Everything went PERFECTLY!!! I truly mean that! Carmen of White Oak Interiors has been a joy to work with. After living in our home for 10 years plus, it was apparent to my husband and I that we were not ever likely to complete the decorating process without professional help. Carmen helped us decorate and redecorate the vast majority of our home.
Our decorating project was large and involved new hardware floors on the first floor, and painting almost every room in the house. The living room was redecorated to give it a much brighter light look, 2 bedrooms were finally decorated completely, and our office, dining room, 2.5 bathrooms, master bedroom, kitchen, and mud rooms all received a well-deserved and overdue and quot;face lift.and quot;
Carmen was wonderful to work with. She is very flexible with her time and helped us find furniture, many accessories, window treatments, carpet, and area rugs. I really liked how Carmen helped us incorporate many of our existing items (artwork etc.) in a creative tasteful way! I am thrilled that many of our previously unhung pictures are now on display.
I am so happy that Carmen was able to help us. Our home turned out to be a pretty large project, but the timing was right and Carmen was the perfect person to help us!!! I highly recommend White Oak Interiors! My husband and I LOVE the new look to our home.

I paid for her time by the hour, it was $100/hour and I think I wound up talking to her for 2.5 hours. She seemed very knowledgeable and personable. She had some good ideas about even staging some of the rooms as they were and then kind of gave me a really good overview about the whole renovation process and what things I could do at what stages. So, I can kind of figured out over the next couple of years what I am going to have done. I had hoped for more of a color consultation, but when I started talking to her I realized that I was no where near actually implementing new paint in the home when I realized that based on all the other things that I wanted changed about my house that the walls would be one of the latter things that I needed to really worry about. I am not sure I will use her in the future, I thought it was a good value for the time and the consultation, but some of the rates that were quoted regarding how payment will be made, like if she oversaw the renovation or found things for me while shopping and if she brought in any people for the various projects, like electricians or painters or things, there is like an extra percentage of that cost on top of any time that she spends doing it, except for shopping time, but then it was like a larger percentage of the cost of the actual item that she found. I have never used a designer at all until her, so I was a little bit worried for the next days in terms of if I had her with me through the entire process, not only would I be paying for her time and the various projects, she would also be getting additional on top, e.g., if the electrician bill is $1000 I will have to pay her $100 because she found them.

Carmen was suggested by our painter and he contacted Carmen and let her know to expect a call from me. When we were working on a time to schedule, Carmen wanted to make sure that she was at the house at a time that would show what the light exposure in the various rooms was like. We wanted the rooms to flow together, yet give each room a distinctness. Carmen was able to do that and so much more. She made color suggestions and we went with everything she suggested. We knew the house would look good, but we were amazed at the transformation. In the living room, the color Carmen had suggested not only made the room seem more open and inviting, but it gave the furniture new life. In the den, we had one wall that was wood and we weren't sure what should be done with it - remove it or paint over it. Carmen suggested having it sanded and revarnished instead. The wood now looks brand new and updated. The colors also brought out the woodwork in the house. The transformations in the bedrooms were unbelievable - the master bedroom loos so fresh and updated. In addition, she made recommendations for moving furniture that really opened up the rooms. We were concerned with how we could display pictures and Carmen suggested framing out a section of the wall and having it painted a lighter color and making a photo collage. It is an interesting twist and it looks great. The house looks fantastic and we get so many compliments on the colors! Carmen was a pleasure to work with - her knowledge of the color palette and her vision for what each room could be was transformative. She took a 23 year old home and made it look brand new.

Carmen's ideas transformed an outdated and architecturally “bland” church community space and highlighted the beauty that was covered up for many years with its old monotone color palette. Her selection of a fresh, up-to-date and well coordinated color scheme breathed new life into a space that serves as a central meeting place for a very active group of parishioners and that many will enjoy. After application of your ideas, we noticed a steady stream of visitors full of refreshed curiosity and many “oh wows!” You are professional, organized and prompt and I look forward to our next project together. I appreciate your outstanding talents and service.
