NORTHERN TREE SVC

We used Northern for a dead tree very close to the house a few years ago. We liked Pete's approach and price enough to have him come back out again for a tree that fell down this past winter. It was simple enough for him that he gave me a quote and did the work on the spot! Can't beat that kind of service. Additionally, I know my neighbors have used him since - because they noticed how quickly he works!

Pete came on the scheduled day and explained what he was going to do. He spent extra time educating me about the type of tree in our yard. He was professional and personable. (He even answered the questions of the neighbor boy peeking over the fence.) He did what was requested and cleaned up the yard nicely. We are very pleased with his work and would definitely hire him in the future.

This tree was approximately 20 years old and was surrounded by things that could be harmed by the unskilled tree cutter. Surrounding this multi-truncked tree was a tall evergreen hedge, a birch tree, a honey locust tree, a privacy fence, a decorative iron wall and a deck with rails. This tree could even hit our house if it fell the wrong way. (What were we thinking when we planted this thing!) I had been aware that previous reviewers mentioned that you shouldn't expect an immediate response to your phone calls. That is true but keep in mind that Pete doesn't have someone answering phone calls for him and many times he is up in a tree. Be patient... He will call you back. The message asks for your address and the nature of the work you want done. He will stop by and leave you a detailed estimate. This was what happened with us... We never met him until after the job was somewhat completed. The tree was to be cut down which would take an entire day and the stump was to be ground out a few days later, I was pleasantly surprised when Pete came back early that same evening and did the stump grinding before dusk had settled in. I had to work that day and was not home when the work was being done. I was very pleased to come home and find my yard immaculate. Pete and his crew did an excellent job!

We've used this vendor in the past so we just called them up.  It took them a bit to get back to us and we had to follow up with them for the estimate.
They took down a couple trees and trimmed up several more that had been damaged by the storms earlier in the year.
Work was completed on time. They were careful of the other surrounding plants / trees / bushes in our yard as well as the neighbor's yard.  They were careful with our gates and made sure all was secure before leaving (we have several dogs).
They do good work, they have fair pricing, they're respectful of the property but you may need to follow up with them a bit.

Pete, the owner went to great lengths to make sure the special crane he used did not damage my lawn by talking sheets of plywood and placing them in front of the crane before he moved it. It went extremely well. I plan on hiring him for a future job.Not only that he has me as a customer for life and I plan on telling all my friends and neighbors.
