My only issue with Superior Overhead Door was with their office staff. They created unnecessary confusion. First they told me that I needed to buy an and quot;install kitand quot; from Lowe's before they could install. Then, when I called Lowe's, they told me that there isn't such a thing, and that all I needed were some angle irons. When I called Superior back to tell them, they then told that it wouldn't be a problem at all, and I could buy the angle irons directly from the install technician. Why then did they tell me I needed a kit in the first place? Finally, when the installer arrived he told me he wasn't authorized to take payment, and I had to undergo an entire process to have their office call me to get my credit card info before he could actually complete the install. It was a very annoying and unnecessarily aggravating process. I wasted a lot of time during the work week going back and forth when the whole thing could have been easily cleared up in the beginning.
That all being said, the finished job was done very well, and the installer was great.

"This Home Depot customer’s door was installed 9 years ago by Superior through Home Depot. The customer just had a spring break on their door, which we learned of 4/27/2010. The customer told Home Depot that we did not install new springs with the door 9 years ago. Home Depot had Superior do an inspection to determine which exact springs were on the door and confirm a broken spring is the problem. The springs have been confirmed that they were the springs ordered, received, and installed with the customer’s door, and are the correct springs for this door. We confirmed at inspection that the customer has a broken spring. Home Depot was informed of the price to replace the customer’s springs, which are long out of warranty. Both Home Depot and Clopay, the door manufacturer, are satisfied that the customer will need to pay to replace their springs and no fault was found with Superior Door’s installation or service, both 9 years ago at the time of installation and the current issue. The customer’s installation warranty through Superior was 1 year."

To clarify the door buying procedures, before any door is ordered, whether you are our direct customer or through a home improvement store, is to do a 20 minute Site Check where we come to your home to inspect the installation site and make sure there are no problems or issues, double check the measurements, and confirm the details of what is being ordered. Once the door arrives at the manufacturer's warehouse, we inspect it to make sure it is what was ordered and in good condition. Then we call the customer to let them know their door has arrived and schedule their installation."
