear they care deeply about their work and are intent on making sure you are 100% satisfied with their work as well. At the end of the day, we couldn't have felt better about our decision to hire CGC, and the experience was very enjoyable. CGC is a company we'd strongly recommend to others and we will be looking at them for future projects in our home.

The estimate was for basement remodeling. We wanted quite a few things done in the basement and make it usable. The person who came was very pleasant and fast. He was going to give us a 10% discount because I had found them on Angie?s list. They had good reviews on Angie?s list. The person came right away after I called him. He was right on time and very professional. He was very accommodating to what our needs were.

We have hired this company to refinish our basement. They did a great job, from start to finish. The entire construction process took just a bit over 3 weeks. They would start early in the morning and work until 6 pm every day, 5 days a week. Every day they would show us what has been done, and what is in the schedule for tomorrow. The crew was very quiet, and very pleasant to work with. Detail oriented, meticulous, on time, they do what they promise. If you are considering this company for your basement project I can tell you that your money will be well spent hiring them.

The entire experience was a real joy for me. I never knew how many things you have to be aware of when you do the project like this, but luckily this company knew exactly how to deal with every problem they ran into. From the beginning to the end, everything was done in 4 weeks. They put up the new framing on the walls and the ceilings, made a brand new full bath, installed 23 new can lights with additional 6 lights inside of the staircase (which was a great idea from the owner of the company). They have also made a wet bar with 27" tv installed. They have also painted the basement, and stained the staircase with chrome balusters, and installed the carpet. Every day when I got back from work, I`d get a "walk-through" with Vlad. He would show me everything they have accomplished for that day, and also he `d show me what is in the schedule for the next day. I must say that I was very impressed by the quality of the service, and attention to details Vlad was putting into this project. Apparently, he really loves his work, and is very proud of it. Two months after they were done, I`ve had an appliance company coming over to deliver and install a brand new microwave, and when they came over, they wanted to cut out a 2 inch by 30 inch area from the top of my backsplash because the microwave was 2 inch taller then the old one. I really didn't wanted to damage my new countertop or the backsplash, so I called Vlad. After describing an issue, he told me to send those guys back, and that he is going to install the microwave for me. 2 hours later, he came over, and installed it in less than an hour. Did not even charged me anything for it, and he did not had to cut out the backsplash at all. All in all, this company's work is worth every penny and more. Every once in a while, I get an email from them checking in on how the basement looks like, do we see any drywall cracks and such. If you are about to use this company's services, you should know that Vlad`s word worth's more than any written contract you may get.

As we have expected, Vlad was extremely meticulous and ahead of the project at all times. The crew was always polite and very quiet. The entire process took 3 weeks from start to finish. We are very happy with our new basement and the flooring. If you consider hiring this company, I am strongly recommending them if you are looking for knowledgeable, experienced, meticulous crew with reasonable prices. In our case, they really did went beyond our expectations this time as well. Even if you don't really know what to do with the basement, how to decorate, etc. Vlad will throw so many ideas at you that you will get stunned with the knowledge and experience this people have. I just want to say THANK YOU to Vlad and his crew for making this project a real ease for us.

For this project we have had few different companies coming out to give us an estimate. This company was the last one on our "to call" list, because they were referred by a neighbor, and other companies we were getting from YP. Vlad (owner) came the very same night when we called them (8:30pm) because we simply cant change our schedule due to our 3 yr. old autistic child. We were very impressed with his approach and quick response time. He spent almost 2 hours listening to our ideas and discussing all the possibilities we have had for this project. One thing that really stands out was when I asked for a down payment, he said that we have to provide a 10% at the time when we sign the contract, additional 20% when they start, and additional payments as the work progresses, unlike 2 other companies who asked for 60%-75% before they start the work, and the balance when they finish! That alone made me really comfortable with this company. Since day one, I could see these guys busting their back ends every day from 8 am to 4 pm. Projected timeline for this project was 5-7 weeks, and to our surprise they had it completely done in 4 week period. Every day they have had 3-5 people working in our home, and the owner of the company was working with his crew all day long, he would be the first one to show up in the morning, and the last one to leave at the end of the day. This project was an excellence in every single detail possible. Craftsmanship, attention to detail, responsiveness, meticulous crew, they show up on time and they do what they promise. This company is definitely a breath of fresh air among the contractors we have ever worked with. Every night Vlad would even gave as a call, or showed us what they have done for that day. Just an extraordinary communication. Last day when all the painting was done, they had a cleaning crew come out and completely clean up the house, even the rooms they never stepped into. In addition, I have to mention that they were extremely careful with my son around, who is a child with special needs. We are very impressed with overall experience with cgc enterprises, and have them recommended to all our friends and our business partners as well. We are going to remodel our unfinished basement in March `09, and we wont have 3 or 4 companies over to give as an estimate on it. We know who are we going to call.
