Went as expected. The salesperson was very friendly and was up front it could take 2-3 weeks to get the mower back due to the time of year. It took a little over two weeks. Estimate was right on. $200. Low enough to not buy a new mower. A little higher than expected but having no gauge it felt reasonable. Service was really good and mower runs so happy overall. 90 day warranty so that is a good cushion. I like the place. Will consider doing more business with them.

They are reliable and reasonable. I have no complaints with their work. I would recommend them. They were very professional. They called me before they did the wok. The let me know what it will cost and what they will do. Their price is reasonable.

We have used him in the past.  He is fixing the engine in our lawn mower now.  He has done maintenance on the machine and also repairs.  We have used him at least half a dozen times.  We keep using him because of his punctuality and his timeliness to get things done.  He doesn’t sit on it for months.  The quick response of the diagnosis; bringing it in, diagnosing what is wrong with it and getting it fixed are all done in a timely fashion.

The personal pace drive system of our walk-behind self-propelled lawn Toro mower had quit working. I took the mower to Ralph Helm Inc in Crystal Lake and was pleasantly surprised when the mower was ready the next day. The repair man had fixed the mower by replacing the drive belt and "adjusting guides and cables to specs." However, when I took the mower home and started mowing the lawn I found the self propel was no better than before I took the mower to Helms for repair. The belt replacement and adjustment had accomplished nothing.
I had two choices, either take the mower back to Helms or try a different repair shop. I opted for the second approach and, based on a friends recommendation took the mower to  Woodstock Power Equipment in Woodstock, IL. After a quick initial inspection they determined that a plastic part on the mower handle was broken and would need to be replaced. Unfortunately the part was not in stock. It took 8 days to obtain the part and repair the mower. The pleasant surprise this time was that the repair was covered under warranty and cost me $0.00. The mower now works as it did before the breakdown. Woodstock Power Equipment will be getting my future maintenance and repair business.

Pretty speedy. I don't mind paying for the work, but I hate paying so much for the pickup and delivery. Also unfortunately I think it's leaking oil now which would not be good.

Tired of unprofessional service, we signed up for Angies List and found and used Ralph Helm. The experience was very good. Professional from start to finish. Picked up our Simplicity mower when promised and found and fixed the transmission problem in a few days and delivered our mower back promptly. About a week from initial phone call to fixed mower. I will use Ralphs company again as they appear to be professional, courteous and competent.
